In more detail, we initially reached out for some small repairs as part of a landscaping project. However, the project grew in scope as we opened things up and discovered new issues. Each step of the way Michael and his team explained our options, pros and cons, and helped us navigate the decision that provided the best value for our needs. Pricing was fair and transparent without surprises. Throughout the project, we were impressed by the attention to detail and quality of work for The Building Company crews and the specialist sub-contractors Michael brought in. They did a great job protecting our hardwood floors, keeping the job site clean, and being respectful of our home. Specific work included: - Structural beam replacement - Rebuild porch covering and front wall - Install new exterior doors - Drywall: Patch ceiling and smooth coat walls Highly recommend!

Competitive pricing, but sloppy work…read more I gave 3 stars for the price, even considering the sloppy work. I had to get a door replaced. The Building Company offered very competitive quote/pricing compared to other contractors. When it came down to the work, it was done sloppily. I always hear the term measure twice and drill once. Well, to the installer, it is more installed 2 to 3 times and don't bother measuring. The original measurement, done during the price quote and before the door was ordered, was not absolutely correct. The installer doesn't bother to check but just install the door. After installation, the door rub against the top jamb and need to be reinstalled. After the door is reinstalled, then come the key hole on the jamb for the bolt lock. He prep the hole for metal plates and drill the holes. When he is done, the door to jamb distance is not uniform. On hinge side vs door knob side were off. Again, rework.

I contacted James Harry for some home projects based on a posting on Nextdoor and the fact that he…read morewas local to the neighborhood. We had him remodel a sunroom at our house which has a historic property designation. The sunroom and windows were more recent construction (30 years ago) when a previously exterior space was enclosed. We initiated the project to address some exterior wood rot in the windows and wanted the improvements to better complement the historic character of the house. The project entailed removing old shake shingle wall siding, installing new modular linoleum flooring, installing drywall and wood wainscotting, trim work, and painting. Notably, the project included new custom-designed windows with divided mullions to compliment the craftsman character of the rest of the house. Gustavo, an experienced contractor, oversaw details of the project. James is starting out as a contractor and has a network of family/friends that are skilled tradespeople. I was originally concerned about the newness of the company. But James claimed to have a license and insurance.  And my honest opinion is that he is working harder to please clients than perhaps more established contractors/handymen. We were very pleased with the quality of the work, James' responsiveness, and the value of the work.  Our experience in a time of high demand for home improvement contractors is that there is some serious price gouging occurring.  We felt James was very fair and reasonably priced for the work done. James and company made sure we were satisfied with the project and did not quibble about some minor adjustments we made or that we had some decision inflections (deciding on paint color, etc.) I plan to use the company for future projects such as bathroom improvements and drywall repair.  I highly recommend James Henry, particularly to my Mountain View neighbors.

The job was pretty big and more than I could handle alone. They did trample a small Lime tree but I'll still give them 5 stars, as long as they replace the tree! Rogelio gave me a fair quote, I got two other quotes that were higher. He actually underestimated the height of the fence in his bid. But he is a man of his word and did not charge extra for his mistake. That's good service and shows he is a man of his word. His crew of 5 guys came in and got to work right away. They were very careful not to trample any plants or anything else for that matter. They discovered a few problems due to some questionable jobs other homeowners did 30 or more years ago. They took it all in stride, fixed the problems and found solutions that worked well. All of the crew were very polite and hard working. It was like having a bee hive buzzing through the yard. Pretty impressive!!! One thing cracked me up. Rogelio brought a microwave in so his crew could heat up their lunch. That's pretty smart and considerate of him. I suggested he get a small refrigerated for cold drinks. It was 90 plus the day they put the fence in. So yes I would highly recommend his company for remodeling jobs. They do it all, roofing and full remodels.
