James was selected through Yelp, and honestly, I had no idea what to expect. What I experienced was…read morethe kind of customer service that has become incredibly rare. He quickly diagnosed the issue with our HVAC system and immediately began working to locate the replacement control board. Unfortunately, because of the holiday, the part wasn't available. Most technicians would have stopped there, explained the delay, and waited until the part could be ordered. James didn't. It genuinely bothered him that my family would be without air conditioning in the middle of the summer. Even after he left, he kept thinking about our situation. He continued following up, even when he couldn't reach me, and came back with a creative temporary solution that safely got our system running until the new control board arrives. Throughout the process, he also spoke with my husband, patiently walked him through the situation, and offered guidance before he attempted any repairs on his own. James wasn't trying to sell us another service call. He genuinely wanted us to make the best decision and stay safe. None of this was expected. None of it was required. It came from someone who genuinely cares about his customers and takes pride in his work. James didn't just diagnose the problem. He educated me, explained our options, answered every question, and found solutions instead of excuses. That is the difference between someone who completes a service call and someone who is building lifelong customer relationships. I also appreciated how fair and reasonable his diagnostic fee was. At a time when many companies take advantage of homeowners who have little choice but to pay whatever they're quoted, James was honest, transparent, and priced his services fairly. It made saying yes easy because I trusted him from the beginning. We still have the permanent repair ahead of us once the replacement control board arrives, but based on everything we've experienced so far, I have complete confidence that James will see the job through. As a wife and a mom, when your home suddenly becomes unbearably hot and you don't know what to do next, it is easy to feel overwhelmed. I was stressed, discouraged, and honestly scared that we would be stuck waiting through the holiday with no relief. James gave us something I wasn't expecting. He gave us hope. He refused to stop thinking about our situation until he found a way to help.

James is the absolute best. He goes above and beyond to make sure your home is cooling correctly!read more

These guys came right out (2025-07-22), correctly diagnosed the issue (a bad capacitor), and…read morequickly got our system working again. On top of that they gave an extremely reasonable quote for leveling our AC unit pad - and we had them do that as well at a later visit. After dealing with so many other companies in the area who are fixated with solving every minor problem by quoting a whole new system - these folks know how to diagnose and fix the actual problem. I was actually here looking up their info to pass along while recommending them to a friend.

HVAC Company Review: I hate to have to take this public, as I have kept my thoughts to myself over…read morethe last 12 months, and put trust into a company that I was hopeful would make things right, but that was extremely naive of me. Unfortunately, we have to go other routes now, so I will be speaking out to warn people: Wise Heating and Cooling (Galena, OH) - Don't do it. You can see my review on Google and BBB as well. This is the short version because a 45-page PowerPoint deck chronicling this nightmare is too much to share. We had a new HVAC system installed by Wise in October 2025 and began experiencing problems shortly after installation. Unfortunately, what we expected to be the peace of mind that comes with investing in a brand-new HVAC system instead turned into an ongoing source of lost sleep, lost money, deep frustration and concern. Over the last 12 months, there have been repeated service visits and numerous opportunities for Wise to evaluate and address concerns with both our heating and cooling system. While the company has responded and made attempts to address the situation, the underlying problems have not been resolved with either the furnace or the AC units. Communication and follow-through have also been a significant source of frustration. We frequently had to initiate contact, request updates, and repeatedly follow up to understand what was happening and what the next step would be. Much of the responsibility for keeping the process moving toward a resolution seemed to fall on us. We made every reasonable effort to work directly with Wise and gave them numerous opportunities to resolve our concerns. Our goal was never to create a dispute. We simply wanted the properly functioning, reliable HVAC system we believed we were purchasing when we made this significant investment. Because the problems continued, we ultimately had three other HVAC companies independently evaluate the system in an effort to understand what was happening and determine how the issues could be resolved. Their assessments raised concerns regarding the sizing of the equipment and the adequacy of the original installation. After receiving similar concerns from outside HVAC professionals, our confidence that continued service visits from Wise would ultimately resolve the situation was further diminished, especially considering the resolutions they are offering are the same things that have already attempted over the last 12 months. Wise has also attempted a few times to direct us toward the equipment manufacturer (Bryant) regarding the concerns. However, we contracted with Wise, not the manufacturer, to provide and install our complete HVAC system. We relied on Wise's professional expertise to recommend, provide, and properly install a system appropriate for our home. Regardless of whether the remaining issues involve the equipment, installation, or a combination of both, we believe Wise should have worked with us to reach a satisfactory resolution rather than leaving us to pursue the manufacturer ourselves, especially when they have already been involved and unable to help. We are a repeat customer of Wise and are deeply disappointed in how we have been treated. After a year of continued problems, repeated service attempts, extensive follow-up on our part, and evaluations by three other HVAC companies, we have lost confidence that additional service visits from Wise will provide a satisfactory resolution. We requested a resolution that would allow us to move forward with another provider, but Wise has declined that request. We are genuinely disappointed that the situation reached this point. We would have preferred to resolve this directly with Wise and move forward as satisfied customers. Instead, after numerous opportunities to address our concerns, we are now left to pursue other avenues for resolution. Purchasing a new HVAC system is a significant investment. Based on our experience with the installation, the ongoing heating and cooling issues, the communication and follow-through throughout the process, the concerns raised by other HVAC professionals, and the inability to reach an acceptable resolution after a year of trying, I cannot recommend this company.

After 12 tumultuous years with another HVAC company who sold, installed and serviced our furnace -…read moreand then nickeled and dimed us and tried to tell us our furnace needed replacing ASAP, we found Care Heating & Cooling on Yelp and I picked them to get a second opinion based on their Yelp ratings and reviews. They came, assessed and won my trust and business. We religiously care for and service our furnace as I don't want it to fail in the dead of winter. After looking at our furnace, Care told us that they did not see a need to replace it - that it checked out tine. We also had them service the AC unit which, knock on wood, has a been a gem and never yet failed us. They not only did the service, they made recommendations on how to maximize the cool air where it was wanted by shutting off the areas where we don't need it! I wish I would have known this was possible 25 years ago! As I freeze in the north side of the house while the hubby sweats in the south side. I work from home and my office is in the cool part and his TV room is in the south. We get direct sun that heats up that room quickly. Bottom line - this company is the bomb. One I look forward to having service our HVAC needs in the future.

He does a thorough job of checking both the HVAC and the AC. He took his time and reported to me that he found no issues with either unit. He was impressed that I made notes of the last time I had changed the filter. Care HVAC is an excellent company to use for installing and maintaining new HVAC systems. I highly recommend them. I give them 5 stars.
