Loved this place!!!!…read more I was here in my quest for best perogies after hearing about this store from my trusted Polish acquaintance. I happened to have a family member who flew from Pearson Airport. So... we finally had a chance to be close to this place! (I live in Whitby) I got different kind of perogies from their cooked food deli section. Mushroom & Sauerkraut, Potato & Cheddar, and Potato & Cottage Cheese. I liked them all, and especially liked Cottage Cheese one. We also got fried blintz (seasoned pork inside) - LOVED THIS. Next, my primary mission of today - Getting a lot of good frozen perogies so I can enjoy them at home. There are so many different brands/producers to choose from, and I wanted "mushroom and sauerkraut" only today. I chose the following brands/producers: - Stephanies (looked handmade) - Starsky (as I liked it in their deli cooked-food section :) I cooked them at home (see pictures). I liked Stephanies'. Good sour punch from generous stuffing, and it had this bold, natural and great strong wheat texture. And Wieners. We tried the following wieners. - Vienna - German - European - Pork I liked German. The case was thin and crispy, and interior had somewhat creamy flavor and texture. My partner liked Pork - it also had a good crispiness on the outside, and super juiciness inside. Good Oktoberfest sausage is hard to find, and they have it. It is meaty and juicy. Did not have the smoothness that I hoped for, but still, it was good and I liked it. I was also impressed by the selection of Haribo candies!!!! (look at the pictures) Heaven for candy lovers. Will come here even when we don't need to head to the Pearson Airport.

I asked to speak to the manager at the register, and the cashier pointed me to someone. I went up to ask her are you the manager and she replied I can be? When I explained about the promotion, and they should have a sign stating that both salads should have a sticker. She said oh yeah OK. However, did not offer the promotion. ??? Although this supermarket has a good selection of products, it's not worth the aggravation of staff not really wanting to serve you. The attitude has happened too many times not worth shopping here.

We have been regular customers of this store for more than seven years. Overall, we are very…read moresatisfied with the store -- the products are fresh, the selection is good, and there is plenty of variety. However, there is one issue that I believe management should pay serious attention to. Unfortunately, some cashiers can be not just unfriendly, but at times openly rude, hostile, and aggressive when dealing with customers at checkout. Basic courtesy is sometimes noticeably lacking. There have also been issues with the way questions or concerns regarding payments, discount cards, and payment cards are handled. Customers should be able to ask questions about a transaction without being met with irritation or an aggressive attitude. I want to emphasize that this does not apply to all cashiers. Many employees are perfectly pleasant and professional. However, there are certain cashiers whose rude and aggressive behaviour appears to be consistent rather than an isolated incident. As long-term customers, we enjoy shopping here and would like to continue doing so. I hope management will take this feedback seriously and ensure that all customers are treated with basic courtesy, patience, and respect.

They have a wide range of prepared foods (fresh and frozen), baked goods, imported items (jams, sauces etc) and fresh vegetables/ fruits. We loved the sausage rolls and the hot cross buns offered over Easter. We also tried their Steak and Guinness pies (frozen) although I did think it was odd they only had the crust on the top. They were very tasty though. We will be going back again and again. Do support local businesses when you can, especially when they are as good as this one.

Not only do they bake a good variety of breads every morning, they also have a great selection of cold meats, cheese and lots of other Eastern European grocery goodies stoked up. My go to is always the locally made seed bread, which is delicious! Hint: it's always baked on Wednesdays, and they may sell out fast ;) I am looking forward to trying their sourdough, which I found out about last week. Fresh every morning at 9 am.

Not just a deli but more like a mini-supermarket of sorts. I came in just before Christmas one day…read moreas I was in the area and really did not like the thought of having to deal with the local grocery store, so I decided to come in and pray that they carried the few items I really needed before the holidays. It's quite a large store and carries a huge selection of goods from all over Europe, so it's cool to be able to find things you won't find elsewhere. On this particular trip, however, I was praying to find very humble items like ... a loaf of bread and a cucumber! I asked the staff at the front whether they carried produce and she said yes, a small selection of items at the back of the store. There is a stand with baskets of different fruits and vegetables, complete with quaint, handwritten signs for prices. I hoped and prayed I'd find what I needed .. it took me 2 rounds to find them but I did. Thank GOD. The quality of the produce seemed to vary quite a bit depending on the item, from nice, large, ripe and colourful citrus fruits, to anemic looking vegetables like the cucumber I needed. I didn't care, they were a decent size and firmness and it'd do. When I moved around the corner to the fish, meats, etc. counters, I found various types of breads lined up and managed to find their version of a "french loaf." Again, not what I'd expect and want to find on an average shopping run, but it'd do. Given that I wasn't really in to experience what the store is meant to offer, it might rate better for what they intend to be the primary experience. On the other hand, bread and produce is pretty basic and while I was satisfied, it was barely so. Would definitely come back in next time I'm around to get the extended experience and sample the goodies at large.

The woman behind the meat counter was wearing a mask, but it was useless, as her nose wasn't covered. I turned to my right, and a barefaced man one metre from me was looking at meats. I mentioned the face mask bylaw to him. He ignored me, as did staff. At checkout, the woman on cash wore a mask, but her nose was fully exposed. I asked her to tell the manager that I won't be shopping there any more and the reason for my decision. I didn't feel safe. We're in a pandemic. And no one seemed to care.

I visited this place on Saturday, and it was my first time purchasing an item there. I looked…read morearound the store for some junk food first before moving into their deli section. For some of the chocolates, crakers, etc. that I looked at it was difficult to discern what it was or tasted like. Many of the junk foods had pictures, but as they deal largely with imported European foods, the packages don't always have English on them - they often do, but not always. I settled on some crackers that said graham on them, but afterwards when I opened them up they didn't look or taste anything like our traditional western graham crackers. They didn't taste bad, but I include this point to signify the usefulness of English on the packages. I also purchased 200g of cheese. I couldn't read the languague on any of the cheeses so I asked a lady to pair a good cheese with my crackers... yes, I asked for a good cheese pairing with my graham crackers. I got some sheepish looks but given my question I think it was fair. I got 200g of a mild cheese and it tasted pretty good. I didn't recognize any cuts of meats that were chicken or turkey and so I didn't explore any of those offerings. It seemed like this was the busiest part of the store. If you don't speak the language many of the ladies use (I didn't recognize it) they do speak English and are helpful. I left with my cheese, graham crackers, some Sesame Snaps candy and the cost was a little over $8. Not bad considering 2 of the 3 items bought were imported.
