I came in on a Monday afternoon and was greeted very kindly by Ray... then it followed with a phenomenal experience with Kyla ... I had met her in the bathroom before knowing she would assist me and she didn't know nor did I that she would be taking excellent care of me. I like the vibes and the food is ok too. I didn't order drinks but they had a margarita special for $3.50 frozen or on the rocks! Come check them out and ask for Kyla!

So Juan's what can I say it was basic... the server had no personality - he may have been really tired. He barely spoke. But was quick , the food came out really fast. First I love Mexican food this really wasn't it. The nacho chips were stale, the drink wasn't sweet, the fish tacos were dry I put the salsa on them and ate them. and the churro had chocolate sauce on it. The music was extremely too loud and sounded like two songs were playing at the same time. The table was sticky and very low seats. Would NEVER go back. My mom had the wings she ate 3 of them they were extremely over cooked. 3 stars was a stretch but I don't know how to do half stars!

came here for lunch with a coworker. It's very nice design with great atmosphere. I ordered the taco de birra and I was pleasantly surprised. The tacos were packed with meat compared to other places so it's definitely worth the $20 in my opinion. The only thing I did not like was the service was really slow, and the place was not packed. My server was just lingering in some areas.

We came in the early afternoon. The service was great, our server was nice. The food/drinks came fast. The prices are cheap and the music was nice. I tend to forget that this place exists, but happy when I remember it does lol

This plate $18 not enough beef worthy of the price on top of no pico de gallo and sour cream as inntially on the menu #Juan's Hampton Roads

Came here during national margarita day! They had great margarita specials, but the happy hour one was the best! Their frozen margaritas were delicious! We let the bartender choose our flavors. The happy hour menu was okay. The tacos were a big disappointment (dry and bland). However, the carne asada fries were a big hit! The fried chimmichunga was pretty good as well. We sat at the bar, our bartender was busy but attentive. The locals and regulars were super nice! All in all, we definitely enjoyed ourselves. Will definitely return!

My daughter used door dash. She placed an order at about 8:45 and they close at 9:30. I will load an image of what she ordered. All she received is a burrito. Just tortilla, meat, and cheese. You have to be pretty damn slow to only send someone a burrito and completely skip over the rest. I mean no rice etc that's so crazy. I give them a zero and we will never place another order nor dine there again. Thank you for the worse experience Juan's.

So first time here and came down with our coworkers. Johnathan provided great service and recommendations on food. I hit the Carne asada fries. We will definitely be back

I don't care what anyone else is saying, Juan's is still kicking it! Went there a week ago with my Grubbing Buddy, after not having Mexican in a while, and it felt like we ordered every favorite Mexican dish we could think of. A while back, at the same location in Hampton, there was a different restaurant that appeared to be doing well, but recently Juan's Mexican Café & Cantina was added to the owner's other two Mexican restaurants: Juan' Taqueria & Cantina and Juan's Rooftop & Cantina. I have not tried all of the locations, but we often go to the Mexican Café and Cantina because it is closest to us. They have an amazing Birria Ramen Noodle Soup which, surprisingly, I did not order this trip. Instead, we ordered a watermelon margarita (which tasted more like peach than watermelon but was good nonetheless), Crazy Elotes (corn), Fajitas Durango (shrimp, steak, chicken), rice and beans, ceviche, extra crema and tortillas, which was graciously served to us by our waitress, Aurora. We knew it was going to be too much, but we loved it all and knew that it would be enough to last us almost a week. Juan's is one of my two favorite Mexican restaurants, and we plan to try Juan's Rooftop option soon.

I had about an hour for lunch total, to include the commute, giving me about 40 minutes to get in and out of Juan's. At around 12:40pm on a Tuesday, it was a really slow crowd. It had a pretty cool atmosphere, an authentic flair if you will. I was seated and served quickly with water, chips and salsa, and promptly ordered a Birria Burrito. The burrito literally came out minutes later, and it was hot! I was excited as everything up to this point was worming out perfectly. Quick seating, prompt service, great attention to detail by the server...Juan's was killing it! But when I ate the Birria Burrito, it tasted more like pot roast in a flour tortilla with some sauce on it. It wasn't bad, but it was boring and bland, I was quite underwhelmed. To be fair, I live in El Paso, TX so I understand that getting Mexican food in Virginia isn't going to match up, but even still, I wasn't impressed. So this is a weird review for me because of that. Great location, very clean, phenomenal service, fun atmosphere...but the boring food got me.

Supposed to be three tacos with jalapeños let me know if you see the missing stuff

I got the tacos governador, they're shrimp tacos with grilled onions, bell peppers, and cheese. They were amazing. The shrimp was so fresh, plump, and perfectly grilled. The onions and peppers still had a little crunch to them, so all the textures worked beautifully together. I took my food to go and rated a 5/5, but I'm sure it would have been even better if I ate it immediately there if that's even possible. It also came with this special sauce, but it didn't really need it. They were amazing as is. I did like dipping my chips in the sauce. I also loved the chips and salsa. They're the thicker cut chips and can hold a lot. The salsa was fresh and no heat to it, but you could taste the peppers. The employees were very nice and helped me because I came in thinking I knew exactly what I wanted lol but completely forgot the name. It seems like a local restaurant because the employees were very friendly with all the customers there, and seemed like they knew everyone. If I have time before I leave, I'll definitely come back! Thank you for a great dinner and first proper meal in Virginia!

Everyone can be seated comfortably. It is very large and filled with illusions of Mayan Ruins and a mild rainforest vibe. In addition to the interior redesign the menu is completely redesigned. Gone is the stereotypical Speedy Gonzales lunch special. The extensive offerings are replaced with such interesting combinations as a steak, chicken and shrimp burrito, described by my friend as "Delicious," and spinach enchiladas. We were offered tea refills and one to go. I had the spinach enchiladas and was not happy. The cooked spinach inside was served unaccompanied. There was a nice sauce on top but I was glad I swapped the rice for refried beans so I could mix up the beans, which were a bit too wet for me, with the spinach. Will not choose that again. Prices are higher as well. My lunch special and tea was $15 plus tip. Service was attentive although some mistakes were made and corrected, probably due to a language barrier. The improvements to Plaza Azteca have brought a more contemporary vibe. Good Mexican food and overall good dining experience.

I was there between lunch and dinner so it was slow. Very bright inside with bright colors. 2 things I noticed.....when I sat they asked me if I wanted the white sauce with my chips and salsa. Absolutely not but I like that they asked. I know it benefits them too and less food waste but I definitely appreciated it. They also did NOT bring me a straw. Once again.....waste. I always bring my own straw so I am glad they asked if I wanted a straw. I was not nearly as hungry as I thought so I got a chicken burrito. It was good. The salsa was really good. So fresh and lots of flavor with lots of fresh cilantro and onion and tomato. It was really good. Don't wait when they bring you a check. You have to bring it up to the register on your way out.
