Waitress said the beef burgers were fresh, never frozen. Can build your own (I created a bacon pepper jack cheese burger). Wife had the jalapeños burger and son had a plain cheese burger. Rob (the asshole owner) promised our band a place to stay while we played at his hole in the wall venue. He said that he had an apartment upstairs for us to stay in prior to us being there. Got there, proceeded to ask where we'd be sleeping for the night and got a confused look from management. Management called Rob and then made me talk to him. Rob claimed that he never said he would provide us a room to stay but he would "do us a favor" and give us a room that had no electricity and running water. The room looked like it was out of a horror film. So of course that led us to get a hotel room (that he still didn't pay for). When Robbie boy booked us he said he'd pay us 1100 for the combined two nights which he ended up paying us, but before he payed us he was trying to scam us out of 400 dollars even after he didn't reimburse us for our hotel that he promised us. I've never had such a strong urge to strangle someone in my whole life. I've never felt so mistreated in my life. So there it is. If you want the worst experience of your life the Iron Rail in Brainerd is for you!

The old place closed and has reopened as a brew pub (although they don't offer their own branded beer, just beers from various local breweries). The new menu is limited and many old favorites are gone (although they kept a couple of the sandwiches). The new menu includes very overpriced hotdogs ($12 for a hotdog?!) and the drink menu is limited. What we were mostly disappointed about though was that the atmosphere lost a lot of its charm with the removal of the beautiful old lighting and ironwork. The bar is still there, but forelorn looking without a full liquor assortment. The backroom is now closed (we think that's where the eventual brewery equipment might go?). Its just not the Last Turn as we knew and loved it, and there isn't enough there to bring us back in any more.
