They are responsive - phone calls are always answered or, at worst, returned the same day. They are polite and professional - and we always get straight answers. There has never been an "upsell" - we've never been told that we need a new roof. The message has always been - this is what's broken and here's how we fix it. I always get a detailed (and understandable) report, usually with arial photos taken by drone. Work has always been done on time and professionally. Once repairs were made we've never had a problem in the same general area. Finally, Mike is the consummate professional. He is a true professional and gentleman. I cannot offer higher praise.

Today (Palm Sunday) we had a leak in the part of the roof Mike hadn't originally installed. I gingerly texted Mike to ask his advice. What I got back was well more than anything I could have expected. Mike called to tell me his supervisor, Travis, was already en route to our house. I then got a call from Travis saying he was twenty minutes out. 18 minutes later, he was at the door. He reviewed the leak inside, got his ladder and climbed up the roof and within ten minutes, was back down and showing me pictures of where he'd determined a dryer vent had let water in. Mike called me back to tell me he had a team he could send. Now. I told him it's Palm Sunday, I don't want to take your guys away from their families. Mike said, they are busy all week, this is my best chance to get this fixed. It won't take more than four hours. I agreed and within an hour, there they were at the door, ready to go. They cleared the tile, laid proper under layers - three layers in total. Then buttoned it all up again and were done within two and a half hours. I got a full set of pictures from Mike explaining every step of what was done. All this would be great on a weekday. But a Sunday? Palm Sunday? I am just in awe. From a customer perspective, it's like having a choice of hiring superheros like Mike and his team, or saying no thank you - I prefer the usual sheisters and snake oil salesmen that typically make up the roofing business. You can spin the wheel and take your chances - but for me - I just feel damn lucky to have found someone who provides this level of service and this quality of work all for a really modest price.

The call went great, a man came out the next day and looked at our leak, and we got a contract to do our roof, 2 sola-tubes and 2 solar attic fans and new rain gutters. That was April 1st, today is September 23, 2026. the project is finally done and has been nothing but a nightmare. Nearly 5 months of being completely ignored until the company needed another payout, then they would surprise us with a late afternoon call, saying "we'll have a crew out there in the morning". It was as if they had never heard of scheduling. Halfway through, I told the office I wanted the owner. John called me and spoke like he had some sense, but things got even worse after I involved him and I am not sure if it was him or maybe I torqued his staff by asking to speak to him. I wasn't rude or loud; I just insisted that someone call me to give me a heads up about progress and when it will happen. They cannot do that for some unknown reason. Well the Gutter company was awesome and I'll be reviewing them here with praise. I am retired and have owned 2 businesses of my own. I have a notion this company is in financial trouble, and they rush out to me a pay deadline to get the big payment and then they go radio silent on you. It was affecting my health to try to reason with these people. During the hottest months of the year here in S. Florida, this company rushed out to tear off our old roof and install the black rubber membrane required by Fl Law. Mind you this was during the hottest months and now our entire roof is nothing but a black membrane sucking in all the heat it can. This was the way the left our house for over a month. One of our AC units went out after running 24/7 wide open. I have R30 in my attac but the house, especially the closets top shelves were super hot. When I called the company and told them our AC died, the girl was very abrupt: "THAT IS NOT OUR ISSUE IT'S IN OUR CONTRACT". This is how she speaks to a customer who has been left without any updates for weeks on end. Unless you have 6 months to sit around your home, hoping your roofer just might show up today, do NOT HIRE THIS ROOFER. BTW, when they finally installed the roof shingles, they had not installed the solo tube yet. That means they cut away about 6 feet of the rubber membrane that is mandated by our state. The advised me that doing it backwards is ok, which is no relief to me. You've been advised and so has my accountant. REASON FOR AMMENDMENT AND 3 STARS INSTEAD OF ONE I amended my review so I could add details about the workers for this company. They were all wonderful, whoever came out to do the actual work. I set up a seating area under a huge oak tree for the men to eat their lunches. I definitely do not want my earlier notes to reflect poorly on the actual workers. Only the owner and office staff were completely lacking in communication skills. I know what I am talking about, my last job before retiring was Customer Support Manager for a nationwide IT company providing AV recording equipment for courtroom and police departments all across America. This roofing company does ZERO customer updates, they just text one evening, after being radio silent for 2-4 weeks "we'll have someone out tomorrow morning". SMH The first crew that came, I ended up giving their foreman a 12' ladder I no longer used and one fella I gave a rooster for his flock. Every worker that was sent out was a good person, working a hard job. My frustration, as you may understand, was exhausted by waiting 2 weeks to a full month without a peep from the company to let me know when they will come out again. The issue still remains that they took a full 5 and a half months just to replace the roof and install attic fans and one sola-tube. So, the moral of the story is All the onsite workers were great people and we enjoyed each other's company. The office staff and the owner, zero follow through. I would wait anywhere from 2 weeks to a month before calling them for an update and the first words they would all say is "we didn't forget you". All I would say is "I can't tell from here".

The father (whom may have retired by now) came over to quote us. I think he stayed for an extended period of time, bc he was just the most charming likable guy! We felt like we just had company over, not like we had gotten a quote. Then... the son... Jeff? He was fantastic, and didn't disappoint after meeting his dad. We were almost set up to start, but... at the same time we had our siding being done so we had to stall bc it's tricky to have both things getting done at the same time. Jeff was so accommodating. Eventually the siding was completed and cost more than we had anticipated. So I had to put a hold on a new roof. We still need one, and my bf keeps having roofing contractors come by to give us quotes and I have told him I will not entertain any other place until you get Local Roofing Pro back for a re-quote. When we are ready to get it done, I will almost certainly go with this place. We had like 15 quotes back then. None compared to the PEOPLE and service and price.

He took care of us and gave us a deal on tackling all three of our roofs: the main house, the back studio, and the tool shed. Beyond the roof itself, we had lots of fascia to replace, and his team did a great job with it. Not only do the new roofs look great, but they were done in no time--and even sent one of his guys back to do some touch up painting in an area that needed it with the back studio. All in all, solid work from a solid dude. You won't regret it!

I have never used Gire Roofing (GR) or met anyone at the company prior to this job. For bids, I selected three Champaign county roofing companies for quotes based on their online information and seeing their trucks around town. After my initial call to leave my contact information with the receptionist at GR, Mr. Ed Gire called me back in a day, came over, reviewed and measured the current roof while I was at work, and sent me a quote and contract by email. I appreciated that it was not a "floating" estimate, but a contractual, fixed price to do the work. I was offered high-quality, architectural shingles (if you wish to look it up online, mine were Certainteed Landmark shingles; GR may offer other shingles, too, I don't know) and a choice of 30# felt or DiamondDeck underlayment. Included in the itemized quote was the waterproof ice shield (for eaves and valleys), aluminum drip edges, flashing, ridge vent, the works. Then, Mr. Gire came over to answer all questions, showed me shingle samples, gave me copies of work comp and safety insurance, etc. I never felt any sales pressure. We walked around the house together so we were both on the "same page" as to what was to be done. Of the three total bids that I got, Gire Roofing's was slightly less than one company, and considerably less than another company. I went with Gire based on seeing their work on the local elementary school in my town--they do a lot of schools, hotels, city building, etc. Once we had a signed contract, a clear spot in the calendar with good weather was determined, and the Gire team showed up on schedule and worked from 8AM until sunset at 6PM daily, five days total (big roof) until the job was completed. The gentlemen were soft-spoken and dutiful, no cigarettes or loud boom boxes, just hammers and progress. They are extremely hard-working and professional, amazing to watch. They used ropes and safety harnesses to get to some pretty weird angles on my roof, which was impressive. Changing out a roof is like surgery to a house, and to find a team that worked so well together--they were like a well-oiled machine--made a reassuring difference to us. I also liked that GR owns its own dumpsters (to take old shingles) and cranes (to put shingle bundles on the roof) so there is no chance of an outside rental equipment vendor slowing up the process. Everything was followed to the contracted specs, as each day I would take photos and study the work with binoculars. I even called Ed Gire a couple times during the days the team was working, just to ask questions that I hadn't thought of before, and was always provided with answers. Great job! The new roof looks fabulous and makes my home look new. Mr. Gire made a special trip back the day after the work was done just to answer any further questions. He even got out a ladder and went on the roof to check the work and answer something I wished to know about the ridge vent. I received a final invoice for payment, by email, and it was exactly as per our contracted amount. I will certainly update this review if I find leaks, blown shingles, or need for warranty service (lifetime shingles, 20 years labor) but I believe that my roof is the most protective that it has ever been. I'll leave this review on a couple of websites to put a "bug in the ear" of others considering a roofer since, without reviews, it's pretty much word-of-mouth or a stab in the dark. As I said, I have no affiliation with the company other than being a satisfied customer, and I have no reservations about using Gire Roofing in the future. In fact, my next-door neighbor watched the entire process on my house and got a quote from GR the same week my roof was completed. Highly recommended.
