My tastebuds are satisfied The bowl consisted of brown rice, spinach, tomatoes, green peppers, mushrooms, onions, egg whites and I had them to add bacon then I topped it off with some Texas Pete hot sauce Soooo darn good!!! The Fries were burnt, the server was mean. The burger was also burnt. It was not a good experience. I didn't argue or return my order. I won't be coming here again. I did not get what I paid for. I try to support local business here in Gary unfortunately there needs to be an improvement. I don't recommend. read more

Since relocating from Georgia ot was important to find good places to eat with great customer service. Js Breakfast Club has both of those things covered. My family visited and the Sunday brunch was fantastic! I even had personal service from THE owner herself for a work meeting. I've never waited an hour for a egg white omelette until this day here. There were only two servers and they seemed like they were up to their eyeballs in getting everyone served and there was only a few people in the establishment. They kept going over to this one table that seemed like they couldn't get his order right. When they got to our table, the order were not correct so we waited another 20 minute until my partner decided he'd take the order which he didn't order just to out of that place we spent so much time for, by the way the food was terrible. I heard they're opening another store, I hope it's nothing like this one and I hope they got some heat cause it was cold af in there. read more

It's in a new location on 25th and Broadway... all Im going to say is IT'S GARY! Terrible service we waited almost an hour after being seated to be greeted. Food was 5 out of 10 and it was very GHETTO. Would recommend take out if you want to try or enjoy. read more

The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and inviting. All patrons were friendly and the smells of the food greeted you from the street. About the food....hmmmmm...well.....the food was decent. It wasn't amazingly delicious, yet it hit the spot. I was expecting "over the top" since it took over an hour and a 1/2 to be served. The service was fair, yet accommodating, but slllooowww as molasses. My salmon croquettes and egg white omelette could have been seasoned more. Next time I try them, I'll order carry out. I stopped in for breakfast and was treated to Silver Monday's as well. My breakfast was so good. My sister and I shared fried green tomatoes and hash browns. They were very good. I like my eggs scrambled medium and most restaurants can't get it right. My eggs were cooked to perfection! I will definitely go back!!! read more

Yes!!! I travel a lot and wanted a good breakfast spot on Sunday. I asked around and grabbed my sister and nephew and said let's go! The food was absolutely delicious. The wait was worth it and the empty plates tell the story. In the words of my nephew "this is the best chicken I have ever had" (and he is a picky 9 year old). The cheesy grits, pork chop, pancakes (with honey butter), bacon...no complaints! We dined in and had an exceptionally pleasant experience with the owner right by our side. Outside of place is not that appealing but the inside is like a nice normal diner w/ an additional protective glass surrounding the cashier's desk...gotta love our (African American) Community! The staff were all courteous and attentive. The omelette that I ordered was filled with and load of Turkey Sausages, Bacon, Green Peppers, Onion & Cheese...Very-Very Tasty! Waffle possessed a great crispy texture but not as soft as I like on the inside - but still decent! Did like the plastic plates. Felt somewhat like a kid...ceramic would definitely be better! Passing broadway I noticed what looked like a restaurant people would tend to go to after church ( maybe because it's right next to a church lol). So I decided to stop by and when I walked in I was shocked it was so beautifully decorated and I could feel uplifting spirits. I'm somebody who takes forever to look at the menu and they didn't care. They were so patient with me and even helped me find things on the menu. They took their time to explain what was on the menu and answered all of my questions. I will definitely be back especially to get the butter they have , it's not regular butter I assure you. It's addictive , very creamy and has a hint of cinnamon i believe. read more

The food was very good. My husband loved the shrimp and grits, I had pancakes( love them )and my mother-in-law had Chicken and waffles. The owner was there and came by to greet us which was nice. Our server did not seem comfortable with taking our order on the iPad devise and I would skip the coffee. The inside is very cute a difference type of layout but people will like. I ain't saying Cracker Barrel ain't good but if you want something like it came straight out yo mama kitchen this the spot. All those big market joints have a good Tate's but it also taste manufactured but GOOD LAWD this place here got it pop' n !!! The salmon breakfast is so on point I had to add hash browns, grits, and a side of bacon. I walked in it was made fresh and I walked out in about 12 minutes. They moved from 11th/13th Grant to 36th Broadway which is very spacious with lots of tables and cool waiting spot for carry outs. Man I don't even know the owner but hell I'm proud of them like I'm related to them or something. Y'all cats that live in Gary Indiana better come out and support this place and for the ones that don't you better come get u something to eat. This place seems to attempt to market themselves as a "soulfood" type breakfast restaurant by offering dishes such as fried pork chops, grits, and chicken and waffles. Therefore, I expected a higher quality meal than I get at IHOP or Denny's, but did not get it. I would suspect the few good reviews the restaurant has received were done by family or friends because it fell way short of my expectations comparing it to other similar type restaurants around the country. Here are my specific comments: 1. The grits taste like "quick" grits that are cooked in 5 minutes. They are obviously not "old fashion" southern grits, which usually will take at least 30 minutes when prepared in advance and kept hot as they are served. 2. They ran out of the "supposedly" great tasting pork chops at 10am (4 hours before closing). This tells me that the management does not know how to properly manage their vendors and supply. 3. The sausage patties tasted like frozen sausage (not fresh sausage) and the patties were dry and petrified. 4. The cranberry juice tasted very watered down. It definitely did not taste like Ocean Spray or a similar good brand of juice (unless they have added water to it). 5. The waitress was very nice, but also very slow. 6. The restaurant was empty in the middle of prime breakfast time on a weekday, which should have been an indicator of the poor quality of the food. 7. Prices are cheap, but in the end, you get what you pay for. I will not be returning. read more

I have tried the food at the branch they have inside Ivy Tech and unfortunately I was disappointed. The lady was playing on her phone and seem to be bothered when I told her I wanted to order something. The food was cold, and the coffee was cold, and one of the creamers was spoiled so it ruined my coffee. I haven't try the food at the actual restaurant, so I'm not sure if the service and food experience will be the same. read more
