The potato salad was like mashed potatoes, the rice was hard and uncooked with old dry chicken, the beans were flavorless, and the tortillas were stuck together and moldy. AVOID this establishment at all costs. I had one of the most embarrassing encounters of my life over some BEANS. They will make mess up your order, acknowledge that their employees are the ones who made mistakes, refuse to fix your order, refuse to give you a refund, and then call the cops on you when they hear other patrons coming up to you saying that it's Juan Pollos mistake and they should correct it. My family ordered takeout from this Juan Pollo tonight for a large group, which we have many times in the past. Upon getting home we noticed they didn't give us any of the chicken. I immediately drove back and while I was driving a family member called me and said they gave us an extra XL rice instead of an XL beans. The manager REFUSED to give us our XL beans unless we went back home, got our extra XL rice, and returned it to them. They offered a large beans, extra tortillas, and salsa, but would NOT give us the XL beans we ordered. I told them I didn't want any extra salsa or tortillas, just the food we ordered, but they wouldn't budge unless we went home and brought back the extra side of rice. It was weird and frustrating imo. Also pretty disgusting because why are they so adamant about bringing back the food if they aren't going to resell it? The manager admitted she was working on bagging two orders at once and that's how our sides got swapped, and that a new employee didn't know online order's had their chicken bagged on arrival which is why we didn't get ours. Despite the manager acknowledging all the mistakes were on their end, they still wanted me to waste my gas on making THREE trips to their business over THEIR mistakes. Came here to order some chicken for a BBQ event. I ordered their 1 whole chicken, along with a large salad. I also ordered an additional order of tortillas. When I received my order, I didn't check to make sure everything was there. Opening the order, I noticed they didn't put my additional order of tortillas. It's been a VERY long time since I've had Juan Pollo. Since my hubby and I are over in Rancho Cucamonga, we've been getting our fix at Tasty Chicken (which was previously Juan Pollo). One day we decided just to compare so we drove over to the Upland location and ordered the Mini Pak. Since we had our dog with us, I waited outside with her. My husband said that he waited a while for our order because when our food was ready the woman in the front who took his order did not bring the food out. The cook from the back had to come out and hand him our order. (We were the only customers.) The chicken itself was decent; a bit on the salty side and could have been juicier. The potato salad was very bland and had large chunks of potato. Overall, still an okay experience, but hands down the potato salad at Tasty Chicken in Rancho is so much better. This past Saturday, we went in to Juan Pollo get some of their delicious potato salad to add to our BBQ by the pool. We don't go to Juan Pollo's often but out of three times we have visited, we have had horrible customer service or a problem with our orders. My wife ordered two large containers of potato salad by phone and we then drove over to pick them up. Not thinking it was necessary, we just paid for out containers of potato salad and left to the BBQ we were having with a small group of friends by the pool. When meal time rolled around, we were shocked to find our two containers of potato salad really contained one with rice and one with beans! Needless to say, my wife was very unhappy about this. Everyone still ate the rice and beans but we had all disappointed that we didn't have the potato salad we all wanted. My wife called to voice her complaint but the staff answering was not interested in assisting us nor interested in making our order good by replacing the rice and beans with the potato salad we had ordered. This is just poor customer service and I do not anticipate user returning to Juan Pollo in the future. We can get good potato salad elsewhere or just spend the time to do it ourselves without having to back to Juan Pollo. Yes, it is a small thing. Yes, it shouldn't have happened. But, how do you get potato salad mixed up with rice and beans? Then provide poor customer service on top of that? No thanks! read more

I have been eating here since I was a wee lad. Their chicken tacos include a very generous portion of chicken. They really don't skimp here, and when you add the pico. Muah! Perfection in a shell. (Not a half shell, that's a turtle.) If you're on a diet their chicken salad is delicious. Personally, I like to exchange the dressing for salsa. But I'm a glutton for a good spicy salsa. Yum yum. It's simple, healthy, and delicious. If you're not on a diet may I recommend the nachos. Such a healthy portion of everything. Chips, chicken, beans, and cheese. They give jalapeños on request and...again, I cannot stress the pico. Maybe I have a problem... The bean and cheese burritos are so full and have so much cheese. It's perfect to feed a few people or one person over a period of 2 or 3 meals. The chicken meals are such a good family dinner fix. Reasonably priced and a treat to your taste buds. I stopped by Juan Pollo in Upland late this afternoon to pick up dinner when we were hungry. I ordered the mini dinner which is a whole chicken with 3 sides. After opening the box I grabbed a leg. Just now when serving our dinner I realized that we didn't have our whole chicken. You can see it is a pretty small amount but the real deal was we only had one leg, meaning we did not have a whole chicken. I called the store and the staff was rude and not helpful. The manager said that they would replace it within the week but we could not eat any! Really ??? I explained I lived in Rancho and this was our dinner. They didn't even take my name for replacement!! I have never complained before but when you pay $28 for a chicken with sides...you expect to get a flippen chicken!! And now we just got into the sides...rice is not cooked all the way....still hard!! My husband just ate his burritos and said it was terrible!! I will never return to this store! If I could give this specific Juan Pollo ZERO stars I would!! Initially, my order was thru delivery (Uber Eats). I ordered the mini pak that has chicken, rice, beans, potato salad, tortillas, and salsa. And when I received my order I was missing my rice. So I proceed to call the store and let them know. When the manager gets on the phone she starts saying "I can check the cameras" and that she's sure she put it in there. I tell her if I could just go pick it up because my kids were looking forward to eating the rice. So there I go driving 15 minutes with all of my kids to the store. When I get there I let them know that this is actually the SECOND time they mess up on my order (I came back in February and they had forgot something like this time) and that I had to drive 15 minutes to them when my kids still haven't even been able to eat their dinner yet. So for THEIR integrity and pride if they can compensate me with some more chicken since now my chicken is at my home COLD. And the RUDE manager proceeds to say "no I told you over the phone that I could give you the rice and that's what I did". She proceeds to say that she understands but she's not going to give me more chicken. And that she's going to check the cameras because she's 100% sure she put my rice. I'm irritated at this point and tell her that I wouldn't go out of my way and take time out my day with my kids at night for some rice. And that as a mother I was trying to have a day off of making dinner which is the reason I ordered from there. And now my dinner is RUINED. She had no empathy or compassion to anything that I was saying. So I asked for the number to corporate (which she writes on a napkin) and walks away. DO NOT COME HERE! I decided to give this place a try since I was in the area and wanted a quick bite. I ordered a chicken bowl and asked for beans on the side. Not hard right? Apparently, either I get them in there or just leave them out (and still get charged for them) which is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. I know they have different container sizes. They could have easily chose to give me good customer service, but went the lazy route I guess. When I finally received my order the flour tortillas that it came with were chewy and burnt at the same time I have no idea how, the bowl was full of bones, it had like three green onions, and none of it had any taste. JUAN POLLO is one of the best roasted chicken restaurants around. The chicken is seasoned to the bone and so very delicious and tender, never dry. Good for family meals (they offer specials for meals) as well as ordering for parties. The beans are delish as well as their rice, which is so very good. It is not mexican rice but white rice cooked in a broth and chicken pieces. Good salsa, too. I always order over the phone to pick up, and the people there are so friendly, polite, and professional, so don't go in their acting a fool. If you haven't tried Juan Pollo, you are missing out. They're so much better than the nationally known Pollo spot, and the only negative thing about Juan Pollo is they don't deliver, so, other than that, they're perfecto!!! read more
