Great place to get a cut. Been going here since I moved to Menifee 8 years ago. Not much has changed and don't have a preference when it comes to cuts because all their barbers are really good. I've been to Js barber shop every week since sep 2nd. Bear in mind I'm bald so I get the sides of my head buzzed and I trim my beared with number 2 razor . The price is a little high but it fluctuates weekly between 25.00 ,28.00 and sometime $30.00. And I tip 5.00. No posted pricing . I would give more if I had more hair to cut but I feel that's reasonable. Not much talent or education goes into my hairstyle . I never really go in asking for the price because everyone is really cool. This time I walked in and someone I have never seen before charged me 35.00 and she was expecting a tip . I gave her 5.00 and i told her she charged too much and I can't use her anymore . She was fine with that. The team does a good job but there is no set price going to walk in next time and negotiate my price before . I'm pretty bummed everyone is super cool like Marissa and Gilbert . Update . Today I made a 4:30pm appointment I arrived at 4:45pm the cash register was closed and they refused to cut my hair . Albert always stays late for me and again there's only two people at this that flexible . I can't do it anymore this place has poor service . read more

We went in to get my son ( 2 y/o) a hair cut and was excited since the reviews seemed to be good for toddlers as well as it being toddler friendly. I have sadly forgotten who we were seen by but she was very nice. However the hair cut my son received was not. I understand that him sitting on my lap was probably not easy but he was sitting still for most of it, the best a toddler could do. I showed the lady what hair cut I was looking for and she just kept saying yes she was going to do a "one all around" I'm not a guy I have no idea what that meant.. it means it's super freaking short! I asked for kind of a fade she said she's not able to, not sure why because the first hair cut my son received (from a much better barber) was able to get a great fade! I also wanted to keep the top longer and well as it is longer the cut is awful, the back top part is cut so short that it sticks up! If you are going here to get a hair cut I would just suggest to be very clear In what you want. I wish I had stopped her but sadly there wasn't much I could do I am not looking for a discounted hair cut or anything I'm just wanting to make people and the shop aware. read more

Look, it's nice they give military discounts. The staff is nice and welcoming. Other than that, the haircut received was a 6/10 at best. What is NOT okay....the disgusting mess everywhere. Hair from previous clients all over the floor and in the little kiddie play area. The decor is OLD, not vintage...old. It would be considered vintage if all the memorabilia was kept with care and respect, but everything is either covered in dust or hair. License plates, gloves and sports memorabilia randomly thrown on the wall only to collect dust. Clean up your place. Have some respect. Lackluster attitude. First things first... I felt I received a great haircut. Exactly what I wanted when I described the details to the barber. I showed up at 9am (opening time) on Saturday and was lucky to get a walk-in after a 5 minute wait. They said they get plenty of appointments. I think I'll set an appointment in the future to be safe from waiting. It was easy to find parking. I'll definitely be back. Also, very friendly service from the older guy with glasses. Amazing I went there about 40 minutes ago and my barber was Gilbert and gave me a really good haircut and design on the back and even was super friendly and let us pay only $20. I recommend Gilbert as a barber and the vibe was really incredible. read more

Carisaa was the first barber to give me a shave and I have grown a nice beard due to a foot injury and I couldn't stand on 1 foot to shave so I let it grow and it was time to come off and I didn't trust myself. She handled me with kid gloves and did an amazing job and was more than affordable I had no idea what it was gonna cost and I match the cost with a tip because she was worth every dime of it read more

First time customer and I'm glad I stopped by! Now keep in mind I've been going to the same stylist for the last few years, in Murrieta. And previous to that another stylist in Temecula for close to 20 years. So as you can see- change isn't my thing. Back to J's- I walked in (it's a cool looking place), and "Junior" stepped up to welcome me to his chair with a big smile and introduction. Appointments are not honored. I made an appointment with my preferred barber. Left home early and drove several miles to be there about 10 minutes early. When I arrived, I was told they had unexpected customers (read walk ins) and could I come back in 3 hours. Right. Before covid they did not have appointments. I've given this barbershop many opportunities to earn my business and keep my $ in this city. I've been disappointed by multiple barbers in this facility including the owner. EVERY TIME he cuts my sons hair he complains about how hard his hair is. Kinda let it go the first couple times but when it's literally EVERY single time, it gets annoying plus it's unprofessional to make us feel uncomfortable. What's mind blowing is that this is coming from the owner. Keep your negative comments to yourself at least until the customer leaves. Even when we'd switch barbers he would make sure to let them know (in a negative way) how hard my son's hair is to cut. Their appointment system is a joke. They'll give me a time and when I show up they'll say I scheduled it for a different time. This happened twice already. This being said, I'm taking my business elsewhere. read more

I recently moved to the area and a friend suggested this place. I walked in and there were three barbers working, two of them looked at me like I was a stranger who just walked into their house. No greeting or smile. It was not welcoming at all. I later realized they had a sign-in sheet instead of the usual first come-first served method, which is fine had they mentioned it or had any indication this is how it worked other than a tiny wooden sign. I realized this is how it works after 3 or 4 people were able to get their name before mine even though I was there first. I left. For all I know they give amazing haircuts and you might have a great experience, but don't expect friendly customer service. A customary "Hi, sign in over there and we will be with you shortly" or even a smile would have been welcoming, instead I got awkward looks and zero customer service. I couldn't be more impressed I took my son to fantastic Sam's yesterday and the girl couldn't look up from her phone long enough to encourage him to get in the chair my son is to two years old with long curly hair and the ladies at Jay's barbershop We're awesome with him they encouraged him to get in the chair made him perfectly comfortable did a great job on his haircut and turned the train on for him as a reward for sitting and being so great my whole family has long hair we are not the military cut style so we have never been here before but I am so happy I came and will certainly be back read more
