She responded to my questions quickly and was always willing to adjust our invoices or provide recommendations. They are also the most affordable company I've found in the DC area. On site, the catering team went above and beyond to ensure our events went seamlessly. I have never had guests compliment the staff and the menu as much as they did with St. Germain! As the event coordinator, I appreciated that Ceecho, Donal, and Johnny checked in with me throughout the event, quickly adjusted to the schedule changes, and were efficient and helpful throughout the set up and tear down process. I highly recommend Saint Germain for our next catered function in DC! We will be a repeat customer for sure!

Their menu is expansive and can accommodate all types of dietary restrictions--we had dairy free, vegan, pollotarian, and gluten free folks, and they all enjoyed the food. Set up and tear down were efficient, and the staff was so friendly, polite, and professional! And the food! I over ordered, so the whole library staff got to eat, too. Everyone raved about the buffets (we did a "cookout" style, a "fajita bar" style, and we had breakfast for three days). Everything was cooked well and seasoned well! The fresh fruit was delicious! Can I recommend them any more than I have? If I'm ever in the DC/DMV area again for an event, I will definitely give them a call.

The pricing was very reasonable, and he even offered a wonderful tasting prior to signing the contract, which gave us great confidence in our decision. Dinner was for 25 + people and there was barely enough food for 12. Not that this mattered, as EVERYTHING was inedible and there were no plates, cutlery or napkins provided. I take that back, the store brought $2.00 (price still on) cornbread and $16.00 cake were the ONLY items edible. The Mac and Cheese was dry and bland. I will give them credit for it being both overcooked and undercooked all in the same batch. I'm still trying to make sense of that! The only adjective that even remotely describes this Mac and Cheese is "disrespectful". Like, seriously, the disrespect was 10/10. The chicken was undercooked and bland. How do you make jerk chicken bland and soggy? I'm actually curious. The "blackened" salmon was overcooked yet not blackened, creating another "make it make sense" moment. I immediately spat out the greens. They were undercooked, not under-seasoned but literally "not seasoned". Wait, I take that back too, if you count the dirt and grit as seasoning. They should be ashamed of themselves for ripping people off. Pictures don't lie. The fact that they were sent pictures and still stood behind their product tells you all you need to know. Please, please, PLEASE do not let these people ruin your event and more importantly your special moments and memories. There are so many other respectable and legitimate Black-owned catering companies i.e. Ohhs and Ahhs, Henry's, Hitching Post.

Smoke Datt is back in the building. 1 Star = It's Not Good 2 Stars = Something's Missing 3 Stars = It's Ok 4 Stars = It's Good 5 Stars = it's Bangin! There's one permanent BBQ place and 2 pop-up caterers on rotation/schedule. I'm feeling sluggish, BBQ is the last thing I want. But then the memories of my first Smoke Datt rib returns. It looked dry, but on that day I wanted BBQ, so dry or not I'm Fat Guy from the Spy Who Shagged Me. It was like yesterday when i went in for that bite but OH! Meat falling, tongue rejoicing. Teeth! Be gentle. This bone may look like bark (I'm exaggerating the appearance) but there was no bite. A picture of Smoke Datt may show up in your App Store while looking for something else because it's Tender. It was good, somebody SMOKED DATT with prejudice towards swine. What that pig do to you?!? Fast forward, I don't want bbq because I'm already tired. Ok I give in. 3 bones, My Momma's baked Mac & Cheese (yeah, I know where that recipe came from j/k), Cole Slaw, (I usually get the baked beans) and a Diet Coke. Why diet? I like Diet. Was I tired afterwards? YES! Any regrets? Nope! Would I do it again? See you all next week because Smoke Datt was BANGIN on my taste buds singing baby come back and the meal wasn't even over. I am critic. Oh, 1 more thing. Eat a bone without sauce. True BBQ. Sorry No pictures, next time I'll take pictures before devouring, and update this post with the pics. ------ I went back. And today, It was hot outside and tropical smoothie was in my mind. What?!? Smoke Datt is back. Ok, let me just get the ribs a la cart to post the pics I promised. I just want the ribs. She smiles and goes in her tiny voice "you don't want any macaroni and cheese?" I go "Nawww," she ask "you sure?".... Give it to me! . You KNOW I want some of THAT........BAKED MAC & CHEESE. "You can get another side".....well it is just $1 more. Ok ok, I haven't tried the green beans. Corn bread please. Paid in disgrace . Ok, I was super busy so I didn't get to my food for 3 hours. Warmed it up and was going to go down stairs to a table. Food smells great. Let me just....before I get to the stairs.....taste this. Oh.....OH. This window seal is just fine . Who needs a chair? Ribs- I don't know what I was on when last time I said that the ribs looked dry. Look at the PICS......Juicy! Why is it so Smokey good. Like seriously, this is what Dave, Mission, Myron Mixon's Pitmaster, and yo Daddy call The End of their manhood. Just close your stores. The second someone backs DATT with some funds. It's OVER. Let the right person get a hold of one of these ribs and watch the meat fall off before he raises it to his mouth. The Mac - Music was playin "Retuuurn of, the Mac!" My life of Mac and Cheese flashed before my eyes. Big bad Wolf BBQ, Rocklands, Famous Dave's, Mission, Chuck Fil A, Myron Mixon's Pitmaster, Sweet fire Donna's (with her burnt ends) my mom's, and my grandma's (I swear my thumbs tripped and this is a typo if someone tells her) for the record, if I ever gave any of those places a 5, I'm sorry, I take it back. There Good - 4 stars at best. The Green Beens - I only got the green bean's because I had a taste for corn bread. I have nothing to say. Just one question. Why are these green beans so GOOD!?! What did you what did you what did you PUT in here? Nooo, green beans don't taste like this. Seasoned perfectly. Not salty, SEASONED. Corn Bread - Mannn, the consistency wasn't like cornbread: it was like corn cake lol. But taste like cornbread, but better. It's like the change in texture just did something for my life. I may have just been extra.....but YOU weren't on that window ledge in the hallway, happy as can be while Colonels, Generals and Secretary's of Defense are walking by, and I'm just nam nam nam trying to hide my face. DATT is Bangin! I am critic

The food is farm to table and always arrive in neatly packaged containers every Sunday evening so we have dinners stocked to enjoy the following week. I have had meal services with others before and this is by far the most skilled cooking of farm to table meals. I think it's a good value. One recent review I read was really not fair about "scam". That's just not true but I understand the frustration that led to a misunderstanding. I know the owner/chef was busy and working to try improve their marketing, ordering app, and communications. It's a small business so you just have to contact her directly if there is an issue and she will take care of it. I made a mistake of signing up for 4 weeks of meal delivery, and now I am out of hundreds of dollars. The first delivery was 2 days late and required multiple attempts to contact the merchant to get the ordered meals. Week 2 meals were delivered but be aware, if you happen to be in the shower when they show up with your delivery, they won't leave your meals on your secure porch and will just drive away with your order. Week 3- NO DELIVERY, NO CALL, NO EMAIL. Again, I had too contact the merchant to try to figure out where was my food. Days later got a response that they had an issue with their refrigerator and simply neglected to let me know!!! With over a thousand dollars already tied up with this merchant, I had to scramble to purchase food for my family elsewhere. Due to the "NO CALL NO SHOW" for the week 3 delivery, I politely asked the chef to immediately refund me for the remaining 2 weeks worth of food that wasn't delivered. I explained that because they failed to honor their contract, I had to make other arrangements for the meals. The merchant NEVER REFUNDED me for the remaining 2 WEEKS worth of food that they NEVER DELIVEREDA. I ended up having to contact my credit card company, and guess what? The merchant is lying to my credit card company, claiming they delivered all 4 weeks worth of meals! I am reaching out to the Office of the Attorney General and filing a fraud complaint next. Stay as far away from this thief as you can!

The harissa carrots were really good, and their Napa cabbage slaw made me think of Korean water kimchi, because it was so refreshing. They also had lemon toasted potatoes and Mac and cheese. The meal came with huge pieces of bread, bbq sauce, pickles, and tzatziki sauce. Took my brutha here to celebrate his birthday and it's basically an upscale carryout. A couple sets of (8) chairs outside and a few benches inside - all occupied. Plus, it's too chilly to be eating outside...so we took the food to his place up the street. No worries - food will be good, right?? First the good: That hearty smokiness of summertime barbecue wafted from the front door as I walked up, had me totally turned on. Service was excellent from the guy waiting on us. Now, the rest.... + The (full slab) beef ribs were dry, oversalted and tough. + The pound of lamb shank I ordered didn't taste like lamb. I actually thought they had forgotten to give me my order. Their smoking process shouldn't overwhelm the natural earthiness I was expecting - from lamb. + The fried chicken was moist and juicy with a nice crunch. Decently seasoned too. + The garlic potatoes tasted old. + Assorted sauces we good...enough. + Rolls are tasteless. I could've taken my brother to a thousand other places and spent far less than $89, and we were both disappointed with this one. The bag was heavy too so we were falsely encouraged initially. There's parking right next door but we parked in the gas station across the street and walked over. I won't be returning.
