I passed by this quirky little food emporium a few times, marveling at it's black and white exterior, before I finally had the time to sample the menu, but I'm very glad I stopped! Kitschen follows fine traditions of street food, serving up slices of hot pizza, filled sandwiches, fully-laden doughballs, and from what can only be witchcraft, tea and coffee for 50p, We went with the latter two this time, our doughballs smothered with cheese, tomato sauce, and roasted vegetables, and were quickly devoured, and the coffees followed suit quickly. The doughballs were lovely and crisp on the outside, and once cracked open were lovely and fluffy, complimenting the rich toppings well, and the coffee was great as well; actual filter coffee, not reconstituted instant malarkey.
We were also lucky enough to sample one of their experimental calzones that they plan to add to the menu soon, this one stuffed with salami and spinach, and I eagerly await till I can get another one! This is well worth a trip to if you're hanging around the Corn Exchange! read more
