I wish I could give this spa a 4.5 stars. It's more than 4 but not quite 5. It's a small spa but very cozy and comfortablez the Spanish architecture is so beautiful and rustic. The spa is equipped with showers, toiletries, a private hot tub, multiple sitting areas and a relaxation room, as well as a steam room. The only thing missing that I would add is a sauna. I got a facial with Moriah and she was wonderful. She was so attentive and detailed and made me feel so relaxed. I didn't want it to end! She seemed very knowledgeable and was very nice. I would definitely get a facial with her again. After my facial, I took a dip in the hot tub and enjoyed the steam room before heading to the pool for lunch. I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass tacos and they were Devine. I paired them with a watermelon margarita and had the most delightful afternoon. I've been to The Royal Palms multiple times and I'm never disappointed. I will always recommend this spa to out of town guests and I love to coming here to relax and feel like I'm on a mini vacation. I will definitely be back.

We had such a lovely time at the Alvadora Spa. I purchased a Groupon for my Fiancé & I and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We were greeted by a kind gentleman who guided us over to the spa from the valet. We checked in & were directed to the locker room to secure our belongings. Alvadora provides fruit infused water right outside of the lobby. The spa is very small, but it is clean. They have 2 showers and a steam room in the locker room. They also have a women's only hot tub located on the terrace. Our massage therapist greeted us with scented neck warmers & guided us to our couples massage room. The therapists left the patio door opened during our session so we could hear the serene sounds of the water fountain. Mariah did a wonderful job with my massage. She applied a good amount of pressure and made sure to get all the tension out of my neck. After our massages, we caught a vibe at the resort pool. Overall, we had an amazing day at Alvadora Spa!

I bought a Groupon for my mom and I to get a facial & massage for her bday! When we arrived, we were greeted by valet which was free if you were just there for the day! We checked into the spa and were escorted into the beautiful woman's locker room where you can shower and enjoy the steam room. The robes were so comfy and soft, we wished we could take them home! We then headed to the pool before our appointments and relaxed for a few hours. The pool is beautiful and has a bar where you can order drinks and food which we did not as we ate before hand. We then relaxed in the relaxation room with complimentary tea before our appointments. My mom loved her facial and was definitely glowing afterwards! And I very much enjoyed my massage with Judy, she did a wonderful job & had the perfect amount of pressure. My only complaint is that the Groupon was only for 50 mins and so I felt like the massage was rushed ( not that she was rushing, she spent a good amount of time on each body part I just personally wish the massage time was a lot longer so she could focus more on each body part ) Overall my mom and I had a very relaxing time and would definitely have another spa day here again!

From start to finish we had a wonderful day. Valet escorts you to the spa. A nice touch. Greeter was friendly. The spa itself was nice, older- but nice. Clean. The relaxation room had hot tea assortment, nuts and dried fruit, and fruit infused water. David was my therapist and was one of my favorite massages I've ever had. My gf got a prenatal and it wasn't her favorite. I think more bc she's used to a deeper massage than what one can get pregnant- not so much the masseuse. The pool was nice with a lot of chairs available. The gentleman serving was attentive and gave great selection options that weren't on the menu as we weren't drinking alcohol. The view of the mountains from the pool was lovely. The music was contemporary. Overall the amenities are older but still nice. Would definitely return.

Had an amazing massage here!! I loved that the massage rooms had windows that opened up to a fountain so you could listen to the relaxing sounds during the treatment. The check-in was great, relaxation room was nice, overall fantastic staff and facility! My only complaint is that the robes are not very comfortable, pretty scratchy material actually for a luxury spa, but not worth taking off a star. I was in bliss! The little shop is super adorable too and carries the cutest goods. Definitely recommend!

Love this place! My daughter and I were lucky enough to visit again and enjoy the heavenly zen of this amazing spa! I will say that I preferred the hot stone massage to the aromatherapy massage, but either one is a real treat. Hearing the trickle of the fountain while getting a massage- total bliss!

    Beautiful hotel! Lousy spa!!

My husband and I went here to get a couples massage for our anniversary present. And I really must say I was really quite disappointed in the facilities! The massage was great! Dave it was my masseuse and he was incredible and my husband enjoyed his massage as well! However I really thought that the facilities were lacking. The shower wasn't anything special in fact my shower is like that at home so that was disappointing. I also didn't care for the steam room that much because it really didn't get hot. There was a lot of steam in there but it never got hot. In fact, I never even broke a sweat. There is no sauna so that was also another disappointment. And the cushions outside on the lawn chairs were dirty! If this is supposed to be a five-star hotel they should pay attention to the little details like clean pillows outside on the lawn chairs! I don't think I will go back here again although David was phenomenal! Spare yourself the disappointment! There are far too many outstanding spas here in the Scottsdale Phoenix area to go to! By the way, I'm giving it to stars because during my massage they did play the theme from The Godfather! That made my day! Other than that it's a very average spa with limited facilities! As I said before, there are too many other fabulous spas to go to in and around the Scottsdale area rather than settling for mediocrity!

Spent the day here and enjoyed my experience. The lady at the front desk, Shay, was friendly and a delight to interact with. She really made us feel welcome. She recommended yoga in the garden which was a great way to start the day. The amenities are small but I don't think it's a bad thing. I've been to spas where the 'relaxation' room is jam packed with women waiting to be called. They have limited treatment rooms. The massage was excellent, my masseuse David was great. The only bad thing is that the oil was cold. We had lunch by the pool, service was a little slow but if you are relaxing what is the rush. The lady who checked me out wasn't as friendly or attentive, but Shay made up for it. The grounds are beautiful, I would recommend. I am looking forward to going back.

    Is this for women only?

No. Although besides the tranquil "waiting area", I don't think any of the spa facilities (steam, sauna, hot tub, etc) are co-ed. Can probably use the pool area together.

We had to close our shades as the wedding can see directly into our room and the music is LOUD (Chris Brown is blasting as I type and bass, mercy is it bumping.) It was kinda creepy. We could see and hear the entire ceremony. In my reservation I requested a quiet room, and I have quiet room in my Hyatt profile. I don't think that much forethought is put into guest placement. Yes, we are paying pennies compared to this wedding BUT they are not fostering relationships with Hyatt members. (I did mention this to reception and they offered bonus points. Great BUT this is an awful last night.) The room: King Casita is an excellent size! We have a king bed and a rollaway bed and we still have space! The bathroom space is large too! I don't care for a stocked fridge and snacks. It's useless nowadays. We had to ask for a fridge to be brought in. The room is very clean, however there were a few moths flying around the room, which was odd. Pool: the pool is wonderful! We are here on spring break (a very popular travel week) and always found spots at the pool. The servers are the pool are awesome 5/5 stars! Attentive and professional. The food at the pool was great (the burger was the restaurant burger and the whipped ricotta and fruit was yummy). The location is great! We did rent a car but never had to drive far! The valet team is speedy but it's an odd service as the parking spaces are super close. (I was ready to give this place 4 stars but this last night is a stinky way to end the trip.)

I really wanted to do the Hammam ritual here so I saved up for a long time. I enjoyed it and felt…read moregreat when it was done but I feel like it wasn't thoughtfully crafted and probably only worth about half of what they charged. The first part is to go into what they call a private warming Hammam room, but the warming room is actually not private and is open to everyone using the sauna. There is a private treatment room, and I think this is really what you are paying a small fortune for--to lie down on a 200-year-old authentic Cherrywood Hammam table for an exfoliation scrub. The table itself is beautiful but not very comfortable--it's high up, so hard to get onto, and--like all wood tables--is very hard. Next you are supposed to go through a self-guided journey through the steam, sauna, whirlpool, warming room again, and cold deluge. They have a recommended circuit but there is no way to actually follow the times on it because you only have 25 minutes (and it took me 5 to get my swimsuit back on). I think I was expecting to be able to spend this time focusing on the experience, but it felt more like I was rushing through the steps in time while hanging out in the spa with everyone else, trying to run through all of the steps in time. Finally, the website says this ends with a massage with CBD or arnica oil. This is in a separate room and on a regular and more comfortable table. Mine was just a regular massage, no oils, though I got to choose between lavender and eucalyptus scents. They do have fun add-ons, like shea butter or cupping or hot stones, but those don't add additional time, so you're paying extra to have a massage take less time so they can add on the other thing you paid for. But if you go during your birthday month you get a free add-on. Anyway, my massage therapist was really good but not $580 good.(I don't know if anyone could be!) There are a lot of spas hat are supposed to be for intentional purposes--like a place to put a rock selected for its qualities, or you can put your hand on an enormous crystal imported from Brazil. But they kind of rush you through this part and it doesn't really seem to be designed with care. For example, there is a fountain outside to put the rock that you see before you even receive a rock. It's not clear that you're supposed to pick it up on the way out. There is no clock in the room where you wait for your appointment. The hooks to hang your robe or towel are and there aren't enough hooks for the number of people. Etc. Overall I think $580 is way overpriced for what is offered, which is basically a scrub and massage and the same spa amenities as everyone else. I was also disappointed by the snack selection--they just had trail mix and dried mangos. I guess I am spoiled because I've been to Aji Spa, which has the most amazing selection of snacks and you can get a wrap and massage for roughly half the price. And it's really somewhere you want to hang out at all day. The food menu on the website is also out of date--I'd decided what I wanted to order ahead of time but it wasn't available. So overall I felt like this ritual didn't have the attention and care I would expect for something this expensive. I am glad I treated myself to this experience but would not do it again.

You're given a bath bomb to include, if you choose. I found the tub to have extremely hot water, so I had to drain it a bit and cool the water temp a bit. If you're a fan of a soak, this is for you. The pedicure I had was just ok, mom's was good but my gel rubbed off within like two weeks?!? Very strange- I've been getting pedicures for over 20 years and this has never ever happened. I left my water bottle there- I went to get it and it wasn't there but then they called a couple days later with it, which brought me a lot of joy and happiness... so I went back. Third visit- I get Anthony this time and he does great. Yay! But I take my boyfriend this time... he chooses the same style pedicure that I got, but without polish- the lady cut his nails so short that they were almost bleeding and she ground down the tops of all his nails (never seen that for him before), they were rough; she proceeds to ask him if he wants to pay $7 extra to shine his nails- which she just ground down and roughed up?! His pedicure just sucked which was annoying for us both. My rant: why tf is it so difficult for nail places to give men a good wholesome pedicure?!?! They usually are the ones paying if there- they don't need polish and this should be such an easy win for nail salons.... I just don't understand. I put down a deposit for their Pumpkin Spice Seasonal Massage which I was really looking forward to, but the therapist didn't even use the pumpkin oil or any of the seasonal products advertised. My session was cut short due to the therapist "looking" for the oil that she never ended up finding. I'm not kidding she didn't start until 11:15 and ended the session at 11:55. So disappointing for paying over $100 for a service. When I reached out about the issue, the manager Jenny B was shockingly unprofessional. Not only did she TEXT me in a rude and defensive manner, but she also accused me of "threatening" her simply for requesting a full refund to compensate for the bad service, which is completely unreasonable. Her behavior is baffling and frankly, amusing, and it explains why this spa already has so many negative reviews. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere that actually values its customers and delivers on what they advertise. Scottsdale has PLENTY of other spas that treat their guests with respect. Shame on you Jennie and the way you treat paying customers. I will now work with my bank to dispute this since the only solution she offered was a $50 refund. After your spa services, you're welcome to spend the rest of the day enjoying the pool and hot tub area. The space is a little outdated, but still peaceful. Both visits happened to fall on BINGO days by the pool, which was surprisingly fun--I even won a few prizes! There's a poolside bar, though no one has been outside either time to take orders. You can order directly at the window or head inside to a small bar and seating area. The same employee bartends and handles food service for both areas, so orders can take a bit longer--but they do their best, and the drinks are inexpensive and good. Overall, we've enjoyed both visits. While the pricing is comparable to some newer or more polished spas, this one makes up for it with its laid-back vibe and generous amenities. If you're after a luxury aesthetic, this might not be your place--but if you want a relaxing day with cheap poolside drinks and no rush, this is definitely a great spot to unwind.

The pool area was nice and clean, and we enjoyed getting drinks from the bar area, although I was expecting there to be a bartender walking around offering drinks but they do not do that there. The main reason I wanted to leave a review was because of services we received. As a group we felt like none of our therapists/estheticians used enough pressure and even when asked to use more, they did not. I would have preferred a neck and shoulder massage but she massaged my feet without asking. Overall, I expect a facial to include a good amount of facial massage and pressure and unfortunately I didn't get either. I am definitely dissatisfied and regret spending the money. My esthetician was very nice and informative when it came to my at home routine, though! We will definitely not return in the future and we will frequent spas that we had a better experience at. It's a shame, we were really looking forward to this!

I received a SpaFinder gift card, and found Sonoran Serenity Spa as a place that accepts the card…read more Be wary of purchasing this card for folks. It seems like it has many caveats from places that accept it. You can only use it for full-peice services, and you can't book a package of services or seasonal specials. The shop was comfortable and very hippie inside. A bit too many chotchkies for sale inside, but retail is necessary , I realize. The music was a little too crazy and loud for me. Everyone was very nice, and though you can purchase a membership, I loved that it was very low pressure. It actually seems like a good deal that your services can be rolled forward, and can be combined for a larger service. I'm just not a subscription person. I booked an hour massage and a facial. The facial was very thorough and relaxing. The massage was also great, but ended really quickly. When I got dressed and walked to the desk, the gal apologized, as she didn't realize that I had booked an hour. She said I could go back in and get another 30 minutes, but I was already put back together. No thanks. As I checked out, I was also given a cute little facial gift bag, with a nice smelling cleanser, toner and moisturizer. Nice touch. I had a decent service. I'm on the fence about this place. Give it a try though. Better than any local chain.
