I was lucky to have stumbled across JP Custom Seat's Instagram page before I pulled the trigger. Gave them a call, told them what I wanted and they quoted me a price for a custom seat that beat the other company's stock seats. I showed up, they made the seat while I waited and had me sit on it to size it perfectly. They went over the different cover fabrics and designs with me and let me choose exactly what I wanted. I bought more motorcycle than I could chew unfortunately. It is Honda F6B which in order to ride I am standing on my tippy toes. I love the bike so I wanted to find a way to make it work with my short legs. I tried getting platform shoes and that helped some. But I still needed another inch or two. I had mentioned to a friend of mine about needing a couple of more inches. My friend suggested getting the seat shaved down would help me reach a little closer. He suggested I go see JP at JP Custom Seats. I took a chance on a Saturday morning of just riding over to see what they could do for me. Today I met JP and his brother Steve. Instead of trying to sell me an expensive recovering of my entire seat, the showed me how they could carefully remove the cover of the seat and shave it down for me. Then they could carefully refit the cover over the new seat. The price was a 25% of what someone else had quoted me earlier. I was so excited when they told me that they could take care of it while I waited. How incredible is that?!?! I wasn't going to have to be without my bike all weekend. So Steve started the work of taking the seat off and brought it upstairs where they have their workshop. The workshop is this small room but in it was everything they needed to do the job correctly. JP took his time taking off the cover of the seat and began shaping away the foam to give me a lowered seat. JP showed a lot of patience. We went up and down the stairs a couple of times so I could try out the seat so it could be exactly where I wanted it to be. Just as carefully as he took apart the seat JP began to put it back together. I watched as he was so diligent in making sure it was put back together exactly as it before. He was able to use the same seat covering so nothing was taken away from the look and design of my bike. But I also noticed that in his shop he had some of the most amazing piece of leather and materials to do an awesome job creating any kind of seat you could want. Alligator skin, all different colors of leather, suede anything you could want. Before long I was ready to go! Note that these guys do not take checks or credit so bring cash. They did a great job and I would highly recommend them. Also note that they specialize in doing custom seats for both Harley Davidson Motorcycles and any Metric Bike coverings. I was so impressed by their service that I wanted to write a Yelp review for any of you looking to do something with the motorcycle seat. read more

I accidentally stumbled upon JP Custom Seats but I'm glad that I did! He took my stock seat and modified it exactly as I reimagined it. JP took my seat and tapered the edges, added a memory foam topper, and reskinned it to pop. It's now snazzier, comfortable and more suited to my riding style. If you ride a Harley, you understand why ? I highly recommend JP. They made a custom seat for my 2016 Street Bob and I couldn't be happier. Don't waste you time shopping around for a better deal. Don't wast your money buying aftermarket or a dealer seat that may still be right for you. These guys can do anything, for any size person even if you have a medical condition that effects you on long rides. Lastly it all starts with a phone call from (I think his name was STEVE); He is quite the talker and Storie teller. He asks you a ton of leading questions in order to help you choose the correct fill and size of the seat. I know this sounds like it would never work but it totally does. Next you take your old seat to the shop where you will discuss the exterior design and look of your new seat. They can do anything you can think of. Colors, logos, flames. I'm telling you, anything. I will never go anywhere else and never recommend anywhere else. One more thing, price! Even budget aftermarket places can't touch the the price. I'm not talking a few $$; I'm talking easily over $100. Once done if after riding you find something isn't feeling right they will rework until it's perfect.
