We had purchased a Leather 3 piece furniture set which included a full reclining Couch, Loveseat and Chair. Within a first month or two. All three pieces of furniture started breaking down. They had sent a specialist from their store to inspect the set and he stated that it was a Manufacturer's Defect. All three pieces have broken frames and the chair won't even recline anymore. Since they sent the specialist we keep getting the same run-around with no solution. Now we're out $1700 and they wont Refund us. Will not shop from this business chain ever again. read more

The only reason I am giving this review two stars is for my sales associate Nancy who worked above and beyond here call of duty on this order. If i were to rate the overall presentation and how i was treated by the store manager it would be a zero for what a poor representation he is to JR furniture. I would like to share with you my experience i had at your Gresham location store, My husband and I had planned to furnish our entire new home, we started planning and shopping ideas with Nancy back in November 2015. Granted we came in several times before making the purchase of our home she was very patient and helped us with all questions and gave great recommendations for us to find the right items we were in search for. With that said in Early Feb 2016 we came to make the purchase for our home. 27 items over $7500.00 She was very patient and worked hard for us to get what we wanted. The delivery experience was less than pleasurable, the warehouse left three different items that we needed for our furniture to be assembled properly out and they were not with our order. My husband and I drove back three times to get what we needed to find out that the third item could not be located, The delivery people were here for six hours! they were awesome and patient and did a great job. Several items have scratches and nicks but what i am to do? Let me tell you why I will never give JR Furniture another dollar and share with everyone i know not to purchase at this store. The store Manager Harry is the most unprofessional person I have encountered in all the purchases we just made for our brand new home. and is a poor representation of JR Furniture company. I am an Operations Manager for a high end store and I would never have him as the face of my company when it come to making important decisions. He has no character and it is very clear that is miserable at his job. He is not inviting and or welcoming to the customers. He is lacking courtesy and should absolutely greet a client when negotiating and when making a large purchase, thanking them for coming into the store. He would rather stand in the back ground with a disgruntled look on his face. When I did have an opportunity to meet him, I expressed what a phenomenal job my sales associate did and he didn't even acknowledge me and or the associate or praise her. He could have at least stated she does a great job, What a poor unmotivating manager to his sales team. After my order was placed I reached out to Nancy to inquire about more items i would be interested in to add to the order i was charged an outrageous price when there were several other stores selling the items 2 for the price of what they wanted to sell me one for. That left a bad taste to me. Then when i came to payoff the remaining balance of my order (that was paid all CASH) I noticed that the balance had gone up $300 dollars. The store manager had gone back in after the order was finalized and the price and added over $300 dollars to agreed upon price that we had settled on. I find that to be extremely shady and unprofessional. If there is a concern with pricing and or delivery fees then i should have been contacted not just have an amount tacked on to my order like it would go un noticed. NEVER again will we give another dollar to this store after seeing what a poor representative the manager is of this store and how he his attitude it is it is what is rather than what can we do create customer satisfaction. Especially after purchasing $7500 and having such a horrible experience with the delivery process to be told yet again that Harry is out for another personal reason and won't be available for days at the store. Someone else should be able to assist in customer problems since Harry is more involved in his personal life rather than a job that he is responsible for. For those of you that are shopping furniture in the area, shop your priced before deciding to purchase. Many of the prices at this store are marked up to be marked down. you will find if you go to another store there retail is the discounted price this store is trying to give. And another note for shoppers.... almost every furniture store in the area sells are can order the same brands that this store carries. Make sure you are getting your money worth and that you are receiving great service. My experience with JR furniture was a disaster from the start. They didn't have the bed I wanted in stock so they had to order it. The sales guy wouldn't give me any discount but I had already been to 3 other furniture stores unsuccessfully so I decided to get the bed anyway. He said it would be delivered that weekend. He also said I could call during the Labor Day sale and it might be on sale and they could do a price adjustment. I called during Labor Day sale and surprisingly (not) they wouldn't give me a discount. The bed showed up 2 weeks later, 3 hrs past the delivery window. The delivery guys said I didn't pay to have it assembled but yes I did. I called the store, they forgot to tell them I needed it assembled. They guys get to putting the bed together and realized they didn't have all the pieces. They drive back to JR to get the other piece. 3 hours later when they had it fully assembled they realized it was completely the wrong bed!! They sent me a twin over twin bunk when I ordered a full over full. Now I have 2 full mattresses in the living room and an unusable twin bunk bed in my room. I called the store very upset of course and they offered me another bed for the same price I paid but it won't be delivered for 2 weeks!! Ridiculous! In 2017 they should have that bed here the next day! I'm furious! Update: the bed I wanted doesn't exist. They would not make a deal with me to cover the difference of the bed I purchased vs the bed I bought. I told them to come pick up the bed today. The manager Harry hung up on me!! I called him back and said how dare you hang up on me! And asked him when the delivery people would be here. He said they would call me and hung up on me again! They will loose more then the difference of the bed vs the one that I purchased by being an asshole and not working with me. I brought that to his attention and he said he knew that and he didn't care. I will be contacting the corporate office very soon! Now I am without a bed and without a mattress for who knows how long! read more

Me and my girl just moved to Gresham a little whiles ago and on a random whim thought "let's go to JR Furniture" walked in and I was pretty amazed at how big the inside of the building was. They had a lot of great furniture, dinning sets, sofas, love seats, chairs, bed sets..etc etc. They were very welcoming and let us wander around to look on our own without following us which was great and when we needed help they were there right away. We were helped by wes, who never made us feel pressured to purchase anything and answered all our questions and even set us up with a little deal, definitely letting everyone I know that needs furniture about this place and will be stopping in when we need something else for ours. read more

Worst experience of a large purchase ever! You would think that award would go to a car dealership but not in this case. Purchased and paid in full for a living room set on February 24, 2016 and were told we could pick it up on March 3rd. Called to check on delivery and were told that the Stockton warehouse decided not to put it on the truck that week and we would have to wait. The store clerk then told us we could drive to another location and pick it up or they could have their local truck drop it off in Gresham for us today. When we called to make sure it was there we were told it couldn't be delivered because we didn't put a deposit on it. WTH? We paid for it in full! I asked to speak to a store manager and was told he was on vacation. I asked for the assistant manager and was told they don't have one and it was just employees running the store. Crazy! I will take my receipt in and get my money back and shop at a different store. I have lost all confidence in the sales staff giving me the right answer to questions about the furniture when they can't provide a manager. read more

When I first shopped at JR Furniture it appeared my needs would be met. The sales rep was patient and friendly. After taking quite some time to select my fabric for Stanton sofa (so many dark colors, nothing very light and pretty), was notified a few days later the fabric I chose wasn't available. Why is it on display? I went back to the store and chose another fabric. There wasn't enough fabric for the one I liked for decorator pillows and Stanton paid the cost for me to choose a fabric at Joann's Fabrics. Now the bigger issue: the seams on the sofa didn't line up either they were crooked. I ordered 2 recliners from Stanton too. The recliners are shorter on leg length then the demo recliner in store and my heels hang just a smidgeon over; I am 5.7". Also, there isn't enough cushion support for the lower half of legs. WOW! I was quite surprised on the lack of quality. To be honest I don't have the time or energy to have them take all the furniture back and 'fix' it. Just disgusted with the outcome and won't go to JR Furniture again. Am so disappointed, spent quite a bit of money and thought for sure the quality of Stanton would stand behind their name, but alas, no! If there are good reviews must be a relative of the company JR or Stanton, I am so dismayed. read more

I think the thing that speaks best about a business is how they handle mistakes, not so much how they sell you a product. I purchased a couch from this store and specified that I wanted it to have feather cushions. When the couch was delivered it did not have feather cushions and I found out that the couch that I had picked out didn't come in feather cushions. The salesman somehow missed this even though it was discussed at great length. I was understandably upset, after all I had spent $2,500 on this couch! Iwent to the store to speak to the manager. He was amazing and gracious. I explained to him the detailed conversations that I had had with the salesman and what had taken place and he could see this was in fact an error on the part of the staff and offered to have a new couch in a new style that did offer a feather cushions delivered to my home, and the old couch picked up at no charge to me other than the difference in cost between the two models. This was way beyond my expectations as I went in there expecting to be blown off and have to potentially have a big fight with the manager in an attempt to get this rectified or worst case ultimately live with a couch that I didn't want and had paid a lot of money for. Neither one of these things happened and I was so so grateful. I highly recommend this store. This is an experience of customer service that you just don't seem to get any more. I went here expecting to get a room set (dresser, bed, nightstand, etc.) I went in on Wednesday 11/23 and I ordered the set and they told me that I would be getting everything the next Thursday, understandable. So I went in on Thursday and none of it was ready, because the set I ordered was dirty. Then they said it would come on the following Saturday. So again I went in and I only got my dresser and nightstand because THEY misplaced all the items for my bed. Now, it is 12/9 and they told me I would get my bed (I have been sleeping on the floor so I'm livid) I STILL don't have a bed because they don't want to deliver it due to weather conditions. But maybe if they had all the stuff in the first place it wouldn't be a big deal. So after I get this bed if I ever do, I will never be buying anything from this store ever again. I would give this 0 stars if I could. We ordered an expensive bedroom set that came w/ the wrong headboard, the colors were off, and the quality was garbage (and we paid a lot for it). Nothing was damaged when we put it together but yet they still won't take the furniture back and refund us our money. We offered to bring it back and they told us 'you get what you pay for' I will be filing a complaint w/ BBB. The furniture is in the same condition as it was when we opened it and they sold us a product that was not at all what was described. Don't waste your time or money. Worst experience ever but I guess that's what buying cheap shit will do to you. Bought a sectional a few weeks ago, we picked up due to the $40 delivery fee (we are maybe 3 miles away). We made 2 trips. They sectional was all backwards and would never work in our space. Was told it would be in in a week. After a week, no call so I went into the store. Was told it would be a month wait and not a week. I am beyond frustrated with this store, manager and employees. At one point I went in to see the manager and was told she was going to use the restroom and be down. I sat in the showroom for 15 minutes before a guy came over asking if I needed help. He told me HE was the manager. WTF!!! Such idiots at this store. I want a full refund but will now have to pay a restock fee for their fuck up. I plan to go to the higher ups and demand they remove this crap from my house and give me a full refund. Such dipshits. Never ever will I go back and will warn all friends to steer clear. Me and my husband had bought a leather sectional and not even 5 months it started rubbing off the color on one of the cusion and now went onto the next one. We don't even know how this had started but it wasn't from us sitting on it because we barely sit where that happend. We contacted them several times and they gave us their contact person that fixes the couches apparently..I called this person many times and didn't get a reply back..I also called JR furniture again and they just told me to keep calling (what a bad service) so I kept calling and got a hold of him he came and checked it out and said he doesn't know how this had happened..he took pics of it and went to JR ans they need to decide apparently if they're going to give him a go to fix it or not. Long story short I feel like they are just avoiding this and don't want to even fix it. I am never going to buy from JR again !!!! read more

To anyone who is looking for furniture I am begging you heed my warning, go someplace else.  If you value your time and money, go anywhere else.  It all started on January 10 when we were looking at purchasing a new couch. We went to a couple other places and ended up at Jr. They were twenty dollars cheaper in their price for the same couch.  We should have listened to the reviews we read on yelp but we didn't.  Jack was our sales guy and through out the whole experience I felt like he didn't care at all.  We placed our order on January 10 and put half of the payment down.  Jack told us the couch would be ready for pick up in 4-6 weeks.  4-6 weeks pass and we hear nothing from Jack or JR.  I decided to give them a call to see what was happening.  I was informed that they were busy and would give me a call back.  We receive no phone call so I call back a couple of days later and then get informed that the couch was not ready and that there was a mix up and the order for my couch was not put in until week four of our waiting period.  Jack informed me that they put in a new rush order and should take a week or two.  By this time it is week 8 and we finally get a call from them telling us it is ready for us to pick up.  Well now we are on vacation and cannot come in until the middle of March.  When we go in to pay and receive our couch, we are then informed, after we pay the remaining balance, that our couch was damaged in the wearhouse a weak ago and that they need to get it fixed.  We were never informed of the couch being damaged.  The only time we received a phone call from Jack or JR was when they wanted more money out of us.  They never seemed apologetic. read more

Wish there was a -star rating. Worked with John Hunter, he will tell you anything to get a sale. Was told I could have bedroom set by Wednesday, even if they had to give me floor model. Didn't happen. Thursday was told they no longer had the mattress they had sat. Now due to me working nights, witch I explained to John on sat, I won't have a bed till Monday. I called and talked to the manger, he seemed to not care. I would not recommend this place to my enemies. Looking at other reviews they only respond to good reviews. They don't try to fix the bad ones. Don't shop here. My dads complaint to the BBB might get their attention. My husband and I are so very disappointed in the service that we received at the Lakewood location of JR Furniture. We have been to the store on three separate occasions months apart and not one of the staff said hello, how may I help you nor I will be right with you. Yet as we walked we by others they were who were looking in the store were greeted and assisted. One sales associate asked me to step aside so that he could walk over to a couple sitting on a sofa set and assist them. I dare not speculate that it had anything to do with race. Maybe they simply did not think we had money to spend. Anyhow, we ventured next door to Furniture Factory Direct and spend $5k cash out the door on a new living room and bedroom set with several people asking us if we needed assistance. Ordered over $2000 worth of furniture 03/12/16 and was told the furniture would be delivered the following weekend, or by Monday the latest. Called yesterday, Sunday and was told delivery will now be this Thursday. Normally I'd be okay w/this, however I specifically asked the sales associate Ryan if we'd have our furniture by Easter and he assured me yes, not a problem. Now we "may" have it 3 days prior to Easter. Not happy at all. We'll see if the furniture is delivered on time or not. read more

Got my furniture back from JR furniture via Stanton today and per there warranty they added stuffing replaced the failing springs but will not fix the " Bonded Leather" every time I talk to someone at JR Furniture they tell me that Stanton gives me a different reason and not just " Warranty" first they said it was because of pets. then it was the warranty now its because they claim that my furniture was unsanitary. and JR knowing I was disputing it did not even walk there selves down the sidewalk to there own warehouse to look at it to see if the claim was true or not. It is not true. I cleaned and condition my expensive furniture every month. Anyone that knows me knows this is true.I would have paid extra to get the " leather" if the sales man was honest and told me that the Bonded leather is crap. I wanted furnature I could clean it and it would last longer. as you can see by the pictures the " bonded leather" is cracking in just over a year which is what fabrics is covered for because it is a poor quality product and now that they added stuffing to the seats its is worse and that was caused by Stanton. Do not buy the Bonded Leather it is not a good product. and Stanton, Lazyboy and all the other manufactures of so called quality furniture know it and are still selling it with the claims that it is quality. I am stuck with mine but you don't have to be. Costco is a better place to buy furniture they stand behind what they sell even if the manufacture does not. I would have been better off getting a fabric at least it would have lasted over 2 years even if I had to get it cleaned. read more

I selected 1 star only because I had to. A one star rating is too high for this store. My disaster started in February 2015, when I purchase a "Highest Quality Leather" Stanton Power Reclining Sofa, matching Power Reclining Love Seat and matching Rocker Recliner, along with coffee table, power end tables and area rug ($7,000.00+). I also purchased a GBS Warranty ($450.00) for the "Highest Quality Leather" living room set. This was all delivered in mid-March 2015. The end of July 2015, the leather on the sofa was showing a lot of wear, white spots were appearing. I took pictures, and immediately went back to JR Furniture and asked them what they were going to do. They assured me that they would take care of the problem. After weekly phone calls, they finally sent someone in mid-November to look at the problem and "fix" it. A man came to my house with a stain pen and was going to "color" the spots. I told him I would not accept that as fix to the problem and called JR back to get some kind of resolution to the problem. Finally in late January 2016 they came and picked up the couch to have it repaired, telling me at the time it would be 2 weeks and I would have my sofa returned. After 2 weeks passed I started calling them again. I was told that they didn't know where my sofa was, they couldn't find it. Finally in mid-March they told me they were just going to replace the sofa. I agreed and towards the end of March they delivered a sofa, but when they unwrapped it, I noticed white spots in the leather where it appeared to be defective. I told the delivery guys I would not accept it. They contacted the store and were told to bring it back and that there was one sofa left at the store and I could come check that one out. When I went to check it out, again problems were noted with that sofa. I told them that I just wanted my money back. I was told that I should have bought the warranty. I had bought it, I had paper work showing that I had paid for the warranty but had never received the written warranty. The owner would not give me my money back but would exchange the sofa for other items. I really didn't need anything, but choose some items. This was done on April 3, 2016. I was told these would be delivered in 2 to 4 weeks. When I called 5 weeks later to see when the delivery would be made, I was told it would be that Thursday. On Wednesday when I hadn't received a delivery time, I called and was told they (JR Furniture) didn't have anything in their records showing I was due a delivery. I went directly to the store to find out what was going on. The man I spoke to said they had no record of me purchasing any furniture other than a dining room set. The young man (Damon) who delivered my furniture came out of the back and informed the other man that I had purchased the furniture and that I did have a claim. Damon tried to help, but the owner or owner's son, Paul Rai, would not come out and talk. I went home and the next day I went out with my original copies of the paperwork proving I had purchased the furniture. My brother went back with me. Damon came back out to help. Paul Rai only came out to talk (?) with me after my brother threatened to get a lawyer. Paul Rai came out and said they had no paper work showing I had bought it there, I told him I had the paper work and he wanted me to give it to him. He started yelling at me and I yelled back. He slammed his hands down on the table and continued to yell at me because I wouldn't give it to him. Told him that I would make copies but he wasn't getting my originals. Damon made the copies. Paul Rai said that they would check to see if the items were there. They could not find them at first. They finally located 3 of the 5 replacement items. I informed Paul Rai that I also had never received the paper work on the warranty I paid $450 for and that I wanted those papers also. He agreed and called his employees stupid and thieves stating that someone pocketed the warranty money. (Not sure how that could happen since it was all written down on the original paper work and I paid by debit card). The items they had were delivered that afternoon and I was told the other 2 items would be ordered that week and delivered in 1-2 weeks. After 2 weeks these items were not delivered so my brother contacted them and again he was told that they didn't have any paper work showing the original purchase or the replacement agreement. Again provided them with copies and was told that it would be approximately 2 weeks for delivery. My brother went back out about 3 weeks later, again was told they didn't have paper work, so again went back out with copies and gave it to them. I finally received the remaining 2 items and warranty paper work on August 4, 2016. Over 1 year since the problem was brought to their attention. BEWARE - IF YOU BUY ANYTHING THERE KEEP YOUR PAPER WORK!! Others have had problems also read more
