The mojito was delicious and had a limoncello foam on it. Very refreshing. The antipasti was truly the highlight of the meal. The meat and cheese was delicious and the bread and onion chutney was perfect with them. If we visit again we would definitely would do more of the antipasti. The Nonna's meatballs were served in a bread bowl. These were ok, but didn't blow us away. However, the bread bowl was perfect for getting extra sauce from the other dishes. The Porchetta Crostone was a highlight of the meal. Very flavorful, the bread was crispy and it was a good mix of sweet and salty. This would be something we'd order again as well. The Sicilian Paccheri was a pistachio pesto pasta and was cooked al dente and was a very tasty pasta: they were generous with the sauce too so we dipped the bread from the Nonna's meatballs in the sauce as well. It wasn't too busy while we were there and we were amongst the last customers there for the evening. The staff was friendly and they were able to bring out our food pretty quickly. The restaurant would be good for date nights, meet ups and small or large groups. While we were there a group of about ten was wrapping up and seemed to have an amazing time as well.

Big expansive ceilings, stone flooring and lots and lots of space. Even on Saturday nights, you won't wait an age to get a table. Add to that the five star service. All the waiters are friendly and more importantly they are quick and proficient. You'll be in and out as quickly as you want to be. The only minor side is the lack of space to wait if it is busy and the lack of an ability to have a quick drink whilst you count down those minutes to feasting time. Sometimes, however, you get the last slice of a pizza that's been sitting around for ages and has gone a little bit stale or soggy, and it's not the most pleasant culinary experience. Likewise with their customisable pasta bakes, which may seem an odd choice for a takeaway to offer, but they're ideal for when you want something half normal but you just don't want to cook it yourself. Potato wedges for £1.50 too... next level root vegetable manoeuvre! Being inside an off licence means they can take your booze order on the same call, which is handy, and they regularly have competitive offers on. From time to time vouchers for Felicinis are available and pizzas are on offer in the early evenings, both of which can reduce your bill by a fair bit.

You will have to go up a couple of steps to get inside, I'm not sure if they have a way around this for people with access requirements, although there is an outdoor seating area which doesn't require steps. The interior has the charm of the newly refurbished Pizza Express locations with the orange booth-style seating on the back walls. I visited for lunch in the early afternoon so the restaurant was quiet. Only one waitress was serving the entire restaurant, but granted they weren't busy enough to justify any more staff members, it seemed spookily busy for a Pizza Express, having visited dozens of their locations across the country. I ordered a gluten-free Pollo Ad Astra, with gluten-free dough balls, both served at the same time. My food came out very quickly. The amount of toppings on the pizza was generous and the chicken was tasty, however, the pizza was overloaded with the passata, so the toppings would slide off when cutting the pizza, it was also really greasy, oily and unpleasant. The dough balls were served piping hot with a generous helping of garlic butter, they were really dry without the butter though, so a generous dollop of the garlic butter was required with everyone. Prices for the pizzas seemed a little higher than other Pizza Express locations, before any discounts, my Gluten-Free Pollo Ad Astra came to £14.30, which would usually cost around £13.95, my guess is the rent is super high here due to being located in a listed building in a central location. Granted, the difference isn't that much but it does add up if you're in a large group, so if you're looking to save money you might wish to head to the Leeds Arena branch, on Merrion Way, which is around half a mile or so away on foot. PRO TIP: Be sure to take advantage of their Pizza Express Club loyalty scheme on their app, after just a couple of visits you can get a bunch of freebies to make your trip more affordable. Without these offers, it can be a little pricey however once you unlock the gold tier you're able to get bonuses such as a free soft drink, bottled water, dough balls, coffee and Dolcetti and the list continues.
