Really fun place. Excellent food and the owner/chef was nice and friendly. Loved the food and would definitely recommend it.

We had mixed feelings about this place. The fried chicken itself had good flavor, but unfortunately 6 out of the 16 pieces we ordered were badly burnt. We tried two of the burnt pieces and they tasted very bitter. When we asked if they could replace them, we were told they had already run out and couldn't make another batch. The pricing was $10 for 8 pieces or $18 for 16 pieces, I was order $18 for 16 but the bill was not right. We only ordered three dishes in total. Although the restaurant opens at 4:00 PM, by the time we arrived around 5:30 PM, many menu items were already sold out, including the pizza and steak. The salmon was also served undercooked at first. They did remake it, and the second salmon was cooked properly, but the replacement portion was about half the size of the original. Our server seemed to be new and may not have received enough training, so the issues weren't handled very well. In the end, we left still hungry and went somewhere else to eat. read more

We went for breakfast today and were very impressed with the quality of the food. Less so the cleanliness of the restrooms, so maybe that's something they should work on. But the corned beef hash was exceptional and made with big chunks of corned beef, and the Salmon Benedict was fresh and delicious (see photos). read more

Best breakfast ever!! They allowed me to order 1/2 portion of King of Avocado Toast and it was a perfect size!! I ate all but the toast (just to avoid extra carbs) and every bite was delicious! Poached egg was perfect and the combination of ingredients was fantastic. This is a family owned restaurant and the owner & chef came out to greet us as we were leaving. The entire menu is amazing and made us wish we'd eaten here sooner during our stay at the Worldmark. My husband said the coffee was really good and he's extremely picky! They're open for breakfast and lunch currently, but hope to serve dinners in the near future. They actually offered us the senior citizen discount without us having to ask (we usually forget to ask)...that was really nice. They also allow adults to order from the kids' menu if desired. The food was solid and the service was excellent. Our only complaint is that the oil in deep fryer should be changed. Won't keep us from coming back. My husband said it was some of the best corned beef hash that he has ever eaten. read more

Humble on the outside but amazing food on the inside! This place is incredible, everything they make is basically homemade and cooked with such care. The service was great too -- everyone was so nice! This is the only restaurant in the area we came back to multiple times while staying in the area for the week. Wonderful food. The owner/chef came out to speak with us which I always appreciate. They were able to accommodate my need to eat gluten free. Had an early morning breakfast here before we drove back home to Sonoma County because I just had to try it based on others yelp reviews. Service was friendly and prompt and the coffee was tasty. Cute decor and clean bathrooms too. My friend really enjoyed his eggs with a thick ham steak, and he subbed a pancake for the potatoes. I snuck a couple of bites of the ham and it was really good. I ended up ordering the fried chicken and waffle sandwich because it also came with 2 fried eggs and bacon. That was a no brainer decision! The waffle was so good with the cheese and serrano peppers in the batter. All in all a tasty breakfast sandwich, and it was so big that I had leftovers for the drive home. Definitely going there again the next time we visit our friend in Klamath Falls. read more

My family and I were visiting the Running Y and stopped in for breakfast. It was so good, we came back for lunch the next day. A week later, I am still thinking about their food! The breakfast potatoes were crispy and delicious. Burger was great. Fresh whipped cream on the pancakes. Everything tasted fresh. My family of 4 loved their meals, that never happens! Service was lovely. The chef came out to talk with someone and I could hear his passion of fresh, quality food and the effort he puts in to serving great food. And, he's very good looking! Came here with my husband on our way to Crater Lake. It's located in a resort. I am perplexed that there weren't more people here for brunch. My husband had tri-tip and eggs that were perfectly cooked and seasoned. I had the avocado toast and French toast. Everything was so good I had to write this review right away. I will start by saying I don't really know if the food is good, my review isn't about the food. I had previously been to the old location with a friend, the day before they were closing for the Thanksgiving holiday. So understandably they had very few menu items available, in preparation for closing for a few days. The waiter was super friendly and attentive, and most of all apologetic for not having the items we would have picked. He couldn't have been nicer. So we decided we would definitely return. Months later, new location and great reviews, we went yesterday for my birthday lunch. There was a table occupied outside which looked like a take out order, two tables occupied inside and a medium size group in the adjacent room. One table of 4 was finished eating and just chatting. We sat and waited to get menus. A young couple came in and and sat at the counter, and were immediately given menus. I politely asked for menus when the only visible server walked by on his way out to the outside table, ignoring us. By this time I had figured out that things weren't up to par, and something was wrong that day. He brought our menus and finally a waitress came out of the kitchen, so we were relieved that there was now 2 servers. I have to say that she didn't look well, and didn't seem to be on top of her game though. We finally gave her our order, and sat to observe, as the young couple who came in after us, received their delicious looking food, very quickly. ( before us and the other table that had ordered before we even arrived. Plates were brought randomly to the group in the back, one at a time, during this whole ordeal. Then the other table that was there before us finally got served, and more plates were taken to the group. I've worked in and owned restaurants, so I do know that it was pretty unorganized. Not one time did anyone offer a warning or apology, that they were short staffed,( or whatever), and that it might take a while etc. The energy was strange, and strained. I even joked that maybe the waitress was doing the cooking too, with all time she spent back in the kitchen. At any rate, it was so different than the first time we went, and eventually, though I wasn't watching the time, (probably at least 30 minutes passed), we had all we could take, and got up and left. MY friend said, "should we tell them we're leaving"? I said "no, we treat them the same way they treated us". Two hungry old ladies trying to enjoy a birthday lunch, took a nice drive out to Running Y, and this is how it went. It was just so disappointing. To the management, SERVICE is EVERYTHING! I do hope that you will read this, and learn something. read more

The food was amazing. I had the best chicken strips that I have ever had. The cook came and talked to me as to how he cooks them and they are fresh not frozen. You can tell the difference. My friend had the Tri-tip steak sandwich and it was overflowing with meat. It is a place you must try. I know I'm going back. Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get. Went to this little eatery for lunch today and was pleasantly surprised & totally impressed with the hospitality and homemade meals that were served. Everything we ordered was made from scratch, down to the Ranch Dressing we dipped our fresh cut French Fries. I ordered their Reuben sandwich that was slow smoked BBQ'D and was absolutely juicy & delicious! I can honestly say that this is the best Reuben Sammie in Klamath Falls bar none! I watched them cut my fries fresh before they cooked them in the fryer. The Iced tea was brewed fresh this morning! This is a family owned & operated restaurant & I was told by other patrons that The Joyful Cafe was named after the Mother of the family in honor of her passing. The staff is over the top ready to please your every whim to ensure you have a delightful experience. I highly recommend this cozy little establishment. The food is not only top notch delicious, the staff is even better to make sure you enjoyed your meal. The prices are reasonable for the quality of food you get!
