    Came in during Thanksgiving weekend and it wasn't busy at all. Sarah at the front desk was super friendly, super helpful and made us a couple lovely cocktails for our anniversary! We were also each given a little detox shot on arrival. Clean facilities, steam shower, lockers, silky soft robes and Frette branded slippers to take with us. We were given Bonvoy Elite Spa Awards at the front desk for either a free 25 minute chair massage, 25 minute facial, or we could use the value of the award (~$108) towards a full-priced service. BF got the 25 minute chair massage but was offered to use the rest of the facilities since it wasn't busy. I opted to use the credit towards a 50 minute detox massage, with hot stones. Alex was my masseuse and did a good job, communicated with me and ensured I was relaxed through the massage. We were also told the pricing includes 20% gratuity. Overall really enjoyed our spa experience at Away. Friendly staff, relaxing ambiance, and a nice perk for Bonvoy Elite members.

    Phenomenal spa with kind, helpful staff. My service was the nature facial and it was very relaxing and refreshing! Carly was wonderful! The heated pool is up a few floors from the spa and it was a bar on the same level a few steps away. My friend received a wonderful massage while another received a great pedicure from Connie. I'd love to return on my next visit back to AZ!

    Everyone if super friendly. The spa is very clean. I found my aesthetician very professional and relatable. Lots of great recommendations for fidgeting makeup products to try. The cocktails are amazing. Kim and Amanda were both very professional and very helpful before we even arrived for our appointments. Defintely plan on coming back!

    Clean spa, good massage and nice-ish people (in person). I say nice-ish because they were nice in person but then tried to gaslight me in response to my google review. However, I was overcharged and was told that I would be contacted in 2 days. I went 10 days with no contact from the spa manager or accounting department as promised. On the 11th day I was finally contacted after reaching out on the 10th day. It would have been radio silence if I had not reached out to them since they didn't follow through with their promise of contacting me within 2 days. Once they finally contacted me, they told me that the additional charge was for Prosecco. I didn't even want Prosecco. They handed it to all of us when we got in. They never said there would be a charge for it. Then charged ME for the drinks of 4 people. It's definitely frustrating to say the least. They totally scammed me. I never received an itemized receipt or consented to purchasing Prosecco for myself let alone 3 other people. No one in my group received a receipt either. Another person in my group wasn't given the enhancement that was included in the Groupon we purchased. Even though the massage was fine, I wouldn't suggest going here because of this situation. Stay *AWAY* from here.

    PROS: clean, good facial CONS: our entire experience was a disaster My friends were visiting so I brought them here for a birthday spa day. We all had massages and one of my friends had a facial. Two of us had the same massage therapist and were not impressed. The massage itself was okay but the therapist talked the entire time and insulted us. The third massage was great. My friend who had the facial said it was amazing. We wanted to get additional services but there wasn't anyone available. There was no one in the nail area, yet they didn't have anyone available for pedicures. It seemed very understaffed. After our massages we relaxed in the lounge and enjoyed the "amenities", which are really just two small steam showers. There was only one small bench to sit on in the shower, so my friend sat on the floor. She ended up getting badly burned by a metal box that generates the steam. The box was not labeled to caution anyone that it was hot, there was no cage around it, and it was difficult to see in the shower since it was so steamy. She was in a lot of pain and asked a staff member if they had anything for the burn. The staff did not seem at all concerned about this serious injury. When my friend was explaining that she didn't know the metal box was hot, the staff member responded condescendingly "well it IS steam." She had to request ice twice before they gave her some for the pain. The woman did apply aloe to the burn, but she did not wash her hands or wear gloves. We also added on "Celeb Status" which includes a drink, light bites and a swag bag for $50 each. Two of us had a glass of Prosecco, but no one was around to give my other friend a drink. The food never came and was never brought up by the staff. The swag bag was a joke. I hope you like laptop webcam covers! We basically paid $100 for two glasses of Prosecco. I will note that AWAY did end up refunding me for the celeb status after the fact. When it came time to check out, I tried to pay with a Groupon. Unfortunately there was an error with Groupon and the voucher code was never issued. This was 100% Groupon's fault and not AWAY's. A staff member told me she would honor the Groupon price, which was very nice of her. She rang me up and we went on our way. 20 minutes later I received a call from the spa. I thought they were calling to check in on the status of my friend's injury as they promised they would. Instead I was told they had messed up the calculations and I owed an additional $500. I would have never left the spa if I thought it would cost me $800 in the end. I would have tried to resolve it another way. I'm shocked at the audacity of this spa employee to call me and demand an additional $500 for her miscalculation while my friend was being treated for her severe burn, especially considering the fact that the staff seemingly disappeared the moment we disclosed the injury to them. We never did receive a call to check in regarding the injury. We went back to the spa the following day to discuss the issues we experienced regarding both the severe burn and payment with the manager. She was dismissive and rude. As my friend described her injury, she asked the woman if she'd like to see it to understand the severity. The woman replied "I know what a burn looks like." Yet again, another awful encounter with the staff. Ultimately, we were given a full refund (give credit where credit is due), however no amount of money could make me want to have another experience at AWAY. I want to forget it ever happened, but we'll always have the reminder due to the permanent scarring on my friend's back. There are so many amazing spas in Scottsdale. RUN to one of them, and away from AWAY.
