Cedar tubs require very careful chemical handling, and I made that clear when hiring them. I was assured they had experience servicing cedar tubs. When I raised concerns about the condition of the wood, I did not receive an apology, and the issue occurred again on a subsequent visit. They also installed replacement spa-cover straps without prior notice to me. While I understand safety requirements, I believe work like this should be communicated with the owner beforehand. I have included photos so others can make their own assessment. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company for servicing a cedar hot tub.

The pool had gotten a little bad and he told me he'd need to shock it, come back in a few hours to check on progress, and then finish the cleaning. He showed up and was friendly, got right to work, shocked it, and did a "clarify" right away. Later backwashed and rinsed the sand filter. He came back later that day, cleared it out & vacuumed. He was very communicative throughout the entire process and all for a very competitive price. I'm really glad I found Breakpoint because I've had a painful time corresponding with the other 2 'big groups' in the area. Breakpoint did it faster, better, and cheaper than the competition. (If there was a zero rating, I would have used that rating, but not given that option.) After hiring Anthony in November 2024, in early April 2025 I needed Anthony to address algae growth in my pool and spa, the situation never improved...even after more than a month of his weekly visits and excuses of why it wasn't clearing up. The algae bloom remained visibly present, and despite my personal investment in brand new pool filters to assist with cleanup, Anthony failed to resolve the issue in a professional and timely manner. Here's what I experienced: I hired Anthony Bono of J&B Pool Services LLC to maintain my pool and spa in November 2024. While I was out of town from April 12 to May 6, 2025. Before I left, I clearly instructed him to monitor the water levels to prevent damage to the pump and to fully eliminate the algae that had begun forming in the pool. Anthony assured me that everything would be taken care of and that I'd return to a clean, algae-free pool. Instead, I came home on May 6 to find my pool in a shocking state of neglect. The spa water level was dangerously low, the walls and floor of the pool and spa were still coated in algae, and both were filled with dirt, leaves, and debris--clearly not cleaned in days. I had even received a text from Anthony on April 23 acknowledging that the water level was "under the skimmer box" and that he added some water. I replied the same day, reiterating the importance of keeping the water high enough to protect the equipment. I reminded him again on April 24 that I'd be gone until early May. Despite all that, my neighbor--who kept an eye on the property--confirmed that Anthony never showed up on his regular cleaning day of April 30. That means my pool likely went untended for at least 12 days, if not more, while I was gone--causing continued algae growth and a build-up of filth. When I confronted Anthony about it, he made excuses and tried to downplay the issue. Then, unbelievably, he billed me $300 for the month of May and even threatened to place a lien on my property to pressure me into paying it--an illegal and baseless threat, confirmed as such by Cathedral City officials. Once-a-week visits, instead of the daily or multi-visit care that any certified professional knows is required to aggressively treat active algae in a warm desert climate like Cathedral City. Anthony himself admitted the chlorine levels remained low during his final visit on May 28, 2025, which is a clear sign of poor maintenance and chemical mismanagement. I repeatedly raised concerns about the lingering algae on the spa and south pool walls, and despite that, his cleaning efforts were minimal at best. I also found out from a new pool company that came out to look at the poor state Anthony left my pool and spa in, that they found the pool pump settings were improperly set in the wrong positions, resulting in no water jets circulating water into the pool, which in turn was causing the water to stagnate and exacerbated the feeding of the algae bloom. Anthony refused to increase service frequency to twice a week, citing he was short staffed...unless I paid him extra, even though I was already paying $200/month premium for below-standard, once a week service. The normal average rate is cleaning twice a week for $200.00. Moreover, I find it unacceptable that rather than taking accountability for the ongoing issue, Anthony suggested that the algae is somehow currently my fault and expressed disinterest in continuing to service my property, due to the distance from his usual service area. He even blamed me for not keeping the water levels at the proper levels...a job that is his responsibility and what I was paying him to maintain! He also was apparently doing a very poor, if non existent brushing, of the pool and spa walls and floor. For when I had a new pool company come out to examine my pool & spa on May 29, 2025, they brushed off a dark layer of dirt, grime and chemicals left by Anthony one day after he supposedly "cleaned" my pool and spa on May 28, 2025. I gave Anthony more than enough time to clear up the persistent algae growth on the pool and spa walls with still no satisfactory results. Once he received my termination notice on May 29, 2025, rather than taking accountability for his poor service, Anthony chose to intimidate me with an outrageous and baseless legal threat. This is unacceptable behavior from any business owner. I've since hired a professional and responsive pool company that resolved the algae issues promptly -- something that should have been done weeks earlier by J&B Pool Services. Do yourself a favor, stay far away from J&B Pool Services LLC. There are better, more honest, and more reliable pool service providers out there.

The best of the best. The pool process started in November with bids on a demo and to build a new…read morepool. You see wonderful billboards and advertisement of companies claiming to the best. I assure you they are not. From Tessera (pretty billboards and that is it!), Azure, Rembrandt, Premier, and others, it varied from constant follow-ups, overpriced (some by $20,000), wrong designs from what we planned, and poor communications. At the point of giving up, we saw Desert Luxury Pools truck driving on the road in April, and decided one more chance to see who can get it right. Dan came over and listened to the design we wanted, and gave some recommendations to make it even better. His attitude was, "100% yes can", and we will work with the HOA and Riverside County with no problems. I thought he was pulling my leg because everyone else seemed to have some issues with the HOA or County, some stating it could take months to get approved. Within a week, Dan's design was ready, and said if all is good, lets move forward with demo. Pete and Dan both design and build the pools, and we asked if they will be able to build this within 3 months because everyone was saying HOAs and the county take so long. They know the guidelines in advance and stay within what is expected and it should go through smoothly. I thought they were kidding. As soon as we signed, everything went so smoothly, it was unbelievable. Within 2 weeks working with the HOA , it was approved; the county had a couple of questions, and withing 2 weeks they were ready to go. Whenever we had a question, they would respond within minutes NOT DAYS OR WEEKS. We never, ever had to follow-up with questions because they would always answer right away. Here we are 3 months later swimming in our beautiful pool. A few special mentions to their amazing staff; Rome is a work horse and a pleasant guy who gets in and gets it done. He never once complained about doing the work, and was very respectful of your property. Jared is another guy who got the plumbing and electric up and working, while giving recommendations on placement that worked awesome for us. Sandy in the office worked behind the scenes making the magic with the orders and paperwork for county and HOA. Pete the owner is very involved and always coming on site checking the work and communicating with us. The contracted team they had doing the work were amazing, and sorry we don't recall all their names, but they all worked hard and quick. You can take my advice, and just skip to the front of the line with Desert Luxury Pools, or go through many calls, no replies, over-priced estimates, poor customer service, wrong designs, and attitude trying to find another pool construction company, and be disappointed. Their price was better than the others and never, ever gave an issue with the design. They are the type of company and people that if you dream it, they will make it possible without nickel and diming you to death. Their communications are spot on by always letting you know what is going on that week, and respond to any questions or concerns. This is not my first rodeo in having work done on a house and when you find a company that is awesome, you recommend them. I highly recommend Desert Luxury Pools.

There are a lot of sketchy businesses out there. However I have to say Eric put me at ease. I had a lot going on at the time he arrived and didn't know what to expect. Were they going to do the job correctly? What was the process? Was I going to get overcharged? I have has so many bad experiences this month and really did not want another. I have to say... they came... worked hard... and Eric addresses all my concerns and will most likely be back.... again and again. They definitely have a repeat customer. This pool was not the worst, but definitely not the easiest and I just got here 30 days ago and paying to clean up someone elses mess for the past 10 years. They did not complain. They did not stop. The transformation was amazing as I sat inside and watched them wave their magic ends and make my pool look good. Jolene in the office was nice as well. No one pushed me about payment.
