I really wanted to do the Hammam ritual here so I saved up for a long time. I enjoyed it and felt great when it was done but I feel like it wasn't thoughtfully crafted and probably only worth about half of what they charged. The first part is to go into what they call a private warming Hammam room, but the warming room is actually not private and is open to everyone using the sauna. There is a private treatment room, and I think this is really what you are paying a small fortune for--to lie down on a 200-year-old authentic Cherrywood Hammam table for an exfoliation scrub. The table itself is beautiful but not very comfortable--it's high up, so hard to get onto, and--like all wood tables--is very hard. Next you are supposed to go through a self-guided journey through the steam, sauna, whirlpool, warming room again, and cold deluge. They have a recommended circuit but there is no way to actually follow the times on it because you only have 25 minutes (and it took me 5 to get my swimsuit back on). I think I was expecting to be able to spend this time focusing on the experience, but it felt more like I was rushing through the steps in time while hanging out in the spa with everyone else, trying to run through all of the steps in time. Finally, the website says this ends with a massage with CBD or arnica oil. This is in a separate room and on a regular and more comfortable table. Mine was just a regular massage, no oils, though I got to choose between lavender and eucalyptus scents. They do have fun add-ons, like shea butter or cupping or hot stones, but those don't add additional time, so you're paying extra to have a massage take less time so they can add on the other thing you paid for. But if you go during your birthday month you get a free add-on. Anyway, my massage therapist was really good but not $580 good.(I don't know if anyone could be!) There are a lot of spas hat are supposed to be for intentional purposes--like a place to put a rock selected for its qualities, or you can put your hand on an enormous crystal imported from Brazil. But they kind of rush you through this part and it doesn't really seem to be designed with care. For example, there is a fountain outside to put the rock that you see before you even receive a rock. It's not clear that you're supposed to pick it up on the way out. There is no clock in the room where you wait for your appointment. The hooks to hang your robe or towel are and there aren't enough hooks for the number of people. Etc. Overall I think $580 is way overpriced for what is offered, which is basically a scrub and massage and the same spa amenities as everyone else. I was also disappointed by the snack selection--they just had trail mix and dried mangos. I guess I am spoiled because I've been to Aji Spa, which has the most amazing selection of snacks and you can get a wrap and massage for roughly half the price. And it's really somewhere you want to hang out at all day. The food menu on the website is also out of date--I'd decided what I wanted to order ahead of time but it wasn't available. So overall I felt like this ritual didn't have the attention and care I would expect for something this expensive. I am glad I treated myself to this experience but would not do it again. read more

This was so much fun!! I don't often go to spas, aka have been once in my life before at Utah yoga place with coloring books ^^, but yeah this was another time I tried it out!! Lots of activities you can do like hammam bath for back, sauna, cold plunge that was really a shower lol, jacuzzi. Then a whisper room where you can lounge on beds and chill. A prep waiting room with water and nut and mango type snacks. And of course the rooftop pool outside with amazing views!! On upside I got to try every activity here lol and it wasn't too crowded (and they give you bathrobes and lockers and stuff), but on other hand it did seem expensive bordering on pretentious to me a bit. We recently visited Joya Spa for manicures and pedicures and were really disappointed to see how much things have declined since our last visit about a year ago. The locker room amenities are very outdated and in serious need of updating. Unfortunately, the rooftop pool area was even worse. Guests have to set up their own chairs, which would be fine, but it's impossible to tell which chairs are actually available because towels are left all over them--used or not. Chairs are scattered everywhere, service is extremely slow, and there was food on the ground from spilled drinks and meals that clearly hadn't been cleaned up. For reference, attaching a picture of their frozen fruit feature, so you can see the quality of food as well. We did speak with the manager, who was very kind and offered us a 20% discount and day passes to return and use the amenities. While we appreciated the gesture, the amenities themselves were so poor that we unfortunately don't see a reason to come back. Completely luxurious experience. We indulged in massages and lounging at the pool and soaking in the hot tub. My only complaints are that the robes do not have pockets so there is nowhere to put your phone or any other small belongings that you don't wish to leave in your locker and the other is: timing of the massage....50 minutes is too short. Why not just up it to 60? It is quite pricey here, but it is very elegant. The Brazilian crystal is quite lovely and I love that the stars in the sky replicate their position on the date that the spa was founded (or something like that?) It was really hot outside, but the pool felt good and there were umbrellas for shade. My therapist was fantastic - she really hit some knots, but I really needed more time. I appreciated the various water stations throughout the spa and the treatment rooms were very warm and welcoming. I hope to come back again one day. read more

Beautiful spa on a fabulous resort property. Met not only guests of the property but also locals. It can be a busy place on the weekends, so make sure to book well in advance if you are traveling from out of town (like 2 weeks in advance to get optimal times or same day treatments). There is a steam room, jacuzzi, cold plunge, and sauna for your use. There is also a beautiful private rooftop pool only for spa guests (which also gets packed during peak hours and hard to find a chair on the weekends). We spent the day at this spa that was on thr resort we were staying to celebrate a friends birthday. The staff were amazing and very helpful. When we first arrived it was quite empty. However, as the day progressed it became more crowded. We were given the standard robes, slippers and towels. We tried to take advantage of every room the spa offered. My favorite was the sauna and them cold splash. They had a few quiet zones with one room including beds that you can actually sleep. We spent the majority of our time at the rooftop pool where it was a little cooler. There were sufficient lounge chairs. I had lunch by the pool, chicken and a salad and it hit the spot. The staff continously brought complimentary iced water to your seats which was greatly appreciated. They also had complimentary sunscreen for all guests by the pool. Overall we had a great day. We didn't purchase any massage services. However, if you're staying on the Omni property, you should still consider using the resort pass which includes the entrance fee and will save you money, as per the front desk. My husband and I have been here a few times. He really likes the indoor relaxation room and I like hanging out by the pool- so the setup works well for us. This past time we ran into a few issues- which management did make right but it's worth noting. I left a voicemail on Monday and had to call again Friday because no one called me back. Their pricing is NOT transparent. Their website pricing is vague and deceiving. There is different pricing for Mon-Thurs than the weekend. Upon inquiring about my bill I found out their premium pricing took effect around Thanksgiving. There is nothing noted to reflect this. When we checked in I asked if I had booked a couples massage and they said no. I asked if we could be in the same room and they said "yes sure no problem we just changed it". We were not informed this incurs an extra charge and there is no couples pricing listed on the website. We ended up paying $250 more than I expected according to the website pricing. The manager did acknowledge and make this right. However, they need to be more upfront and clear with pricing. Also this time around our massage room was freezing. The thermostat read 67 degrees. Even our therapists acknowledged this as we were walking to the room and said they were using space heaters to try to warm up the room. For paying over $400 I would have expected to be more comfortable. We will probably be back because the setup works well for our likes and we haven't had a horrible experience. I will just make sure to clarify pricing by calling to book instead of booking online- also hopefully the room will be warmer next time! read more

I booked the Indulgence Package and found myself severely disappointed with the overall experience. The Indulgence Package is a full spa day, including 5 treatments and a meal. My treatments were all booked within 5-10 minutes of one another and left no time to enjoy the amenities or eat lunch. I had appointments back to back from 11:30 through to 5pm without a break, which meant by 2pm I was absolutely STARVING. When I raised the issue with the staff before my 2pm facial to see what could be done as I felt as though I was about to pass out from lack of food, I was shrugged off and told my next treatment was starting in 4 minutes, and nothing was done to address my concerns. The most helpful staff member was my facial provider who made sure I was able to order food in the middle of my facial- which I then ended up having to eat during my pedicure, balancing the plate on my lap, eating next to someone's feet. It was less than ideal. My massage was disappointing. Instead of feeling relaxed, my body was contorted into horribly uncomfortable positions, that left aches in my elbow and hips for the next few hours. These were not the traditional "soreness" that comes from a deep tissue massage, but rather from being bent into unnatural and uncomfortable positions. It felt like I was at physical therapy/stretching instead of a massage, and I left feeling as though I needed a massage, and I was not relaxed at all. I told my masseuse I felt sore and uncomfortable and she directed me to take an IB profin. In between each treatment you have to wait in a waiting room for your provider to retrieve you. If there are 5-10 minutes between treatments you end up just sitting in this room, instead of being able to spend 5-10 minutes in the steam room or sauna because you are afraid to miss your text treatment. The waiting room had a "tea menu" but none of the featured teas were available- only camomile. This was not the level of service I expected. The package concludes with a manicure and pedicure. I was brought down to the Mani Pedi room which does not match the Moroccan theme of the rest of the spa, but felt more like a Sears waiting room (not a relaxing, or luxurious environment, but white walls, chipped paint, and dirty floors and counter tops). The chairs were uncomfortable, and my feet were left in a bucket of water until the water went cold. My nail tech did not offer any designs outside of just painting my nails, and the polish selection was severely lacking. This was a disappointing conclusion to the spa experience, and I would recommend the management amend the package so that the manicures for spa guests are either at a different location or removed from the indulgence package. This was a treat for my birthday and did not meet expectations, especially considering the costs. I would not recommend this spa. read more

I had a massage reservation for my friend and I to celebrate my graduation. I wouldn't say my massage was great considering that the masseuse talked my whole appointment. I wanted to just fall asleep and enjoy my massage. While in the hot tub we noticed that there was mold growing on each corner of the spa. It was a little concerning since I thought my hair might of touched it. The mold was concerning so we ended up leaving to the pool. The pool area was nice, we were able to order drinks and food while sun bathing. We ordered the turkey burger and bloody mary's which were both delicious. we were able to stop in the whisper room to attempt to take a nap after lunch. Unfortunately, wasn't able to do so since two women came into the room to have a conversation which made it difficult to nap. This is one of the nicer spas in the area. The Moroccan decor is beautiful and they offer a sauna, steam room, whirlpool and relaxation lounges, a.k.a. a room with beds to nap in and curtains that separate them. My last massage was with Sebastian who did an absolutely stellar job. He used perfect pressure, offered me the choice of lavender or eucalyptus oil, and kept applying warm weighted objects/towels everywhere. Tip #1 - if it's your birthday month you're entitled to a free $35 add-on. I chose the hot stones and they were awesome. Tip #2 - If you're an AZ resident check the website for their monthly specials. You can save a lot that way if you're willing to come in Sunday - Friday. The front desk staff is always personable and helpful. My only big gripe about this spa is regarding the pool. They have a stunning view of Camelback Mt. but the pool is tiny and they don't have many lounge chairs or tables around it. Every time I've been there most or all of them are taken and the pool is crowded. It's hugely disappointing when you've paid so much to be there and you want to enjoy your spa day. It started with a joyous 50 minute signature massage and then drinks and reading for a couple hours by the pool...with the beautiful Camelback Mountain for my view. As a patron of the spa you have access to all spa amenities when your massage is complete. The social lounge offers complimentary water and hot teas and the whisper room is a row of curtained beds for a litlle nap time. Another room houses a large hot tub, sauna and steam room. The Terrace pool area has breathtaking views of Camelback mountain as you sunbathe, soak in the heated pool and enjoy some food and drinks. I had a couple of alcoholic beverages along with the red pepper hummus with naan and vegetable crudite...it was a perfect light refreshing meal in the warm January Arizona sun. So, book an early massage and then enjoy the amenities until 630pm. Maybe 17 years ago this place was resort worthy for the service and ridiculous pricing. but what they charge for a basic pedicure at nail salon for $30 for regular nail polish, times that by five :: oh, not to mention the $26 service fee you get added it on.. My wonderful husband surprised me with a spa day, but after finding out the price, I was so sad how much money he had to spend.. The staff is nice, but extremely overpriced.. not to mention my nail polish that I paid extra for was really bad. Had to go back to the next day so someone can fix it. The massages were average and it would have been nice to know that there was an up charge for CBD. The customer service was also lacking. We have been coming here for years. Multiple anniversaries, birthdays, girl spa day. I have to say I'm throughly disappointed this time. My husband and I normally rent a spa suite because it has a bed so after our massages, we can relax. We can also go on the patio and relax as well. When we got here, they put us in the wrong room that didn't have a bed. We explained to them this was the wrong room. We were also told that they weren't busy at all today so it's not like we are asking them to change things while it's a busy day. They said that they were really slow today. So my husband got someone and said this is the wrong room and they said they could switch us to the room we normally get, but we would have to wait while they finish cleaning it. We said no problem. When we get in the room, our massages were timed then so we got our massages, and they left. We didn't have time to look around when we first walked in here. It looked like it was OK.. After the massage we were cold so we decided to go outside. The bathtub was dirty. There are shower mats that are dirty out there. There is only one lounge chair and the vase that's out there is filled to the top with dirty water. Clearly no one stepped foot out there to clean anything. Also, we went to go hang our clothes up in the closet in the bathroom and it's filled with vases and just random things. So we could not hang our clothes. I called down there explaining there was only one chair and the girl said we will get back to you. No one got back to me. So then we went inside and said well since we can't sit outside let's go lay on the bed and relax. We take the pillows off of the bed and there are no blankets on the bed. It's a mattress cover only. Mind you it is now halfway through our four hour rental time and this girl said "I will go ahead and send somebody upstairs to make the bed." Who knows when they're going to come upstairs. We need to start getting ready in about 45 minutes for our dinner reservations. So I said never mind. We are using our robes as blankets. For such a short visit, this was very disappointing. Who approved the room before we came into it? Who would've put pillows on a bed that had no sheets or blankets on it? Who didn't think to clean outside before they brought us here? For what you pay at this spa, this is not a cheap experience whatsoever, it should have been done right. I wonder if there is new management? Something feels very different. Not sure if my husband and I will be coming back for our anniversary. This is like our 4th or 5th time. Sad. So now we go take a shower and it's dirty and the drain is clogged read more

I sent my daughter (18) for her FIRST spa day at Joya. I had been there several times and had always had a great experience . Upon check in , my daughter was told to go in and someone would meet her and give her a tour of the amenities and show her where to wait. NO ONE ever met her in the dressing area and so she didn't know how to use the lockers, didn't know how to get to the amenities or where to wait. After her appointment was supposed to have started , she was still sitting there waiting . 10 min later someone finally came to get her ; unfortunately the massage was LESS THAN 40 min and charged the same . For what it cost to go there , they need to do better. I won't be back. read more

I would expect way more for the price point. This spa and hotel is really poorly run. We've done spa days at multiple different resorts in AZ and I would absolutely not recommend. They seem very short staffed and under resourced. The spa roof top pool is a total disaster. Towels on chairs, no pool attendant, food takes forever to come, no service whatsoever. We left and went to the main pool which was somewhat better. All together I paid $500 for my day which included my service but never again, The Princess is much much much better and well run compared to this place at the same price point. 3 star experience read more

Had a great day at the spa...saunas, hot tub (would be cool if there was a hot tub outside too), cold water splash, relaxed on the outdoor updstairs patio- gets sun and blocks the wind if it's a cooler day. Shade also available. Pedicure looked fine in the end-- but experience was lacking. They didn't have the color I wanted- not enough polish in the bottle. They tried to upsell Dazzle Dry for $20 more - and warned you the other polishes might not last if you go to the spa after the pedicure. No traditional pedicure chairs. They had a large basin for you to soak your feet. Only had enough water to barely cover my toes. The Nail room was dingy... and as I sat in the chair- I noticed dust on the floor and a layer of it on the lamp on the table where I was putting my phone/book. Not sure if the legs of the wheely chairs were ever wiped down. It really skeeved me out... so after the technician finished my toes (which she did first)-- I didn't go ahead with the massage part- I just wanted to leave. Also- I found the chair set up for the massage part-- leaning you back in a supposed zero gravity chair- where you head leans back and feet up didn't feel comfortable for a foot/calf massage. (Kinda reminded me of a doctor visit.) At the end, there was no dryer for your toenails. I went to the spa locker room and asked the attendant for a hair dryer. (seriously?) Upon check out, I shared my concerns about cleanliness with the receptionist- I wasn't really met with any reaction. I've had better pedicures at nail salons for half the price. read more

I took a group of 10 ladies from work for a Spa Day. Booked our appointments several months ago. One of the ladies appt was for 1pm. She waited in the relaxation room. No attendant came to get her. When she found a spa attendant to question this, she was told her appt was for 11am and that she had missed it. We had an email from the spa that confirmed her 1pm appt time. This issue still took over an hour to get resolved. (She was not charged for her appt). My appt was for 2pm for a 80 minute massage. At 2:10 I went looking for a spa attendant, was told she would look into it. 10 minutes later I went looking for her again. She asked if her manager had come out to talk to me. Took another 10-15 minutes for the manager to come talk to me. Apparently my attendant did not show for work that day. I was very frustrated that no one bothered to come notify me that I would not be getting my massage at all. No call, no text. My daughter had the 50 facial, which was good, but she got in the room at 3:08 (attendant running late) and was out of the room by 3:49. That's a 42 minute facial for $225.00. At the pool we did have a large group. My sister noticed that the waitress might by charging another groups food to our bill. She approached the waitress, mentioned that the order she was taking was not with our group. After getting the bill we noticed that we were still charged with the 3 sandwiches the other group ordered. This issue took another 20 minutes to get resolved. So instead of the relaxing Spa Day I was looking forward too, I spent much of my time resolving issues. We were charged an extra $93.96 for our "Spa Group Coordinator" since we were a large group. As a client of the spa, I did not feel that our group coordinator looked after our group. I do this Spa Day every year for my employees, I am sure we will find a more pleasurable, relaxing experience somewhere else next year. read more

Not very impressed with the pedicure service. They had a basin to soak your feet and water barely covered my feet. Booked for a signature pedicure at $90. They tried to up charge a dazzle polish for $20 and insisted that the other polish would chip if we went to the pool after. I had gel on and had to pay an up charge of $30 to get it removed. Which Kimberly tells me I get do everything else except remove the polish if you don't want to pay. Like seriously who gets a pedicure and doesn't get their polish removed?! Cutting my toe nails was painful too. Never had that happen in street nail shops. Really disappointed with what we thought would be a luxury treatment. No cold plunge, tiles are loose when you step on them, pool is tiny and it's uncomfortable when people walk out looking for a place to sit and there isn't one. What an incredible treat the Joya Spa is! We went yesterday for a friend's bday- we arrived around 12:30 with massages scheduled later in the day. Once we checked in, we climbed the beautiful staircase to the spa and were given a tour of all of the amenities. We were waiting for the birthday girl to arrive so we sat out on the Joya Terrace and ordered some food. I had the Ahi Tuna salad with a side of sweet potato tots- everything was delicious! Note- watch out for the birds- they are just waiting for you to leave your seat to grab their own lunch, and you don't want to waste expensive food on them! Once the bday girl arrived, we changed into our swimsuits and just relaxed in the pool. A beautiful mid-November Arizona day! When it became closer to the time for folks to start getting massages, a few of us went into the room with the whirlpool to soak for a bit, but the best part of that was the cold deluge right after! We wanted to get the chlorine off before our services, and this is the reason I deducted a star... It was around 5pm, seemed to be incredibly busy all the sudden with women getting ready, and there was no one to be found to help. The showers were all in-use with one free one, and it was not clean with hair and used towels spread about. Gross. Next up- massage! Ahhhhhh! I had the 50-minute CBD Bliss massage and it was wonderful. We ended the spa day in the Hammam room which was a warm room where you relax and stretch out your back after the massage. From there we cleaned up and headed to check out. We ended our day next door in the Centro Lounge on the patio. I ordered the beef birria tacos and would do it all over again- everything was delicious! A perfect day! A few tips: -Expect to pay around $300 here if you are getting one service (tax + tip included, does not include food/drinks). This feels like a lot for a massage, but use the ENTIRE day. When we checked out, I didn't realize we were charged a "large party fee" (there were 4 of us) of almost $40, and would not have left a 20% tip- I didn't see the fee until later and was bummed I missed it. -Get there early! While you cannot reserve chairs by the pool, I believe many people spend the day out there and it fills up fast! -Go on your birthday! They gave the birthday girl a lunch voucher (totally worth it!) and $35 off her service (which I believe they give anyone during their bday month). read more

My boyfriend & I absolutely enjoyed our day at the Joya Spa! We had such a great time. By reading the reviews, I was a bit skeptic about spending so much money here, but it was totally worth it! We started off by touring the spa area so we knew where everything was. My boyfriend and I parted ways to change and prepare for our couples massage. Erica was absolutely amazing. My massage was right on time & felt awesome! After our massages, we went up to the pool deck to enjoy the views and sunshine. The food was tasty & my boyfriend was very surprised at the size of the turkey burger. I had the chicken wrap and loved it. We also had a few drinks to celebrate his birthday. My husband got me a "Spacation Package" for my birthday and boy did I enjoy it. The space is clean, GORGEOUS, and the treatments exceeded my expectations. The amenities at the spa were a really nice bonus. I was able to go before my treatments and enjoy the steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, and cold plunge. My facial was out of this world and my massage came with a view of camelback. I left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. I will for sure be back next time I need a little "treat yo self" day! read more

Always have a great time here. The views are absolutely breathtaking . I've had many good massages but Anton was the best by far for the hot stones. He has a very good technique and a calming demeanor. Definitely made my birthday more enjoyable. The only thing that kinda caught me off guard , especially because it's never happened before, was the server at the spa terrace. He wasn't rude by any means but he definitely made me feel uncomfortable. He asked if i was paying room charge or credit and i said i would just pay cash . I'm a server so i often have cash on me , and I've paid this way many times before. He seemed confused and said it was " okay for now " Other people were looking at me so i immediately went to my locker to retrieve my purse so he could see i in fact had money and also cards, i just wanted to pay cash . As soon as my food came i asked for a box because i really just wanted to go sit by a different pool. He goes " do you need to see the check ??" I mean i didn't , to which he just verbalized what i owed. It was just very odd he went to go see what my check was but didn't print it out . No worries, the amount sounded fair . So then i pull out my cash and he comments " just so you know i don't have change for you " I work at a hotel too, there's always a place to make change . Again, im like no worries im a server so i have plenty of change. The ladies next to me were kinda staring in disbelief too, it was very very awkward. So I'm doing the tab plus tip in my head and he's just standing over me. I was trying to find the bills to make that, but he was just standing over me so i ended up just handing him a couple big bills because it all felt soo weird. He of course gave thanks for the big tip, and when i say big it wasn't hundreds but more than i would have on that particular tab ( and again, im a server at Global Ambassador, i know how to tip well and always do with fellow industry ) .. in this case though i felt pressured into just handing him bills because he was just hovered over me. I've written many reviews of the hotel altogether, and always positive, and i still absolutely love it here and will be back , i just feel like that interaction did put a damper on my annual birthday staycation. Walking in the spa I felt welcomed and ready to start my day. From going to the locker room and waiting in the whisper area I felt zen . Massage was great and just what I needed! Then we went to the pool to relax and got a nice Frose with a chicken panini. Which was delicious! The only thing I wish they had was more snacks/drink choices in the locker room. Otherwise I loved this spa. And will be coming back for future treatments - and maybe even a staycation! read more

So I came here for my sister's birthday. We all got massages how to say the whole atmosphere of the environment the tons of like places to eat the pool, the fire pit,the hot tub, the everything the sauna it's gorgeous As for the massage part it's good I do think it's ridiculous that it's an upgrade to have a smell scented oil. Yes, that's a little ridiculous. I also think it's ridiculous that the gratuity is already included like what if I didn't want that to be my gratuity, you should let customers pick their own gratuity. I would love to come back for a staycation with my family tho it's just so beautiful. read more

Wow what an amazing place to experience. The theme is Moroccan with intention crystals. If you want to spend an entire day relaxing this is the place. If you get a treatment, the day pass is waived and they will validate your parking. They spa itself offers a luxurious locker room with free water bottles, lockers, robes, slippers, showers, amenities to freshen up, steam room, dry sauna, jacuzzi, relaxation room that had beds with curtains to take a nap. If you go up, there's an outdoor private pool with cabanas and full bar. It is a bit pricey but if you spend the entire day there it's totally worth it. Loved this place read more
