OMG how have I not reviewed JT's yet?! It's not like I haven't eaten there about a gazillion times (and enjoyed every single delicious, smoky bite). JT (a.k.a. Jeremy) is a friendly guy who had a dream: to open up a food truck specializing in ahhhhhmazing BBQ. Well, folks, he accomplished it and then some. His truck even has a back "porch" with a huge working smoker/BBQ belching out the most amazing smells ever. Just walking by gives people a craving for the yummy goodness he's cooking up inside. I've even heard of vegans who were converted to meat-eaters just by walking past - it smells THAT good. From the loaded (with a capital L) baked potato, which is enough to feed a small army, to the cheese-stuffed meatballs to the pork belly JT is doing it right. And his pulled pork is sinful, truly sinful, and I mean that in a tastes-so-good-you-just-have-to-try-it sort of way. He offers several sauces to accompany, my favorite is the tangy mustard. By the way, if you like spicy try the smoked jalapeno poppers. No really, just try 'em! Just go. And go hungry. I usually get the baked potato with pulled pork its amazing and large enough for me to share...my husband likes the bacon wrapped poppers they are to hot for my pallet, yesturday we got the pulled pork nachos and the two for six dollar bacon wrapped meatballs stuffed with pepper jack it was amazing! SO glad I finally checked this place out! I love BBQ and there aren't a lot of places up north. I wanted to try everything, but I settled on the brisket sandwich, Mac and cheese, potato salad, and coleslaw. Everything was so good! You can get similar sides at a grocery store, but JT's takes them to the next level. I really loved all the sauces too: spicy, regular and mustard. The pulled pork was delicious, as one would expect from a BBQ joint, but so was the mac and cheese! I've always found a lot of restaurant mac and cheese to be pretty subpar, either way too creamy or way too thick. But this was perfect in every way. The portion size was perfect and fairly-priced. To be honest, they could be charging twice as much and I would still consider it a fair price because of how good it was. Omg! A friend brought me to Kulshan's and there was JTs, ready to feed me and mine. Oh, it was wonderful. The ribs are awesome. "Do I need a knife?" I asked. Nooooo. I tend to prefer savory over sweet, so often I avoid any BBQ that is sauced. This, however, was perfect. Nice in between and very delish. Sides were nice too. Got some BBQ while at Kulshan and it was the highlight over the beer. Had the massive baked potato with pulled pork, sweet BBQ sauce, shredded cheddar, green onions, and sour cream. Friends had pulled pork and chicken sandwiches and we shared the smoked jalapeño poppers. The potatoe was baked perfectly, soft and hot. The pork was very tender with a good amount of smoke and was still juicy. The sauce was sweet how I like it. It was a giant serving and I took half of it home. The sandwiches everything really liked, but they all had to finish it with a fork, big and messy with lots of pork and chicken. I'm from the south and after I moved to the PNW I couldn't find good BBQ ANYWHERE! Then I found Jt's and was blown away by how good it is.

I just ate 1/2 of a rack of ribs, and my mouth is still "watering!" Superb, beyond delicious, smoky, juicy, tender, and clearly loved. Tonight was my first experience with this wonderful provider, and the friendly service was every bit as good as the food. I jumped in the car during halftime of a Seahawks' game, got my ribs, and made it home in time for the 3rd quarter. As good as the game was, the ribs were BETTER! They are at Kulshan's on Tuesday and Friday nights, and i am now a big fan. The best BBQ I have tasted in Whatcom County - do yourself a favor and go eat their food!! You will not be disappointed.
