JP Food Mart is a new Japanese convenience store serving sushi, snacks, sandwiches, desserts and drinks. Located near Yonge and Gerrard, this space is I believe Chinese owned, but they have a big sushi menu that you can order from (at the counter or via the kiosk). They also have many grab and go options, perfect if you'd like to get something quickly for a meal or snack. There are some seats available at the back of the store if you'd like to have your items there. The store is also fully accessible (they have an automatic door). I stopped by JP Food Mart on a Thursday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised by all the grab and go food items available. I opted to grab a salmon crispy roll for a snack. I also noticed that there were egg sandwiches, lots of Japanese drinks, some pre-packaged desserts (like mochi and tiramisu), as well as pre-packaged onigiri, sushi rolls, and sashimi. Near the cashier there are also steamed buns as well as dim sum items like siu mai as well. The space also has a back wall full of Japanese snacks. At the very back there is a sushi bar. Having my food there, the staff were extremely friendly! I was even able to sample a piece of tuna oishi sushi, made on the spot. Staff also checked in with me while I was eating my roll to make sure I was doing okay. Food wise, the sushi roll tasted great where the quality of the fish was fresh. I also liked how they used a good type of ginger as well. It was a good snack to have. The tuna oishi sample that I also received tasted great. It was packed with rice and the mayo on top of the tuna was delicious. Overall, a great new Japanese store with a lot of grab and go items! Great selection where you can also order sushi made to order as well. Definitely will be returning in the future to grab more sushi rolls!

They're very affordable, authentic, good portion sizes and great for a quick, satisfying lunch or dinner. The bibimbap bowl is loaded with warm rice, marinated meat of your choice and freshly seasoned vegetables. Beef bulgogi is my fave, it's so good with the gochujang sauce. Their takoyaki is probably the best I've ever had, even better than takoyaki6ix. And don't forget to try their Korean Fried Chicken, it's ultra crispy and a perfect combination of savoury, sweet and umami flavours. So if you want a one-stop shop for your Asian groceries and at the same time looking for prepared and made to order food, this is the place to be.

We have purchased groceries and prepared foods many times over the years. This review is about the prepared food we ordered on 2025-10-31. We ordered a 4A Half & Half (large $25.98). It consists of original and Korean seasoned chicken, and a pop. Both versions of the chicken were tender inside and the coatings outside tasted good. The customer service was good. There is no free WiFi. The store is wheelchair accessible. There are no customer washrooms. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2025-227

They also make rice noodles and soy milk fresh. I saw in a previous review that there's a chance they don't give the sweetened soy milk but there's labels and you can check it yourself... They have it in the fridge separated by sweetened and unsweetened and it's all freshly made. I usually get their flat rice noodles a little over $2 a pound, bring it home, and stir fry it myself. Sometimes it's still hot in the bag so I bring an envirobag to make sure the heat isn't too much. Also, make sure you don't go too early because they don't usually make it until noon so if you go earlier than that, they won't have any in stock. The staff is generally friendly and are helpful if you don't know exactly what you're looking for. They'll tell you what is freshly made and what is in stock. Overall, they're a great supplier of soy milk and rice.

I am look forward to picking up some fresh tofu and soy based products in the future! On a recent visit, there also seems to be Buddhist style vegetarian platters refrigerated as well! This is such a exciting discovery, as it adds to new vegan options in this already vegan friendly neighbourhood! The vegan God must be blessing this area and sprinkling it with extra star dust!

The Ukrainian sausage lady kept pushing the potato latkes on sarah l. and me but we refused. I opted instead for a container of beet salad and some garlicky half-sour pickles that I fished out of the brine. You'll also see other Ukrainian specialties like cabbage rolls, head cheese, breads, and desserts. Most of the stuff is sold by weight so if you're clueless about weight estimation like I am, you could easily spend $14 without really meaning to. But I just had more of the kobassa (with Kozlik's triple crunch mustard!) and the pickles for lunch. Mmm...It was money well spent.
