My first paycheck was provided two days late due to an oversight, as it was forgotten. Approximately one month later, all employees' paychecks were delayed by one day without any advance notice; staff were only informed on the day the checks were expected. Additionally, holiday hours were not distributed evenly among employees, which created confusion and concerns regarding fairness. While I understand and respect the company's policy regarding cell phone use on the sales floor, break policies were not consistently followed. During five-hour shifts, only one ten-minute break was provided, and the standard thirty-minute break was not offered. While it is possible that employees could request this break, doing so appeared to cause stress or discouragement, which made employees hesitant to speak up. In terms of management, most managers were generally kind; however, there were instances where communication felt rude or unprofessional. Furthermore, employees were strongly discouraged from speaking with coworkers during shifts. It was communicated, implicitly or explicitly, that doing so could result in reduced hours, including being scheduled for only one four-hour shift in a week as a form of punishment. To add, the environment looks very dirty. I am sharing these concerns to bring attention to workplace practices that affected morale, communication, and employee well-being. I believe to be the only employee who would speak up about these issues. We were on the hunt for squishy dumplings, butter, and Needohs. We waited about 45 minutes and they opened promptly at 4. We were third in line. We got in fairly quickly. It's a tiny little shop, but full of stuff that's sold out everywhere marked up about 5x. However, how much is your time worth when searching endlessly? The guys inside were super nice and helpful. I felt totally rushed, but not because of the employees, but because there was so many other people waiting outside. They were very patient with my son as he couldn't figure out what he wanted. He ended up choosing a Pokémon toy that I'm certain I could have got somewhere else. He cried when we left because he really wanted a dumpling like his sister so I'm sure we will be back to wait in that line sometime soon! My daughter immediately opened her big and small dumpling as soon as she walked out the doors and the smaller one had a hole in it. She marched right back in and the older gentleman gave her no grief and immediately replaced it. My fiancee is crazy about hers, and always wanted to check out The Labu'Tique Shop ever since the pop-up opened in Petco Park during SDCC. And since we both had some time available due to the Labor Day holiday, off we went! Let's get this out of the way: not only is The Labu'Tique Shop small (hence the reservation system that was in place during the summer), parking is pretty much non-existent... meaning it's surface street parking. But once you're inside, prepare to be assaulted by all forms of Labubu-themed cuteness, from the myriad of outfits and accessories to choose from (between $12-25, depending on the outfit), and various Labubus of different sizes, styles, and price ranges. My lady got a few pairs of glasses for her Soymilk Labubu, as well as a couple of outfits. Even I wasn't immune to their charms; I picked up the In-N-Out outfit and the San Diego Padres set that look like they'll fit my Disney NuiMos (they had sold out during the SDCC pop-up event; the staff admitted they'd been caught off guard by the demand for the merch). The staff are young, but friendly and helpful. And the vibe indoors matches their energy (especially since the flatscreen TV was playing the K-Pop Demon Hunters musical performances on repeat). If there's a sale going on and we have time and money to spend, we'll be back.
