**SUMMARY**I came here to relax before my wedding but I actually came out more stressed. There were ~5 times during the service that I literally wanted to just get up and leave. She didn't even stand behind the deal that was advertised, and my whole session lasted about 50 min. If you are one of the hundreds of people who purchased the buywithme coupon deal, I'm sorry. I would advise that you don't bother going to her and just consider it a loss. You will thank yourself, trust me. I'm certainly going to contact buywithme about this and let them know what kind of horrible services they are promoting. Worst massage experience ever!
Disclaimer- I pulled my summary to the top just in case you don't want to read my lengthy review. (I usually don't write bad reviews, but couldn't let this one slide- I really want to back up my 1 star rating).
REVIEW
I purchased a deal on buywithme.com for Massage by Judy. My wedding is July 9th, this seemed like the perfect thing to help me relax before my big day. The deal was a 1-hr Swedish or deep tissue massage, a 30-min facial, a 25-min foot reflexology session, and 15-min head massage.
I called to make an appt 3 wks after the original purchase. She told me the same thing she told another yelper: "What took u so long to call and book?" Rude.. whatever. She scheduled me for a week later at 7:15pm. I was REALLY looking forward to it.
I arrive at Imaginique (where she rents a space) 10 min early & call to let her know I'm there. She strolls into the waiting area @7:25pm to get me, chatting on the phone. I go into her room- very small, minimal décor (not a "relaxing environment"). I fill out paperwork, she is very chatty while I do so. She asks what deal I purchased. I tell her and she says "Oh, they screwed up. The deal is for a massage, facial, and your choice of a foot or head massage, not both." (Errr ok, I won't argue.) I tell her head massage b/c I prefer people not touch my feet. Then she exclaims "Oh I'm the same way- I hate touching people feet, it's so gross! One time some guy wanted me to, and I said no way... " blah blah blah. (REALLY lady?? You ARE a masseuse!) Anyway I finally get into the massage bed at 7:45, 30 min after my original start time.
Once started, she continues to be very chatty, leaves the LIGHTS ON (I'm supposed to be relaxed, not have bright lights shining on me). She suddenly splashes my face w/water and begins to slap on cleanser. Once that was removed, she puts an exfoliant on my face and begins to knead my face like she's prepping a loaf of bread. She was so clumsy, rushed, and chatty that she kept getting it on my lips and in my mouth. A couple times I tried to get rid of the grit and nicely mentioned it to her- she made no apology.
Finally- time to turn over for massage. She begins and the "massage" is her rubbing lotion on my back, slightly harder than what my fiancé would do for me. The motions are not very relaxing at all; she is obviously rushing and won't stop mentioning how her next client is going to have to wait for us to finish because she "squeezed" me in.
The all of a sudden her phone rings. She lets it ring..ring.. then says "shoot, I bet that's my next client. I gotta go let him in." She leaves me lying there in the middle of the massage and comes back a couple min later. She continues, gets to my feet, then starts to massage them and wrap them in a towel. She focuses on them for a while and then says "oh wait, you didn't want me to touch your feet." I just sighed and said "that's fine".
After the feet she quickly finishes off the rest of the "massage" (it lasted all of ~25 minutes). She has me flip over again and puts a lotion on my face to finish off the "facial". She says "I'm going to let you lay here and relax for a few minutes- I'll be right back." She shuts off the lights and leaves. Once she comes back she slaps some water on my face and rinses it off.. keeps saying "how much I'm going to love my new face". Before handing me the mirror to look, she says "oh no, the mirror is dirty. I'm just gonna wipe it on your sheet.." and wipes it where I am laying! (seriously lady??) I look, there is mascara under my eyes where it ran off, that she didn't even bother to wipe. I ended up having to wipe it. She gives me water and tells me I can get dressed.
Halfway through me getting dressed she knocks and says she needs to come in & get the room ready for her next client. W/o any response from me, she comes right in rushing me along. I reach in my purse to give her a tip. I REALLY REALLY did not want to because I was so unhappy, but being the kind person I am, figured I would give her something. I go to hand it to her and she doesn't even THANK ME, she doesn't even smile graciously and take it from me.. she points to the table and says "put it over there". HOW RUDE. I wish I would have taken it back and walked out, and never looked back! read more
