While other catering companies responded within 1-2 business days, it took Spilled Milk nearly a week to get back to me. Once they did, they asked me to complete a questionnaire, which I did promptly. Sadly, I heard nothing for almost another week. After following up myself, they finally responded and informed me that they could not provide a quote unless I had already secured a venue. During that same week, we had spoken with 8 other catering companies who had no problem providing thoughtful proposals without needing our venue locked in. Spilled Milk's justification? "We are not a copy and paste catering company." The response came off more condescending than professional. If this is the level of communication and inflexibility they show before being hired, I can only imagine what it would be like working with them through the planning process. This whole interaction made my fiancé and I feel like our business was not worth their time. We regret wasting our energy on a company that clearly had a "we are too good for you" mentality from the start.

They were super accommodating and attentive to any concerns I had as a bride. Our account manager Marcie was wonderful, taking detailed notes on everything (we communicated with her up until 2 weeks out from the date) and responding to my million and one questions, with a quick response time via email or call. Since we did a grand arrival by private charter, they even let us do a dry run ahead to practice docking and were super patient in waiting for us. 2 weeks out we were assigned our catering manager for the day of- Veronica is the best!! Responsive to texts and emails at any time of day (and unlike most venues where the catering manager is only concerned with ensuring the venue fulfills their contractual obligations), she and her staff showed up, worked with our day of coordinator, and played a huge role in ensuring the day went as flawlessly as it did! The day of, Veronica arrived at the venue early in case any of the production crew arrived early. She checked on us throughout the night, and you could tell she genuinely was excited for us and loves what she does! They truly went above and beyond. Couldn't have asked for a better team. Brides if you're heavily involved in planning the details of your wedding and looking for a hassle free experience, highly recommend booking one of CBU's venues. I absolutely regret booking with Simply Fresh and cannot recommend them. If you do book with them or have already, please ensure your planner is keeping close tabs. Here is a rundown of what went wrong: The plates of beef tenderloin served to me and my husband were overcooked and tough, I literally spit mine out. Multiple family members received similar plates or complained that the option was extremely rare in the middle or overcooked and chewy. Every table including the head table was served burnt rolls to the point that most were hard as rocks, couldn't be eaten and were completely charred black. Family members asked for new rolls only to be told there weren't any left. They shouldnt have been placed on the tables at all. The bar also served multiple guests wine with ice in it. Both white and red wine. I am embarrassed by this and I have no idea how this could be justified by any professional bar service. Red wine with ice (and it wasn't sangria)?!? This lowered the quality of my wedding and I am mortified. This was advertised as a dinner with stations, not a buffet. The timeline for meal service took so long I had to flag our planner to ask her to see if she could speed things up. Our last table ate 45 minutes after the head table. While service may have been on time based on Simply Fresh's timeline, for a wedding with 60 guests, it's unacceptable that people were hungry and waiting for food. Their experience was not great and again I'm so embarrassed. Another quality of service issue: Vendor meals were served to staff before members of my family were served. To be very clear I have no issue with staff taking a break to eat dinner or being provided dinner. I have zero issue with staff being seen eating. But it's unacceptable that members of my family who were hungry saw staff being served and eating before they were. Again I am so embarrassed. Our late night snack of hotdogs and French fries was served cold without any condiments. No mustard, no ketchup. Tables also didn't have salt and pepper shakers, or at least family members couldn't find them. Again, all of this seriously lowered the quality of my wedding and I am trying not to freak out, but I am so upset and disappointed.
