Do not hire Glen…read more We hired Glen to do insurance approved repairs to my father-in-law's bathroom after a fallen branch caused the roof to leak. After being given $3000 (half the money for the job) we did not see Glen again for at least a week. Once he did show back up he did very little work and only came back about once every week or two. In two months he only tore the bathroom apart and claimed to have repaired the roof before disappearing again and dodging phone calls. He imformed us he had to use our money to fix his truck and was trying to finish some other jobs to offord to finish our bathroom. This process started in mid to late September. The bathroom is still in pieces and he has not spoken to us since December, and that was only to tell us to sue him if we want to. My father-in-law is handicapped and has been having to use the guest bathroom for the past 7 months. The roof still leaks and we are now having to use the remaining money to buy the materials and complete the work ourselves, as he tore everything out of the bathroom and left the trash in our front yard before vanishing with our money. The person assembled it; however, was unable to make it work. We spoke with the vendor and discovered that the correct steps were not followed. We hired a couple of additional handymen and they failed to make it operational. Then, I found Jason on yelp. I explained the situation and he immediately identified the issue. He stopped by my house the following work day. In a matter of minutes, he resolved the issue that three handymen prior could not solve. About 15 minutes later we were back at our residence again when she received a call from an unfamiliar number and it was a rep. from Adkison Overhead door company and I indicated I was not familiar with the company but not really wanting to contact our local ODC for due to current business practices we found unacceptable I listened to his conversation and subsequently went forward with an appointment which was completed at the specified time and day. Their tech took a look at the door which was jammed in due to broken bearings and supports. We did not ask for a price but to repair this one and as he was here to take a look at the other one as well. Lots of repairs ensued and performed by a highly qualified, professional technician with no dallying around during work performance. Tech had all the required parts on-board as well as all tools necessary. Task was difficult and quite time consuming. Tech left our residence about 9:30 P.M. this evening with doors repaired and additional upgrades made regarding roller replacements with Teflon rollers, much quieter now and very smooth. Great job, really enjoyed the competence, professional and friendly technician.
