Never bring your vehicle in here for maintenance. We brought a vehicle in WITH the engine light on. It threw codes and all of a sudden, the codes were gone and we were charged $200. They did nothing but still charged us. We even have a warranty on the vehicle. Outrageous. We've had the vehicle, bought from Joyce, less than a year. Sheamus helped me quickly find exactly what I was looking for. He let us test drive and even drove for us on the highway (because I was nervous) so we could get a good feel of the vehicle. He kept great conversation and made the process go smoothly! They were transparent about everything, no hidden fees. The car was nicely cleaned and ready to take home when we arrived. I am writing a follow up to my initial experience with this dealership. I bought my certified used vehicle, with very low miles, on October 19, 2024. Within 2 weeks of owning the vehicle, I noticed an unusual sound and the vehicle shifting abnormally. I made an appointment with my local GMC dealership as Joyce is over 2 hours away. Within 10 minutes of them driving my vehicle, they advised there were issues with the transmission. Due to their scheduling, they could not fit me in until November 25th and it's been in their possession since. They just reached out to me today to advise that they have been unsuccessful in obtaining the correct part due to the manufacturer and will be replacing my transmission entirely. The transmission is on national back order with no ETA in sight. My vehicle will be in their possession until that time comes which could be months from now. I am not happy to be paying for a vehicle that is not in my possession or drivable. I called Joyce and spoke with the manager, Tom. He was unwilling to do anything for the inconvenience and was given nothing but insincere apologies. They were eager and happy to sell me the vehicle, but not willing to back their sale. To be ok selling a vehicle to a customer with major issues and not doing anything to make it right is extremely disappointing. Since I had no choice, I have reached out to a lemon law attorney and the case has been accepted. read more

We went to Joyce Buick after having 2 very bad experiences, at Medina Auto Mall and Morris Buick. We were in search of a new Buick Envision. I was not very hopeful, as we just left Morris Auto. Upon arrival we were introduced to Sean Joyce. He handled our purchase. He was SO very nice, professional and very helpful. He made the car buying experience fun again. I highly recommend him!!! BEWARE: I bought a used car from here and told it was all checked out yet their techs skipped changing the really dirty air filter, there was a mouse nest on the cabin filter that they left in the car, and the oil was 1.5 quarts LOW. This is after i was assured it went through their service department. Then within 24 hours the check engine light was on for an O2 sensor and a bad battery so almost $300 later the car is ok now. I reached out to the owners, general manager, sales manager - about my disappointment and experience and the response I got was the typical "it's used that's what you get, you can return it if you want"(from one of the owners) Ok - let me return it after I've fixed everything and put money into it because that makes sense. You could've offered a small gift care or something to help out and turn this into a good experience but this shows the owner doesn't care once you sign papers and pay for the car. Not the type of service I am used to but I guess this goes to show how I've had a better treatment at Lexus/ BMW/ Mercedes/ Acura/ Infiniti dealers where I have bought cars previously. I'll never come back to this dealership which is sad because I've had over 40 cars in my 20 years of driving so far. Make sure you take any used car from here to a mechanic because this dealership is skipping the whole check over process. BEWARE. read more

I am still completely blown away by the service I received from Sam Alhout. I live in Kansas City Missouri and had been searching for a vehicle for 3 weeks, with no luck. Every dealership I encountered felt like they were lying to me and pressuring me. I was so frustrated with the process that I decided to expand my search nation-wide. Even the salesmen I emailed from various dealerships across the country were still trying to pull one over on me with thousands of dollars in extra hidden fees. It all felt really icky. But then I found Sam at Joyce Buick GMC. Sam Alhout was the first salesman I encountered who felt authentic, kept it real with me and wasn't trying to trick me with sales tactics. He earnestly explained to me the reasoning behind everything and he gained my complete TRUST. I knew that I wanted to work with him from that moment on. I moved forward with the deal and Sam was in constant communication with me throughout the paperwork process. He made it all seamless. Then I hired a 3rd party trucking company to pick up my vehicle and ship it to me. There was a snafu at the dealership and Sam immediately called me and offered to get on a 3 way call with the shipping carrier to help rectify the issue. Again, he did not have to do that and I saw it as going above and beyond for me. Once on the call, Sam really had my back and fought for the carrier to make things right for me. Unfortunately though, I was back at square one on not having a way to deliver the vehicle. I told Sam that I was really stressed, so I was thinking about flying to Cleveland and driving it back home myself; however, I was nervous to drive 12 hours alone because I am not great at driving long distances. What did Sam do? HE OFFERED TO GET IN THE VEHICLE AND DRIVE IT TO ME! I couldn't believe my ears when my car salesman offered to spend 12 HOURS driving to make sure I had my vehicle. I almost cried! Sam jumped in the vehicle at 10:30am on Thursday and drove straight through, arriving in my driveway at 11pm that same night. The poor guy was still in his nice slacks and button up work shirt when he drove across the country and showed up at my house in the middle of the night. Talk about customer service! I am still in shock! After he delivered it to me, he didn't even get a hotel, instead going straight to the airport to close his eyes for a few hours and then fly back home at 5am. I am a loyal customer for life after this experience with Sam and, even though I don't live in Ohio, plan on buying from Joyce Buick GMC in the future. Sam is the most loyal, trustworthy, honest guy in sales I have ever met. He was truly a blessing and an answered prayer to my family. A kindness that I will never forget. read more

First time at this dealership back in October 2020. Test drove the vehicle we were interested in and actually found another. Ryan Conway said he would love to earn our business and seemed to do everything in his power to make that happen even if it was two months later. Dealerships all sell similar vehicles it is sales and service that makes them different. Haven't had to deal with service yet but as far as the salesman-Ryan Conway, made the difference. After 10 months, 3 service appointments, close to $2000.00 out of pocket expense my truck that I brought in to get a vibration looked at and fixed while it was still covered under warranty has not been fixed and the warranty is up. After doing the last guess by the dealer and the vibration was still there I called the service department and was ghosted by them for 3 weeks and then I got GM involved and in between the time of having calls with them, being ghosted still by service and the GM of the location, my warranty ran up and now no one wants to help get this taken care of unless the repair is paid out of pocket now. read more

After being told our coolant turbo lines were cracked we had to move some things around to get the money. Call the dealership on a Wednesday and are transferred to the parts department to see how long it will take to get the parts in. Parts department says "Wahlberg next door has them. We can get it from them". Transferred back to service and make an appointment for Monday. Told to bring it in as early as possible so they have time to get the car in to be fixed and offered a loaner. Saturday rolls around and we receive a call that Wahlberg only has one but we need 2, don't bring the car in Monday in case we don't have it. We will call you first thing Monday morning and let you know if we have it. 11:30am and no call. Left a voicemail and receive a call that they don't know if they have an ETA on the part but let me call parts and see if they know and we will call you back. 4:45pm no call. Call again to be told they found the part in a store and will call us Tuesday morning to let us know if they got the part. 12pm and no call yet again! Call and speak with someone who says "oh we're short staffed". That excuse is so over used for any poor communication. There is no way I should have to chase you down for communication. Meanwhile I'm not driving my car in case the coolant lines completely crack and all the coolant runs out causing more issues that I'm sure they would blame us for. Lost wages due to not being able to go to work, paying for daycare that my kids aren't attending because I can't drive them there and now I'm waiting again for a call back which I can only assume won't be happening. Once this part is fixed I will NEVER go to Joyce Buick/GMC again. If you're so short staffed management should step up and help. Unless poor communication and customer satisfaction is how you prefer to run your business. I have waited for my car to be serviced there before and the turnover time isn't so fast paced that a call can't be placed. read more

Great customer service. I have only dealt with their service department. I have a 2010 GMC Terrain which I did not purchase from Joyce. I was previously taking it to a different GMC dealership for various services. Started going to Joyce due to the fact the other dealership was beyond helpful. I havent had one issue yet (knock on wood) with Joyce. I am always in and out. I have always gotten a loaner car. They treat you very well here. I am lways kept updated as to what is being done and the costing of the work. I dont feel they overcharge...prices are fairly reasonable. With all the issues I have been having with my Terrain, I wouldnt trust anyone else but Joyce to fix those issues. read more

I have bought a number of cars in my life and it is rarely easy, much less pleasant so when I needed to accompany one of my international students to purchase a car I knew the unique circumstances and needs could make it very challenging. I was prepared to the worst and our day was a comedy of errors on our end (forgotten wallet 30 min away, unable to reach the foreign bank, etc, etc) and yet the dealership was nothing but gracious, patient and helpful! They turned it into a very positive experience, expertly assisting and troubleshooting the many obstacles that popped up. Every person we encountered from the salesman, financial person to the owner were all honest and accommodating. Went to look at 2020 gmc Denali truck that I found on line. Salesman said truck wasn't there and was on the truck on its way there, should be there in a week or two And he would call me when it gets there. I asked if I could test drive a similar truck to see how it drove and would not let me. Well it's been over a month and no call not even to say it's still not there. READ THE LOW RATED REVIEWS. Don't get pulled into the positive reviews by friends and family. Read the poor reviews, there is a common theme. I recently went in to test drive a used vehicle. I was told by the salesman, James, that they do not negotiate their pricing. He asked me "Why would i sell to you when i can get the asking price over the internet and ship it out of state?". I pointed out some issues with the vehicle, the bumper was hanging off, and asked if they would make that repair. He responded by informing me that they did not have a body shop. Then he informed me that i owed too much on my vehichle and he was not willing to finance a deal. As it turns out, I went to another dealership (which I will not name as this is not meant to promote that dealership), and secured a 2017 vehicle. The new vehicle cost more than the used vehicle I was inquiring with Joyce about. But there was no problem with trading in my vehicle or getting the car loan. Last note of concern is their hours of operation. They are only available to you until 6pm Tues thru Saturday. Makes it difficult to get to them if you have a job working 9 to 5 and have any sort of commute. Even if you do get there before they close, chance are you will lose your vehicle for at least one day. Why would a used car dealership only be open till 6pm during the week? Something does not seem right there. To be fair, they are open until 9pm on Monday. In closing, I am a firm believer in everything happens for a reason. It was not meant for me to get the vehicle I looked at when I visited Joyce. I wanted to share my opinion with anyone who may read these. read more

I asked the salesman, James, many times to be very specific as I considered buying a 2005 Audi A6. James assured me the car was in great condition. I asked him to look close at the paint as the paint condition has to be perfect. I still have the texts to prove this. James assures me over and over that this is a great deal. He even goes to "look the car over" one last time to make sure he is being honest. He tells me it's a great deal. OK, so trusting Buick and James, I give them a credit card number to hold the car and start working on my 4+ hour drive. I pay $131 for a car rental, take two hours off work, pay $70 in gas and head down. As I walk up to the car I see the front headlights are hazed bad. OK, just a minor indication. Did not expect this on an Audi but, I can deal with this. We get in and the display screen looks like they took a coin and scratched the hell out of it. I look at my wife and she gives me a look that says, what have we gotten ourselves into? Well, OK, if that is the worst, then maybe it is still OK. So we go for a drive and I pull over a mile down the street and get out to look the car over. My wife says, "You did see that 8 inch crack in the seat, right?" I look in from the passenger side door. Sure enough, there is a huge crack on the left side of the seat on the back. It's bad. Right then we knew this car was not taken care of. I walk around the car looking now. The drivers side tail light is busted. It is cracked so bad that water is beading up on the inside of the lens. This was easy to see. James just acts sheepish about it. So I continue walking around and easily find that the back left panel behind the rear wheel looks off. So, I open the door and find over spray. Yup, the car had been in an accident and the repaint was a horrible job. I spotted this instantly. I point it out to James who says, "Oh, its just the clear coat." Yes, he does think we are this dumb. Typical car salesman. I point out how to tell it's over spray and show him where the paint is flaking off and showing bare metal. Yes, the repair was that bad. I show him where the damage was and he "looks" and can now see it. I am frustrated beyond words. I trusted them and they lived up to the bad name of used car salesman. A Buick dealership!!!! James says he wants to go back because he does not feel comfortable being away from the dealership this long. It had been maybe 7 minutes. More like James was feeling caught and wanted out. I tell James I want reimbursement for the rental, the gas and the two hours of work I lost for this car. He says nope. The car was as is. So, I end up asking for the used car manager. I wait fifteen minutes. He could care less. He knows who I am and what I want but makes no effort to address the issue. Finally I ask to talk to Jim Judge, the general manager. I explain the issue to Jim who clearly did not care. I told Jim that if he would just reimburse me for my costs that I would leave and consider it a wash. He said no. I informed him that if he was unwilling to reimburse me after they lied to me this bad I was leaving feedback. The pompous ignorant man gets angry and still says no. I leave and call Buick headquarters. They were polite and listened to me with respect unlike Jim, but in the end I was told that they were doing nothing for me. DO NOT TRUST THIS DEALERSHIP. James says what he must to get a sale and JIM JUDGE could care less about the customer. He is the type that is nice if you are happy but could care less if you get screwed. I just called to get a tire fixed under warranty. The service manager actually said, "I don't want to mess with that." Serioisly?!? Lazy much?? Worthless!! If a tire is to much for you to handle, I definitely wouldn't want you to take on anything else larger to fix. read more

My husband and I purchase a used vehicle from Joyce and couldn't have had a better experience! I had a very specific vehicle that I wanted and happen to find it at Joyce, which was a 4 1/2 hour drive from our home in MI. Before driving that distance, and because we had a very bad experience in the Chicago area the week before, I emailed Joyce about the condition of the vehicle and if it was as nice as they had said on cars.com. Karl Witt, one of their salespeople, emailed me back and asked if he could call me while he was walking around the vehicle. I did allow him to do that and he told me that there were 3 small pencil size nicks in the passenger side door trim. He said other than that, the car was spotless. I told him how picky I was and he told me he was equally as picky and I would truly thank him if he delivered the car to my door. I got the inclination that Karl was telling me the truth, so my husband and I made the decision to drive the 4.5 hours to check out the SUV. When I got there it took me about 3 seconds after walking around the outside of the car to know it was the one! Karl met us outside and he was as pleasant in person as on the phone. He had already had the 3 pencil nicks touched up for me and the car was spotless on the inside and ready for me to test drive. We test drove the car which one confirmed that it was the cream-puff I had been looking for. Karl then spoke with Mr. Joyce and gave us an even better price than was advertised, which was already very competitive. When we left, the car had a full tank of gas and all stickers removed. This is by far one of the best, if not the best, used car buying experience we have ever had! Sold me a used car, first day home in my garage it leaked oil all over my garage floor, their "service" tech had cross threaded the drain plug into the pan and they were trying to claim they got it like that even after they changed the oil??? The car from what an actual knowledable and respectable dealer told me said it appears it might have been slid into a curb as the rear sub frame is shifted over in one direction. As this isn't under warranty I asked if there was anything they could do to help me out as I have just purchased this car. They said, nope it's not under our warranty. So the car leaked oil first day, and after they "fixed" it with a new plug it continued to leak. Had to take it back and they "fixed" it again by tightening the new plug. The car radial pulls terribly bad, so I have to buy 4 new tires, and the entire rear sub frame is shifted from something the previous owner did. The negligence of this dealership is incredible and if you ever have to deal with the over weight clown that is Jim Joyce, I HIGHLY suggest simply not doing so. He will look you in the face with any of your problems and shrug at you "oh Well, not under warranty" they could NOT care less they sold me something I immediately have to fix. Stay away from this horrid place. They are simply middle men trying to flip cars. read more

Their service department is a joke. It took them 5 times to fix a door panel rattle in which they damaged my door panel and then they tried to cover it up. Paul Gorman the new service manger is incompetent, along with his technicians and just made excuses and even admitted they had an unqualified tech working on it. This is his first time trying to be service manager. Have had electrical issues and GM had to tell them what to fix and even had to order the part for them since they couldn't handle that. They told me my steering issue was air in the fluid which is impossible since its electronic steering there is no fluid. Their service advisors know nothing about cars. The general manger Jim Judge wont call you back neither will Kevin Joyce the owner. I wouldn't recommend buying a car there or even let them wash ur car. There are much better GMC dealers in this area with qualified people to service ur car or sell you one. read more

WORST SALESPERSON EVER!! I was trying to help my father buy a, new, SUV so, I called JOYCE BUICK GMC in Avon, Ohio to inquire about a vehicle that I saw on Autotrader.com. The list price for that vehicle was,approximately, $36,000. My dad was, already, approved, for a loan from his bank so, I made an, initial, cash offer of $34,000. Most people would agree that it was a GREAT offer. A salesman by the name of " Terry " didn't think so. Instead of keeping me on the hook, this idiot responds with, " I don't know how you figure that. That MUST be all the money you have." As much as I wanted to lose my temper, I remained calm and discontinued the call. No, Terry, that was NOT all the money I had, but, because of your ignorance and disrespect, your company won't be getting any of it. I am going to assume that he sells cars for fun because, obviously, he does not need the money. NEVER spend money at an establishment that disrespects you. read more

James K was the best sales person I have ever dealt with in my life! He was very responsive to any questions I had and extremely accommodating with making sure he was available to be at the dealership when I could make it there. I live about 30 miles away and have a limited schedule. I met with James three different times on two different vehicles and he was patient and great to deal with.
