WARNING!! I contacted the dealership ahead of time to confirm a specific vehicle listed on their website. They verified the VIN and knew I was driving 30-40 minutes to see it. When I arrived, they were waiting for me outside and took me straight back. I again stated I was there for that exact vehicle. After 20 min of collecting my information, THEN they told me the vehicle just sold. I don't believe that was truthful. Another Kia dealership had already checked the same VIN earlier that day and told me it was not available. That means this dealership knew it wasn't available before I even began traveling there. Even if there was an honest mix up, they could have told me as soon as I got there instead of collecting my information and wasting more time. This is not how you treat customers, and I won't be returning. My interactions were with Chris (sales consultant) and Bill (sales manager). I recently had an appt at Montrose Kia set for July 30th at 1:30pm. I worked with Robert S. (Bob) to check in and explain what was wrong with the car. Bob was very nice in confirming he understood what I was explaining to him & offered a shuttle service if I didn't want to wait because service would take about an hour and a half & the building was under construction. He confirmed that the shuttle would also be able to pick me back up to come get my car when it was finished & that I'd receive a call. I was initially shuttled home by a service employee, Jeremy, who also confirmed I should get a call with an update on my car and they'd send the shuttle back to pick me up. Three hours later, at 4pm I got an automated text from Kia saying my car service was completed and that Kia looks forward to working with me again. I was still waiting on a phone call update on what happened with my car and confirmation that a shuttle was being sent out to pick me up. After waiting to hear something for an hour after receiving that text I finally called Kia asking where the shuttle was and spoke with Jennifer. Jennifer was kinda & said she would send a driver right away, as if it was unbeknownst to them that I even needed to be shuttled back there or was waiting for an update. I waited outside my house for 40 more minutes and no shuttle ever showed up & I received no calls. I only live 5 minutes away. My boyfriend who was at work at the time frustratedly called Kia on my behalf and spoke with Jennifer again who then transferred him to speak with someone in service who claimed to have called me twice to notify me that there were no shuttles available. I never received any calls whatsoever!! My boyfriend had to leave work all the way from Strongsville to be able to pick me up and bring me to pick me car up before they closed for the day. By the time we were able to make it there it was near closing and everyone in the service dept had left already. I was handed my receipt and my keys with still no explanation of what was found with my car being looked at. When I asked for an explanation the young counter girl was looking around for someone in service for me to speak with and said that they all had left already. An employee that was sitting on the couch behind me thought he was funny, laughed at me and made a comment that I was "too late". I was not there late because I wanted to be, I was there late because I received horrible service!! The counter girl was finally able to put me into contact with Rachel as she was walking out the door. Rachel was able to go over things with me in the end and suggest the next steps with getting my car serviced further. I was nearly unable to get my car before closing which would have made me unable to go to work the next day because of poor communication and inadequate service. Rachel placed a call to service Manager, Freddy, and advised him of the situation that had taken place with me as he also had already left for the day. He said he would give me a call the next day between 8-8:10am to discuss my concerns. I again never received a single phone call from anyone at Montrose Kia. I have never purchased a vehicle from Montrose Kia due to bad reviews. I only took my car there for service because it was the closest dealership to me, my mistake. I paid my car off in 2018 and my favorite feature of my car was my backup camera. About a month after my car was out of warranty it quit working. There was absolutely nothing that Montrose would do to help me with the situation. I told them how much I loved the service that I got when I bought the car, I loved the car, I wanted to buy more Kias, and there was absolutely nothing that they would do to take care of my camera for either free or at a reduced cost. I begged and pleaded for them to do anything to please help me get this fixed for less than the $460 that they were quoting me. I asked them if there was somebody that I could speak to at corporate and was told that corporate does not override individual service centers. After calling corporate I found that to be absolutely true. Fast forward to today. I took my car in for a free anti theft software upgrade (which incidentally could not be done because I have an aftermarket remote starter), and ended up asking if they could please take a look at the door to my gas tank, because it's very hard to open, and sometimes will not open at all, as well as a couple of lights that would not go off on the dash. After it was determined that I had 60,203 miles on my car I was told that I was 203 miles out of my 60,000 mile warranty, and they were going to charge me a diagnostic fee to look at it. This is the second time that this dealership has been unwilling to help me out when I have been slightly out of warranty. They made sure to tell me that my car was due for it's 60,000 service for $700. I will never give them another dime. If they bothered to take care of me when I needed it I would probably save up the $700 and have it done because I love my car and want to keep it for as long as I can. I have worked in customer service my whole life and this isn't how you keep customers. It was my full intention to buy another Kia and now I have to say that I absolutely won't. It has been my sad experience that the service center in this particular dealership is just not interested in helping customers or rather, me. A little bit of extra effort/help would go a very long way. I was clearly upset when I left and no one made an effort to talk to me or ask me anything about what was going on, they just let me leave. I'm very sad over this whole experience and won't hesitate to tell anyone not to go to this dealership. I want to say that I am not upset with any individual person who works there. I understand that they are just doing their job and it's not personal. First, just to be clear: we love our 2016 Kia Optima and it has always run great! However, Montrose Kia in Sheffield Village, Ohio seems to have broken our PCM by getting it wet during a routine test because oil was burning off a bit faster than normal (I've spoken to other mechanics who think it's likely they got it wet, especially when they refused to send me photos or documentation of the part after I explicitly asked). Derek Leuenberger told my wife over the phone "not to talk to lawyers" because "they'll get us in trouble." I'm not sure if he was threatening us that Montrose Kia would get us in trouble, or if he was saying the lawyers would. He tried to refuse to send an itemized estimate at all on the phone after I had mentioned having a legal consultation with lawyers and speaking to three other Kia dealerships in Ohio who all confirmed that what was described just doesn't happen. Without variation everyone has confirmed that we should have at least been able to pick our car up in the condition we dropped it off. I'm disabled, and this is our family's only car. They aren't responding to us anymore, and it looks from their Facebook page like they're doing this to us (possibly targeting seniors and disabled people though I can't say for sure - it just feels what a few mechanics have described as "shifty"). Came in Fri (10/11) at approx. 5:30p (close to time of closing). Antonio was there to greet us outside the front door. We were not there to buy at that time, only to see about a Kia Telluride & comparing between another car option. We didn't realize it was almost his end of day. He stayed with us, answered our ?'s, gave us the information we were curious about AND we never felt rushed. Antonio took his time with what was a HUGE decision for us. After many discussions thru the weekend, Monday a.m., we were back at Montrose and bought the KIA vs the other vehicle we were toying with re: a final decision. On a side note, we have a 2012 Sorento (purchased and serviced at Montrose until our dtr changed KIA dealerships d/t convivence of location for her, now having the car, near Lakewood. We could have gone anywhere, but the integrity of the Montrose team for us was a no-brainer. It is really hard to get a hold of their service department. I had an oil change scheduled on the day of a storm. I get why they did not want to do it but, did not even offer to reschedule for me. Tried to reschedule online and they have everything all blocked out , tried to call and they never answered. This is not the first chance I gave them, and one of the service guys there is really rude and unhelpful. When we purchased our 2016 Sportage, we paid $299. for a rewards card that would give us half 50% off on oil changes and reduce costs on other service and products purchased at the dealer to maintain the vehicle, on my last visit we did not get the discount, we complained and were told that the rewards no longer exist and only 10% would be taken off. so, warning do not waste your money on their products they sell at purchase time, you may not receive them down the line, I will take my business elsewhere, including whom I purchase my next vehicle from. The most honest, straightforward, kind/friendly, and informative sales experience was shown to me with having Jayson as my point of contact once I walked in the door. This was hands down the worst interaction I have had with a dealership in my lifetime. My wife and I have been looking for a Telluride for awhile. We attempted to work with Jimmy, who let us know about on that was due to arrive within two weeks. We agreed to a vehicle purchase price with a $5000 market adjustment. He let me know that a $2500 deposit was needed for the vehicle to be earmarked for us. We called and gave our payment to the cashier. Jimmy then asked how we would like to pay. I told him we would put down a large down payment and finance the rest. I also let him know we would likely use our personal bank because they have very good rates. He told me the dealership typically has the best rates so would I be interested in financing through them. I said, if you have as good of rates as USAA then that is fine. Jimmy then showed me a monthly payment option that included an additional $6,733 in warranties and accessories that were not discussed or requested. I asked for these to be removed and he complied and sent a new monthly payment option. The amount of the monthly payment was not of concern, so I said the charges listed to finance looked good. The dealership then overnighted us a financing packet to review and sign. It was not until this, that we noticed the interest rate on the loan offered was over 5.5%. I then let him know I am going to check against my banks offered rate and get back with him. After another day passed Jimmy checked in with me regarding the paperwork, I let him know I should have everything I need by the end of the day and get back with him and let him know when I sent the paperwork back. It wasn't until this point I was told if I chose to not use their in house financing (which I let them know was a full 3% higher interest rate than my bank) that they would "unwind the deal". I requested the dealership GM to please call me to discuss the situation. Later that afternoon the sales manager called me to discuss the situation. He proceeded to tell me that changing financing now is in bad faith, it does not benefit them if I use my own financing, and that we "agreed" I would use their financing as the deal. He also told me if I chose to back out of the deal they would keep my $2500 deposit, then gave me a reasoning of it costing them money to "restock" the car (that hasn't even arrived or been notified as in transit). They told me I had 3 options 1)purchase the car using their financing 2) Use my own financing and they will increase the vehicle purchase price another $3000 (now a $8000 market adjustment) 3) I could unwind the deal and they keep my $2500 deposit. I made it clear to them the only deal we would accept was the original agreed upon purchase price of the vehicle (which was never mentioned requiring in house financing). Jimmy never once told me, prior to taking it, that they would try to keep my deposit as non-refundable. At this point they are holding my money hostage in hopes to pressure us into a vehicle purchase using strong arm and extremely sleazy business practices. It's now been 2 days since I let Jimmy know " This deal has become excessively uncomfortable for us. Will you please return our deposit?" And I have been completely ignored, no messages returned or phones calls. I have all correspondence for the described situation and plan to share my experience on any and all avenues so no other customer has to be subjected to this. read more

Took my car in for a recall, and due to backordered parts, it was there over 5 months. When I got it back the battery would not hold a charge. Their technician said it was most likely from sitting so long. It was a top of the line battery, less than 5 years old. I explained we had no problems with the battery when we brought it in, but they said the battery was not their responsibility. The service manager, Fred Dawry, asked me to reach out to him after I posted a review on Google, but I have left him 3 voice mails, and have heard nothing. Took my brand new car purchased (Feb 2023) in for an oil change and alignment. Service manager came back to the waiting room told me 2 of my brand new tires needed replaced due to wires showing. When I asked him what would've cause this on a brand new car he had no explanation. I then went out to my car when it was finished and looked at all my tires. Only 1 tire had wire showing on the inside and then the other 3 were perfectly fine. Until I noticed a bunch of chunks missing on the side wall of another tire ( these missing chunks were not there when I brought the car in) I tried to reason with the service manager and come up with a good explanation for how those chunks would've appeared like maybe a tool in their shop? Or maybe the tech accidentally dropped the tire on something sharp? Noooooo instead the manager began to deny it all and started to ignore me and wouldn't help me figure it out. Now I need to purchase 2 new tires on my brand new car. Service manager is a joke, should be fired if he doesn't want to help the customer or explain the cause or reasoning for things appearing on cars HIS team works on. I have been there for updates to my 2014 Kia Soul. I recently made an appointment online to have them install an anti-theft deterrent update that Kia was offering. I was very happy to find out that I could bring my car in the next day. When I arrived, I was asked what I was there for and when I told the lady who asked, she looked confused and then grunted. She asked if I made an appointment, I told her that I had done it online. She looked it up on her computer and said that they had not found my appointment. She saw that I looked upset, and she asked me if I wanted to make an appointment for another day. I was already put out by the fact that I had made arrangements for that day. I think they need to figure out what's wrong with their online appointment app. I made an appointment with another Kia dealer and had no problem getting an appointment that they kept. Our experience here was dreadful. My wife and I were hunting for a Seltos EX. Wanted to get a standard 36 month lease. Presented the numbers we were given as estimates from 2 other dealerships who no longer had inventory, along with what we wanted for our trade, which also had estimates for. We both have tier 1 credit scores and a good reliable income streams. Mikey never felt invested while we were there and didn't seem very interested in getting us in a car despite the 2 Seltos EX that were on the lot. We were ready to sign and drive that day but Mikey had other plans in mind. We were given an offer that was 1/3 of our lowest existing offer for our trade in at just $1,000, and a monthly payment OVER DOUBLE any of the quotes we were given at other local Kia dealers, coming in around $525. I am confident Mikey never had our car actually appraised, and am FLOORED that he ran our credit knowing he was going to be so far off with numbers. We know credit is required but ballpark figures can be ran based on a number of things and he should not have knowingly run our credit given how far off him and his team were from what my wife and I were expecting to achieve. The next morning I submitted a form to be contacted via their website and heard nothing from management. We will NEVER recommend this dealer to anybody and plan to share this experience. Don't waste my time and DO NOT run peoples credit if you know you are not going to be able to come to an agreement. We just signed a deal for the same Seltos EX at Ken Ganley Kia for about half the monthly payment Montrose Kia was offering, got more yearly miles, and got 3X more for our trade. I bought my 2012 Jeep Wrangler from Montrose Kia of Sheffield on March 2020. I arrived at the dealership from Columbus, Ohio and the Jeep was ready for me to take it for a test drive and the gas light was on. After purchasing the Jeep, I asked if they were going to fill up the tank and was told they do not do this for used cars. I was speechless at this point and should have had 0 expectations going forward. I paid cash in full for the vehicle. Within a few days of getting the car home, I noticed a couple of bolts were missing from the hard top. Also, the doors for the Jeep would not come off. Another issue was the tire pressure sensor light came on. Lastly, I took the jeep to the car wash and paint chipped off of the hinges. All of these were reported to the dealer. I spoke with the sales manager and the tone was very disrespectful. His response was that I "got a good deal" and I bought a 10 year old car. I'm shocked after spending this amount of money and was engaged in an argument with the sales manager. After this experience, I would not recommend purchasing a car from this dealership. read more

Leased a 2013 KIA Optima from them then bought it outright. On way home from work it just died with no warning. Had car towed to them as I had a bumper to bumper extended warranty, kept getting put off and so started doing my own research and found that while it wasn't currently a recall it was in fact a common issue. Contacted them and questioned about this and was told that they would look into it ... again waited and waited now having had to borrow a vehicle (as they would not give a loner) so called them again and was told to come in. They did agree finally that the engine was in fact blown and that they would rebuild the motor. It still took them 3 additional days to get a rental car for me and they would not refund the towing charges. Moving forward a year, my motor is done again!!!! Had it towed to them again! it took them weeks to determine that it is the timing chain this time (I gave the benefit of doubt due to corona virus with the time delay) again I still have a bumper to bumper extended warranty...they are telling me it does not apply it will cost me $6000 to rebuild again and $140 for the diagnostic charge. I brought up the fact that it was only replaced a year ago!!! and was told if I could supply receipts for oil changes they "might" cover it...again had to borrow a vehicle to get back and forth to work and no loner offered. They are adamant that it is not covered! Explain to me how a rebuilt motor goes bad in a year?!?! Now they are telling me if I don't make up my mind soon (took them over 3 weeks to get back to me) they are going to not only charge me the $140 Diagnostic fee but a storage fee.....contacting channel 8 news as well as the class action suit against KIA in general concerning this matter. I have 3 small children to support and because of missing work due to this was about to loose my job because of issues getting back and forth to work. Worst service ever!!!! read more

Came to Montrose Kia after seeing a 4 wheel drive pickup truck. It looked good on Autotrader. Saw the salesman and started a test drive on the freeway. In 2 wheel drive worked perfectly. Got off and started on side road to get back to dealership. Stopped and placed into 4 wheel drive. The piece of junk banged like someone had just hit us in the back a end and made loud whirring noises as if the thing was going to take off like a jet. Salesman assured me that it would be something minor and could be repaired. Left a 1K refundable deposit to purchase car. After a few days the car was still not repaired. Went in to get deposit back and explained I was not comfortable in purchasing vehicle. Got deposit back and that was the end of it. After awhile I saw the vehicle advertised again on Autotrader. Since I would purchase it if it was repaired I emailed the dealership asking if it was still for sale and if it had been repaired. I received a reply email indicating they would get back to me shortly. Still waiting. One star on dealership's attempt to sell substandard vehicle and poor customer service (assurance of minor problem and no return of inquiry). read more

I had a fine buying experience, but a little over a month of driving the van had a major problem. The van had been running fine, but over the weekend the passenger side A-arm (not sure if that is technical term) broke off while we were driving 70 MPH on an Indiana toll road with our 3 kids. Luckily there was no traffic and we were able to get to the side of the road. I'm not in the habit of looking under my vehicles, but I will be now. I am very surprised that this wasn't caught in the inspections and service of the vehicle. I haven't even had the car long enough for an oil change, but I'm sure anyone under the car would not have let it leave a bay without warning us of this danger. This is what I sent the dealership following our purchase: "I wanted to let you know we did not have a pleasant experience with the purchase of our car last night and my husband was minutes away from just walking out the door. When we sat down to discuss pricing we were treated horribly. My husband was trying to negotiate and the manager was beyond rude. When my husband asked him to check with his supervisor about the second negotiation the manager told us that he was set at that price and didn't bother to get up. My husband then asked him to please check with his supervisor to which the manger replied "is it going to make you feel better seeing me walk over there just to come back with the same answer for you?!" When my husband said he just simply wanted him to check to make sure he huffed away then came back with the supervisor himself. The supervisor advised the price was going to stay the same and that they are taking a huge loss with us because our trade in car was no where near the price they wanted to get as a trade in for the vehicle we were wanting to purchase. Following all of that we still accepted the price and signed the papers. We were told the car was being detailed immediately. Let me tell you this car smelled nothing like a newly cleaned car when we drove off that lot and didn't look like a nicely detailed car either. I don't know if pets were in here previously but it stinks. Huge disappointment. Huge. I've have never been less excited to drive off a lot with a new car. They told us they were going to fill the tank with gas for us. What they failed to mention that it was only going to be half a tank. Today my husband called our insurance company and was told your agency never called them to switch insurances on our cars like they promised they would last night. I drove to work without car insurance. Thank God I didn't get into an accident and thank God my husband followed up with our insurance agency or lord knows when I would have found out that I was driving without insurance. Despised the service we received. Despised the "detail work" that was supposed to be completed. Despise that while I should be celebrating my new car I am instead worried about when I can get it somewhere for proper detailing so it feels like I actually own a new car. Today this car dealership totally wasted my entire day and pulled a bait and switch. They should be ashamed of their business practices. This is the stereotypical car sales company, with the "let me get this approved" by the manager. The deal that was agreed upon via email was not honored and "the person who approved it" called off sick today so there are no notes to confirm. have to say i am very disappointed with this dealership, i recommended them to my mother and she has had nothing but issues with these people. first they sell her a car that they did not have all the way checked out. and even tho she paid for warranties it did not cover her brakes, although she has only had the car 45 days. then she never gets her title to go get her plates, she calls them and they tell her they cant find it... so now she had to take car back and get a loaner until they find title to car. then she gets there and they put her n that ugly ass kia soul... mind you her car is a malibu.. wouldnt you think they would give her a full size car being that is what she bought. so who knows when she will get her car... read more
