WOAH! I had no idea there was a UK version of Yelp. 'Ello from San Francisco!
This was a great hostel. It was the last one I stayed in during my first and only Eurotrip, summer 2007, and it was better than the hostels I sampled in both Ibiza and Zagreb, combined. Much much cleaner quarters; both rooms and bathrooms. While the rooms are shared among more people than I was used to (I think we had a room for eight, females only), I was OK with it. I mean, my friend and I were always the ones to come home the latest and wake everyone up, but whatever. There were lockers, too. But, as Towelie from South Park reminds us, don't forget to bring a towel!
Cheap, easy to get a reservation just a day or two before arrival, American friendly (we unfortunately don't get the warmest welcome everywhere) and close enough to the underground. There's also a kick ass pub nearby with some of the best fish 'n' chips I've ever had. It's also within walking distance of the London Eye and Big Ben & the Parliament, and just a little further stroll to Buckingham Palace, and to the Piccadilly Circus.
There's a bar inside, big screen TV, computer stations, couches and foosball or pool, I think.
They even give you these little slivers of paper that have step by step directions on how to get back to the hostel from any tube station, should you get lost or too intoxicated. I think it was titled "how to get home while drunk".
A life saver. I can only hope I get a chance to visit again! read more
