*4.5* stars This…read morerestaurant has a very unique taste and dishes that aren't really seen anywhere else in the KW region (not that I'm aware of at least!) I saw it on Ubereats and saw there was a BOGO going on so I ordered it. I was pleasantly surprised at the complexity and variety of dishes they had! If you crave Asian food, I definitely recommend this place. This place seems to primarily be for hotpot, but I can understand with covid it's harder to see that side right now. Nonetheless, they have many options outside their hotpot as well. I got the seafood with vermecilli noodles for my partner and a Mala spice with fish noodles for myself. The beef pho was a BOGO option so I got them for tomorrow's meal. (the BOGO list was quite limited). They were delicious and I found the portion sizing to be quite nice! The soup was very very flavorful and hits the spot. Again something that I haven't found in the KW area at all until now and would crave (since it can be found commonly back home in Toronto) Packaging, wait time and everything was fine. Why it's not a perfect score is because of its price point. It's a lot pricier than some other places. Their primary feature is hotpot and noodles. The hotpot options seemed fairly nice but there's also a few other hotpot places just around the corner too. With the noodles, you can get the same large portion (but different noodle type, same richness in broth though) for half the price that they set it at here. I personally see this place as somewhere I'd get ever so often, or special occasions only. For student prices, I'd probably look to go elsewhere. However, you can't deny how good their broth is, so it's not a big enough deal to knock off a star completely.

We were looking for a dinner place during our trip to Hamilton, saw good reviews from Google for…read morethis place and decided to try it out. They only have four counter seats and mainly offer takeout food. They have sushi, torched sushi and hot food options such as terriyaki don and ramen. Overall the food was okay but nothing too special. I preferred their raw food here compared to the hot food. The Alaska salmon roll was not bad, but the chicken terriyaki was mediocre. Chicken was dry and flavourless.

This is a true hidden gem that will soon be well known…read more Taka and Yoshi have created a winner for Dundas here. Hanma offers a perfect variety of Japanese cuisine, at prices that should make other local restaurants think twice about charging what they do. The space is inviting, minimalist, and warm. The selection of frozen items is ideal for any culinary fan, especially Japanese cuisine. There is a good amount of in-house seating, and on a sunny winter's day, sitting along the windows with a hot bowl of Hanma ramen should be on your 2023 bucket list. With lovely options, you'll be satisfied no matter what. I chose the spicy ramen. As a pacific-northwester, I know that I can be picky about Japanese/Ramen thanks to the amazing restaurants that we have. However, Hanma's ramen is the absolute best that I have ever had. I am blown away by their broth, perfect noodle texture, soul-filling meats, and gorgeous flavours and vegetables. The presentation was stunning, and they deserve so much praise. I wouldn't be surprised if Hanma soon has lines out the door quite often. If you're local or spending time exploring the area/hiking, definitely make Hanma a stop on your weekly takeaway experience. It would be fantastic if Taka and Yoshi offer ramen making classes at some point. Personally, I would pay a pretty penny to join them. Thank you SO much!
