It's great for kids. Especially if they are fussy eaters. The food is ok, you absolutely get what you pay for. 4 of us stuffed our faces for under £100. (2 kids, 2 adults) don't go there expecting fine dining, expect high salt, low quality westernised ethnic food and some British classics. The curries are really bland. The teppanyaki area is very limited. There's 4 choices. Scallops, prawns, steak the other option I cannot remember. They are very regimental, you have 1:45:00 minutes to eat and they stand by your table waiting for you to leave when your time gets nearer to the end of your allocated time. Atmosphere is pretty hectic. You pay extra for drinks which are refillable. The best food they serve imo, is the Japanese dumplings when it comes to quality. Please book in advance. read more

The stand-alone best global food buffet I have had in the UK thus far. There is literally a floor-wide variety of food from hot Italian pizza and a pasta and salad bar to freshly prepared teppanyaki, Chinese dim sum, Japanese sushi, Indian curry, all sorts of fusion foods and fried foods; meat and vegetable assortments as well as several fresh fruits, a chocolate fountain, a few basic ice cream flavours, a long counter-full display of desserts from petit cakes to childhood sweets. To top it off there is also a counter dedicated to hot and cold drinks included in the buffet. Seating is timed but reasonable as otherwise we might all be unable to get up from our seats with all the food and drink we are tempted to stuff into our stomachs. Each time I've come here the restaurant is packed which helps to keep the food hot and continuously prepared. Everything is orderly and clean, payment is taken upon entry, and the fact that drinks are also self-service hugely helps in the independent-feel to the dining experience.  My one criticism is that the ice cream section has consistently been under the weather with the ice cream already being too soft and airy as well as the state of it all being unsightly e.g. the ice cream scoops being dirty and floating in murky water and the ice cream itself looking dishevelled with mixing of flavours and a hard-to-scoop texture.  Anyhow, as mentioned before, this global buffet is a lot to stomach - but in a good way! read more

I have been to this restaurant many times before with family and enjoyed food. However today 11 of us visited to celebrate festival and the food tasted extremely disappointing. The variety was similar although less than previous times but the taste of food was really bad. Chinese Indian and Italian all cuisines were below standard. Compared to the price paid the quality was below expected and even food presentation was unacceptable. Dome dishes were literally cold. The child price was also a joke as for my 11 year old daughter I has to pay adult price as she was too tall for some jokingly odd height measurements. The last time I came here it was cosmos I have come back and it's new owners. I am really happy they now include drinks in the price when you are eating out with a family it saves you so much money :) I am stuffed I had the fresh cooked lamb and prawns the seasoning they used was divine. I love the set out of the restaurant and family feel. Definately worth the money as my 2 year old are for free as she is under 90cms. Big thumbs up from me in terms of variety there were so many drinks included in the unlimited including Chinese tea, regular tea and various hot drinks. It also include 6 juices which is great if you don't like your children drinking fizzy drink. Great place if you are having a lazy Sunday and want somewhere laid back to eat. Booked this restaurant for our Xmas party worst choice ever. Food was stone cold, most options had run out or not been refilled and the quality of food was sub standard. Never had sushi that was warm and bland nor have I had stone cold steamed buns? Dirty plates and stale food didn't help luckily we had enough alcohol to see the funny side. P. PROS - Free on your birthday. Really good duck pancakes (ate over a dozen of them), dim sum was good and that's about it. At £15.99 per person during dinner, what you are getting is subpar. They had food from all regions: Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Indian, Italian (or should I say, Mediterranean) and American. Aside from the dim sum in the hidden corner across from the sushi bar and the DIY duck pancakes set in the center, everything was...ehh. The sashimi served at the Japanese station was still frozen and sushi below average. The curries at the Thai station was cold and most items had not been refilled. The American station was basically everything deep fried (onion rings, chicken nuggets in the shape of smiley faces for the kiddos, potato wedges, doughnuts, etc.) - so I passed on that. The Chinese stations (there was more than one) were everything you would hope to see at a generic buffet that serves Chinese food - everything that could be deep fried and coated in a sweet and sour sauce was there, as well as some basic veggie stir-frys. The Mediterranean station served salads and pizzas but who goes to a buffet to eat pizza? The Indian station was tucked behind the dim sum station (aka the only station worth checking out) and was filled with an assortment of curries and naans (I didn't try any Indian). The dessert station was interesting. It was divided into sections; the candy bar (a wide assortment of candy), the kid friendly "shots" bar (which was probably derived from squash), the cheesecake bar, the sweet-bites bar and the fruit bar. If you turn a deeper corner towards the wall you will find an ice cream bar and next it, a chocolate fountain. I was really looking forward to desserts as I saw macarons. I grabbed a plate full of macarons because come on, these bad boys cost a fortune at bakeries in London. Took a bite- or tried to. It was so hard, I could have thrown it at the wall and made a dent (like that one scene from Charlie's Angels with the muffins). There was also a grill bar. So you go into queue and they limit you to picking two proteins from a selection of seafood and meat. If you pick scallops for your two proteins, they will give you three scallops. 30 minute wait yielding three freshly grilled scallops. You can do this as many times as you want but 30 minutes for three scallops...? Drinks are not included with your £15.99 entry. Water is the only thing free at the bar (you have to go to the hot pink bar and "order" your drinks). Everything I ate made me so thirsty so I made frequent trips to the bar and finally giving in to buying a big bottle of sparkling water and a coke. The ambiance was nice. Lots of families with kids though. If it weren't for my partner's free birthday meal, we probably would not have gone. However, this was my first London buffet and I'm eager to try better ones! read more

Spoilt for choice with a wide range of food but with this being a mass order of different foods I feel some of the quality is not up to par with most restaurants. My favourite things here were the frozen slush drinks, the desserts and the freshly cooked prawns. But value for money and a good place to go with friends but remember you pay for a two hour slot inside! read more

Having been to JRC a number of times since it changed over from Cosmo I have mixed feelings. I had hoped that it would return to its former glory but unfortunately I am still waiting. Despite it being good value especially now that soft drinks have been added to the all inclusive price, every time I have been I always leave disappointed. This is because a lot of the hot food is cold, stale and there are always empty containers which take forever to be refilled. Lets hope they get their act together soon as it has great potential. I went to this place when it was called Cosmo, but this post is to share what happens when my cousins went today on Father's Day and were greeted with terrible service by the manager no less! Using Yelp to share his awful experience... In response to their JRC Global Buffet Facebook post his response as follows ... "Yes I tried to but your disgusting service refused to let my 5 yr old boy in who has severe food allergies to nuts, egg, wheat, seeds, oats, coconuts etc, without charging me child entry, even though we had our Epi pens and home cooked food in a thermo flask of proof of his allergies! I don't bring doctors notes with me everywhere I go, I never needed it in the past visiting restaurants and yes I have been to buffet places where they believed us even without proof, saying that isn't doctor prescribed Epi pen enough?? To add insult to injury you compared my sons situation to people coming in stating its their birthday trying to get a free meal! Any parent that had to suffer seeing their child taken to hospital injected with steroids to calm their reaction will understand that just even trying to assume we were trying to get a free meal will understand how insulting that is. I would pay you £100 of it means my 5yr old boy for once can enjoy a outside meal with us instead of home cooked food stored in a thermo flask! I do not understand why you as a manager was so reluctant to even see the food we cooked for him to see the Epi pens that we carry with us at all times! How about manager discretion?? What will you do if I hand in a doctors note? Will you photo copy it and send it to head office? Absolutely disgusting service!! So so disappointed with the place, went for lunch today, shocking no proper food, no sushi, no proper cakes nothing. Place old and dated and food very low standard . Toilet dirty and messed up. Not sure what you expect at a buffet. Mediocre food that is overpriced. The grilled beef was bland as were the stir fry noodles. However, I was pleasantly surprised the general tso chicken was good. read more
