Soft and moist on the inside while having a slight crunch on the outside and was perfectly sweet without being too much. My only reason in taking 1 star away is that the apple fritter was pancake thin, LARGE but very thin. I like to have a thicker apple fritter with big chunks of fruit, but the outer texture was good so i would rate it a 7/10 All in all, I will definitely be coming back, just possibly not ordering the apple fritter again. read more

J's Donuts on 10/26/2023 This is the second time I have been to this breakfast donut spot. I waited to write a review because I could not believe what I was tasting the first time. There has to be some kind of secret ingredient that they are using. I have never tasted a donut that taste this good. Now the other donuts they have in their selection are pretty awesome also but the ones that I am sharing in this picture has to be some kind of secret technique. I've been here a few times now, thinking it would change. The lady in the front is rude, I'm guessing she's the owner because she's been there the few times I've gone. I love me a full, tasty donut but they seem to have gotten smaller and skinnier with their donuts, disappointing. Biggest hole I've seen on a donut. This is what all donuts should be. Texas just knows how to do donuts, and when you walk inside you know immediately these are going to be great. Their flavors are simple because they don't need to be showy and the prices are cheap because it's a damn donut and they aren't overcomplicating it. And the sprinkle on top of it all... KOLACHES! First time at J's Donuts, and the family-run business was a great experience. There were two customers who walked in in front of me, but they were already helped and walking out by the time I got to the counter! Since it was my first time there, I didn't know exactly what I wanted. The sweet woman behind the counter answered all my questions and did not make me feel rushed. Came here at 7:55 on March 9th, 2024. Walked in, no greeting. I asked if they had any bacon sausage rolls and she looked at me funny and said "what" as if it was a uncommon request. I then asked for a half dozen donut holes, and a regular sausage roll. A white male comes in and she gave him the most warmest welcome. She threw my food on the counter and gave me my change. No "thank you" "have a good day" or anything. I then asked for a bag because I had two bags and a drink, she threw the bag on the counter too. you are better off dumpster diving at Krispy kremes than to waste your money on these things. they are awful! ordered an apple fritter and it was dry, no apples and overtired, not to mention flat as a pancake. this place is no frills for sure, especially if you think a good donut is frilly. read more

I have been here twice, once at 7 am and the other at 10:30 am. Both times, they were OUT of glazed donuts :( I don't understand how a donut place is out of classic glazed donuts all of the time? She then pointed to the display glass showing about 5 different rows of donuts saying that is all they have.. No sprinkle, chocolate glaze either. Their jalapeño kolaches are not bad though! They were still warm when I got home. Perfect ratio of bread to hot dog. Just wish I had some sweet glazed donuts to balance it out. read more

We probably go to J's every Saturday morning and we couldn't love it more. They have a great selection of classic donuts and everything is always fresh. Our favorite is the mini cinnamon roll type donut though, it is perfection. I don't expect too much out of a little donut shop, but this just wasn't any good. We conducted a very scientific study of the three donut shops in the neighborhood one morning. I have been coming to this place for about 3 months the service is somewhat suspect but the kolaches are good donuts not so much! But today was my last purchase. This morning, I stop by to purchase a some kolaches and water and on my way out I realize that I forgot to buy the water so I turn around to pay for it! The first thing she says is that i have to buy over over 3 dollars with card. Jung I. Lee was one of the people who attended the other young girl who I don't know whoever told this business that forcing people to buy more than 3 dollars to use a debit/credit was a good idea! I only carry card, the lady just said no, I said I just spent 10 plus dollars at your shop, she said "yeah sorry" in my opinion, this is just bad business practices of "GREED"in all honesty this is what I fell im dealing with the attendant, greed!! As a business owner myself I would have just given the water bottle away INSTEAD or losing a customer!! I dont recommend this place because of this policy of asking people to spend more just to use a card, this is pure GREED!
