Upon entry, I was greeted by the cashier who was prompt to get my order all with a smile on her face. I ordered the sour cream donut & Apple fritter. The sour cream donut is 1000/10! Soft and moist on the inside while having a slight crunch on the outside and was perfectly sweet without being too much. My only reason in taking 1 star away is that the apple fritter was pancake thin, LARGE but very thin. I like to have a thicker apple fritter with big chunks of fruit, but the outer texture was good so i would rate it a 7/10 All in all, I will definitely be coming back, just possibly not ordering the apple fritter again. read more

There has to be some kind of secret ingredient that they are using. I have never tasted a donut that taste this good. First time at J's Donuts, and the family-run business was a great experience. There were two customers who walked in in front of me, but they were already helped and walking out by the time I got to the counter! Since it was my first time there, I didn't know exactly what I wanted. The sweet woman behind the counter answered all my questions and did not make me feel rushed. This is what all donuts should be. Texas just knows how to do donuts, and when you walk inside you know immediately these are going to be great. Their flavors are simple because they don't need to be showy and the prices are cheap because it's a damn donut and they aren't overcomplicating it. And the sprinkle on top of it all... KOLACHES! Came here at 7:55 on March 9th, 2024. Walked in, no greeting. I asked if they had any bacon sausage rolls and she looked at me funny and said "what" as if it was a uncommon request. I then asked for a half dozen donut holes, and a regular sausage roll. A white male comes in and she gave him the most warmest welcome. She threw my food on the counter and gave me my change. No "thank you" "have a good day" or anything. I then asked for a bag because I had two bags and a drink, she threw the bag on the counter too. She then pointed to the display glass showing about 5 different rows of donuts saying that is all they have.. No sprinkle, chocolate glaze either. Their jalapeño kolaches are not bad though! We probably go to J's every Saturday morning and we couldn't love it more. They have a great selection of classic donuts and everything is always fresh. Our favorite is the mini cinnamon roll type donut though, it is perfection. I have been coming to this place for about 3 months the service is somewhat suspect but the kolaches are good donuts not so much! But today was my last purchase. This morning, I stop by to purchase a some kolaches and water and on my way out I realize that I forgot to buy the water so I turn around to pay for it! As a business owner myself I would have just given the water bottle away INSTEAD or losing a customer!! I dont recommend this place because of this policy of asking people to spend more just to use a card, this is pure GREED!
