    Pick your steak!
    Reggie H.

Buddy of mine suggested I'd make a stop here! It didn't disappoint. Temper takes, "have it you way"' to another level. Simple, pick your part of the steak you want, bam it's cooked to perfection. The cabbage was a slam too. Service and atmosphere were great also. See you soon...

Service was okay. Ambience was nice sitting by grill. Very noisy and plates were small. Good place for apps and a cocktail

The lamb had barely any meat and the prime rib was kinda dry. At least the goat was juicy and moist. Overall, I wasn't impressed by Temper. I don't think I'll be coming back.

Temper was a very interesting restaurant and overall I had a pretty good meal here. Temper specializes in Tapa's and the food is mostly all served as small plates. My colleagues and I were looking for a quick bite to eat after a busy day and most places couldn't get us in because of reservations, but Temper got us right in. When you walk in you first see a counter with a hostess. The you can either take the Lift or the stairs down to where the tables are. They have big long booths, tables and an open kitchen where you can see what they got cooking. The menu is very modern and the menu ranges from a wide selection of tapa's to a pretty large steak menu. We decided to just go with the Tapa's. As soon the our waiter came to take our drink orders I got some Aged Beef Nachos for the table. It was not nachos like I had expected, it was tortilla chips with a bowl of quesso with beef mixed in the cheese sauce. It was really good, but not really nachos. For my main dish I ordered 3 Wild Mushroom Tacos, Tossed Salad and the Smacked Cucumbers. All were pretty good except for the tossed salad. I thought I wanted some greens, but it was not tossed at all. I actually don't think their was any dressing on it at all. The tacos were interesting. 2 other people at my table also ordered the wild mushroom tacos, so instead of bringing out 3 plates they put them all on 1 big plate. That did not bother us as we are all friends. The Smacked Cucumbers were my favorite as they had a great pickle taste to them. They were heavenly! This place is not too expensive and the food quality is really good for what we pay. My friend has the cheeseburger taco and even though it did not look appetizing, she said it was really good and tasted pretty fresh! Overall I think this is a nice little restaurant in London Town! The food is fresh and its a fun place to go with friends and try different tapa's.

We had an unique and enjoyable experience. It was a really cozy chill atmosphere. We could relax from our trip while watching the cooks working on preparing our food. The service was very friendly. As French tourists we were pleasantly surprised to meet a French waiter who took the time to welcome us and explain the concept of the restaurant and gave us advice to guide our choice. We were not disappointed at all by the dishes that were so tasty and delicious. Although the side dish (gratin) was a bit too oily, the tacos were excellent and the meat was a real treat. It was a great discovery.

I'm not sure why the ratings are so low on Temper? This has to be one of my current favs! The restaurant itself is very spacious and the best slots are at the bar around the central cooking area. The staff are attentive and knowledgable around their broad Mezcal list and advise well and are passionate about the menu. The cheese burger taco we had was well cooked and tasty. However to be perfectly honest I would seriously consider going all in and just grabbing a bunch of mains and sides. This is where it's at! The Argentinian sausage, the smoked goat and pork carnitas in particular are to die for. For side the grilled Hispi is left field and refreshing - perfect for cutting through the richness. Wash all that down with a selection from their very well rounded wine list (mid range online with the restaurant pricing) - we had a bottle of Californian red. And you will leave happy.

One of Soho's current 'it' restaurants, buzzy, loud, atmospheric and rammed full off fun seeking people.  Having booked a table for 2 earlier in the day, we arrived at 8pm and were swiftly seated at the bar. An observant member of staff immediately noticed that we looked somewhat uncomfortable at the bar, which was clearly not designed for 6ft tall overweight individuals! We were reseated again in moments and were most impressed by our attentive waitress.  Our starter arrived quickly but our mains were delayed for over an hour, very strange as many other tables were being served. The taco starter was somewhat diminutive but the flavours were all fresh and brimming with flavour. The same could be said for our mains, beef, goat and lamb but a real shame about the long wait.  A good night out and I'd go again, hopefully the overall service would be better next time!

This place was on my radar for a while so while out in Soho my friend and I decided to try it and it was delicious (mind that we were starving so we might have been biased ) I love the atmosphere of the place it wasnt too busy and we got sit at the bar where we met the cool meat chef for the shift! So to the dishes we both opted for Sunday Roast: beef for me and lamb for my friend and both were delicious. I was really disappointed that they ran out of porchetta but I will come back! Also tried the cocktail sage advice and it was really good so if you like meat and cocktails this is your place!

Stumbled upon this place looking for an after work meal and pre theatre dinner. It was delicious! Sat at the bar and watched the chefs cook. The tacos were unreal as was the mezcal. What a delightful surprise!

A selection of all five meats, as well as beef fat and cheese fired potatoes (not a hit), and the fantastic jalapeño-pesto burrata.

Pricey but lots of options and the food was delicious. I would go back just for the lamb tacos and the bone marrow.

Baby back ribs: not necessarily fall of the bone type of ribs, but if you give it a good tug , some of the meats will slide off its axis. I enjoyed it for what it's worth. Obviously, the smoker is limited in scope , so I'm not expecting Texas style quality. Was a little chewy in some places, but also tender in others. Had a preference for the chiptole bbq sauce rather than the hickory. Fries were mostly good (minus the tiny bits). So close to the meats, the fries absorbed some of the smokiness flavor. Slaw: low-point of the bbq. They used way, way, too much dressing. Like it was flooded. Also the cabbage wasn't cut finely, but presented as whole chunk slices. Would definitely not recommend this one. Overall minus the slaw, I enjoyed Bodean's

Even though I was tattooed near Hackney/London Fields, the artist had lived in London before (although they were visiting from Singapore) and she was able to tell me about Smokestak because I was staying in Shoreditch. I was seated without a reservation (rare in London, so I'm told) in this beautiful dimly lit dinner atmosphere. My server was no slouch and promptly let me know I had to try the brisket and recommended the crispy ox cheek, as well. I should have drawn the line there, but I continued on and got an Alcohol-Free/Non-Alcoholic drink and a plate of greens. I was stuffed. I thought I detected an American accent (specifically Californian) from the server, but it turns out she was Canadian. Vancouver, though, so maybe there's something to the West Coast and our dialect. The beef brisket is the best in London, and their mustard barbecue sauce is unmatched. I need to find a comparable sauce in California. The crispy ox cheek and anchovy mayo rearranged some of my taste molecules. Maybe it was how it was so perfectly crisp and salted so well? I felt like I was in Flavor Town, London, for sure. I'll never forget how confusing it was to find the washroom. It felt like I was a double agent, pushing open a secret door. It was such a non-descript door. I swear it wasn't a door at all. It was just another wall panel. I had to ask a stranger where the loo was before I wandered into the kitchen.

Sides were all good - including the roasted potatoes and yorkshire pudding. The star was the meat of course, my favorite ended up being the lamb which was super tender and flavorful. Loved the crispy pork rind that comes with the pork roast slices and the gravy and sauces on the side really rounded out the meal, added a ton of flavor and made it fun to try the different sauces with the variety of meats. I wanted something with at least one good veggie option, they wanted something with meat, and it had to be somewhere in-between Camden and Canary Wharf, not too pricey, and ideally close to the city because otherwise our Italian friend probably wouldn't make it. And lo and behold.... THE FAT BEAR!!! It was all we wanted and more! This place is sort of tucked away and up some stairs above a pub. It's really just a room and a half, which makes it super cozy and they have a pretty awesome looking bar. It's got warm lighting which makes the atmosphere really nice. Their cocktails were delightful and the service was excellent. I will make a very strange observation that someone working there had a very drunk friend who just sort of made herself at home. Then more joined and it turned into me watching this table of really really drunk people trying to order food. Two of them ended up just falling asleep. It was super strange. Anyway, me being distracted aside, I really loved the cocktail I ordered- Sloe Boat To China, and everyone else seemed happy with theirs. I was dying to try the pimiento cheese starter and the fried pickles. The cheese was particularly sharp and delicious. The pickles were good, but quite skinny (I mean come on, you're in an American restaurant I was expecting some serious pickles). The vegan gumbo was super spicy and delicious. I was impressed and enjoyed it. My husband dropped the ball and ordered the regular jambalaya (with sausage) rather than the seafood one which broke my heart a little bit, because I really wanted to try it. You know, I guess that means we'll just have to come back. Oh also another bonus, this place has brisket which is really hard to find. I can't say how it tastes but my friend said he defo approves (am I becoming more British with these words, or just more annoying?) Anyway, to finish it off I had the oreo cheesecake which the bomb. I love oreos. And it tasted like oreo. So all was right with the world. A wonderful place to come if you have people who want to try American food, or if you have out of town Americans who are too scared to try other food, or if you have hungry friends that want to try cajun food, or if you just want to try some really yummy food.
