Plus pretty high price for a small town restaurant But it did not pan out well The five spice duck leg is wayyyyyyyy too salty. Felt like my blood pressure was exploding after eating it. Did the chef accidentally drop a bag of salt in it? I had to drink 4 bottles of water after eating it. Couldn't finish it cause how salty it is. I travel to Klamath Falls for business about 2-3 times a month, and over the past year I've eaten at BMB several times. Up until recently, the food had been consistently superb, which is why my last two visits were disappointing. I previously ordered the beet salad and absolutely loved it. However, during my visit two weeks ago, it was completely different from what's shown on their website and Yelp menu. Instead of being served on a plate with arugula, it came in a bowl with kale. The kale was extremely tough and difficult to chew, and there were very few beets in the salad -- I actually had to search for them. Overall, it felt like a completely different dish from the one I had enjoyed before. Last night, I ordered the seared scallops with corn risotto. I was told they were out of corn and would substitute asparagus, which I agreed to. The corn risotto I've had there before was excellent, with plenty of corn and great flavor. This version, however, looked like half an asparagus spear had been blended into the risotto, so there really wasn't any noticeable asparagus flavor at all. What also stood out was the portion size compared to previous visits. Last year, I remember paying around $26-$28 for this dish and receiving four nice-sized scallops along with a generous serving of real corn risotto. This time, the dish cost $36 and came with five very small scallops -- about quarter-sized. The flavor was still very good, as it always has been, but the increased price combined with noticeably smaller portions left me feeling unsatisfied. The bright spot is the service. The waitresses there are always excellent, friendly, and attentive, which definitely helps the overall experience. Will I return? I'm honestly undecided at this point. It's hard to justify paying $36 and still leaving hungry. In fact, afterward I walked down to the Pikey and grabbed a hamburger -- and that review will be a much happier one. Yum! read more

I travel to town quite regularly. My go to steak has been Roosters but I decided to try BMB last night after some recommendations. Let me tell you this was amazing. I don't like Brussel Sprouts but the ones in this picture were amazing! The steak akin to Ruth's Chris. Atmosphere is like something in a big city. Drinks are good, food is good. Service is ok. We ordered the tri tip and the rib eye. The tri tip was cooked to a medium rare as requested. It had plenty of flavor with the chimichurri sauce. It wasn't as tender as I hoped for. The rib eye was good. It was a fatty cut of meat compared to other rib eye that I have had. It didn't have a lot of flavor except for the chimichurri sauce. The fingerling potatoes were good. The pickled onion and tomato compote were not good. The drinks were good. However, stars docked because almost al of the drinks we had were sweet. We asked for non sweet drinks and they were still loaded with sugar. The only non sweet drinks were the whiskey ones. The vodka and gin drinks were loaded with sugar. There were only 2 servers for the whole restaurant. The gal that took our order didn't write it down, and our order was wrong. Wow, what a wonderful surprise! Come for the martinis, stay for the excellent food. My partner and I split an arugula, beet and goat cheese salad that was small but outstanding, and the red wine mushroom ragout that was also outstanding and a very generous portion. We enjoyed their Garden Parti-ni with Gray Whale gin (a great suggestion from our server Tony), and then I got a glass of Willamette Pinot Noir to go with the mushroom ragout. All while sitting outside on Main Street and listening to a lovely singer at the whiskey bent saloon across the way. A perfect end to a heavenly day in the Pacific Northwest. read more

I came in tonight hoping to eat dinner but I had my 7 year old with me, not knowing this awesome place was 21+. The server was super kind and took my order to go, quickly getting me checked out and on my way, so I didn't have to find another place to eat. I was really over road food, and needed some fun food in my life. The to go did not disappoint. I got the ribeye and it was well cooked and well seasoned. The twice baked potato was delicious, as were the Brussels. My kiddo had chicken Alfredo and I can happily say she did not finish, so we have leftovers for tomorrow! If you are over 21, their dining area and bar were super cute and they also have a table or two outside to enjoy when the weather is nice. Highly recommend! Absolutely lovely dinner with friends. We didn't have reservations but were able to sit right away. Cocktail menu is extensive and original choices. My "Hot Mess" was superb. (Jalepeno tequila, strawberry puree, lime, Cointreau). My friends had a sage martini and a coconut milk gin concoction. I tasted theirs and found them lovely as well! The food: WOW! My scallops were cooked to perfection, over a bed of roasted corn risotto which was heavenly light and tasty. With some dollops of cream with a hint horseradish, drizzled with balsamic. Amazing dish, get it if you can! Not overly pricey either. Our table also had the chimichurri flank steak with roasted potatoes and a roasted tomato/onion side which was delicious. I have dined here twice in that last month. It has been hit and miss. While sitting at the bar, we were ignored until we asked for a menu and a drink. We ordered scallops, which were really good. However, my fettuccine Alfredo was dry with almost no sauce. I told the server to resauce it, which they did. But it wasn't really hot. On my second trip, my burger was flat-out burnt. I have very little confidence in the kitchen. There is one table server I have had a few times who is fanminal and makes this place look great. At the Martini Bar I believe, 3-28. Lighting in the restaurant is quite dark even during the day. Server was incredibly rude and yelled at us for asking her to turn up the lights above at bar. I'm visually impaired; lighting in restaurant too dark to be safe/enjoyable. We left and went to Roosters where the lights at the bar were perfect. You could actually see the menu! The servers behavior was inappropriate and offensive. Won't be back and do not recommend unless you bring a flashlight. read more

The food menu has plentiful offerings with 9 apps, 4 salads, 9 entrees and 2 desserts. Plus a wide array of signature and seasonal cocktails, beer, wine and Monday-Thursday happy hour specials. If you can't find something you like here, maybe you're not actually hungry or thirsty. I opted for the summer peach salad with blue cheese and candied walnuts and seared sea scallops with corn risotto and horseradish cream with a glass of Chardonnay. ~Chef's kiss~ Did I mention I loved this place? So much so that I returned the next night. Went for the heirloom tomato salad with watermelon, avocado and basil then dove into the most amazing mascarpone cheesecake drizzled in caramelized Jack Daniel's Honey whiskey sauce. I stopped here during a Greyhound-to-Amtrak layover as it is within brisk strolling distance of the train station. I called as I was walking to make sure they didn't need a reservation for one and they assured me I would be fine coming in within ten minutes. I checked out the menu in advance and was interested in the chef's soup selection and it just happened to be borscht. I rejoiced. They also then confirmed for me that they were out, which means I went with something else but decided there and at that moment to come back and try their borscht by any means necessary. I figured I would carb-load to the max as the evening was getting only chillier and went with the fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp; I for the first time in a long while also decided to order bread and butter alongside the pasta to get my dough fix. The pasta was amazing and the sauce and shrimp proportion to the pasta in the bowl were generous; I would definitely order it here again. I enjoyed a seasonal cocktail, "Sweater Weather", and it tasted light but had a great balance of kick versus sweetness. I finished all of the sugar on the rim, too. We had a bad first experience here and haven't gone back.. First off the service was terrible, we were seated and didn't see a waitress for over 15 minutes, when she finally came to our table she wasn't very friendly and just tried to rush us to order. We placed a drink and food order. I ordered the steak and she asked how I wanted it cooked, ordered it medium but it came out so dry I couldn't eat it, I ate 2 bites and couldn't eat more. when our waitress finally came back to check on us my husband was finished with his dinner and I mentioned to the waitress my steak was over cooked and she didn't offer to get me something else or take it off the check just ignored it and said she would get our check. Ordered two apps, a salad, two entreats and 4 beers. Few things to note, they don't have an extensive wine list. The best salad was good but the beats were under cooked The chimichuri tri tip was soo spicy that I couldn't even finish the meal. I can take my spice but don't over power it to hide the taste of the steak! Such a disappointment. My potato sides were also uncooked where they had a hard center. The gilled. We arrived just after opening in the month of August. The place was clean and nicely decorated. They had a large variety of cocktails that were to die for. Hubby and I sat at the bar and had the sweetest young lady Cheyenne served us, and she was on top of it! Gave specials, recommendations, and a little chit-chat, the perfect combo! The food was yummy. We had the chimichurri tri tip and the Peach specialty salad and the chicken poppers.... All in all, I would definitely return, and from what I gather, it's best to make a reservation. Both were well balanced, unique and reasonably priced. We had the Artichoke dip appetizer, which was very creamy and delicious. Rather than "soft and pillowy," what I got was some dried out and overly crispy nuggets that tasted like they came frozen in a bag from grocery store. We came to Klamath Falls, OR to celebrate our 53rd anniversary. We were looking for a fine dining restaurant at which to celebrate, but were not finding what we wanted until we came across reviews for the Basin Martini Bar. Based on the reviews we read, we thought we had the right place. In spite of that we were still not sure until we entered the restaurant, and were immediately struck by the wonderful ambiance. Needless to say, we were blown away by the appetizers, the specialty drinks, the entrees, wine list and desserts! I had the Honey Glazed Salmon, and my wife the Scallops with Corn Risotto. The food is always great, and it has a great atmosphere - upscale and energetic, but small enough and with enough space to come alone for dinner on a business trip. This time, I was served by Mariah. The food in this restaurant the current owner-chef prepares is absolutely out of this world - just try the scallops with corn risotto! Drinks? Yes - they are also fabulous - just have Cheyanne mix you something up either on - or off the menu - she (just like the owner) is a master. I had delicious chimichurri tri-tip with a summer peach salad, along with a fruity gin cocktail and a guava cider to wash it all down. (Don't judge me, the steak sauce is a little salty!). The serving of steak was generous. The restaurant is a classy white table cloth place in a historic town, and the bartender was smart, quick and witty.
