I love this shop so much. I have a disability that affects the shape of my feet, and I have always…read morehad an awful time trying to find shoes. When I was a kid, my mom would offer up $20 to the salesperson who could find a pair of shoes that fit, didn't hurt my feet, and that I liked. So when I got new orthotic insoles recently, I was prepared for more of the same. I decided to give Heel to Toe a try because I saw that they also do orthotics, so I figured if anyone could help, it would be these folks. They did not disappoint! While I didn't find anything in the store that day, the staff was so incredibly helpful I knew I had to buy from them somehow. They took the time to measure my feet (turns out they're wider than I thought), talk to me about my issues and what I wanted, look in the back for overlooked shoes, and then finally brought me manufacturer catalogues so I could order them. They knew which shoes would be likely to work and which wouldn't, which saved me a ton of time and frustration. I ended up buying two pairs of boots, and they both still look and feel amazing. Thank you, Heel to Toe!

When I asked for the exact name of the Dunham Cloud I was informed also that she "wasn't going to help me shop somewhere else." In doing so she insured that after that last pair I would only shop elsewhere. They undoubtedly assume I would buy somewhere else and never come back. They are not the store I remember.

They would not give me a refund or exchange. I will not be shopping here ever again. Other stores would have offered me a refund or exchange. They to not stand behind what they sell.

My mother and I went into the Shoe Carnival at Champaign, IL a total of few times this week looking…read moreto make shoe purchases. On our first visit an employee who must of been newer in her position and a manager was one aisle over from us and the manager was obviously trying to show her authority as she was talking loud enough you could hear her from across the entire store. They both sounded as if they were high school girls looking to draw attention to themselves and customers could not even hear each other talk over them. Later on my mother and I returned to the store as my mother wanted to return a pair of the shoes she originally purchased, upon returning there were quite a few customer's in line waiting to check out with only one register opened. This same manager just kept grabbing the shoe boxes of the next customer and stacking them next in line for the one cashier to process once she was done checking out her current customer. I don't know why this manager did not open another register??? Then when my mother went to make her return this same manager returned my mother's monies that was originally paid for in cash towards my mother's mastercard. I have NEVER heard of a store EVER returning payment for an item to anything other than the original form of payment. When I called the manager out on this, she advised that the return had already been made and she could not undo the return. Neither my mother nor myself will ever shoe here again or recommend it to anyone. This manager needs to be put in her place!!!!

My five-star rating applies to Red Wing as a shoe repair store, since I've never purchased shoes…read morefrom them. For repair, though, these guys are TOP NOTCH. After reading how awful some of the other repair places are in town (JJ's has pretty bad reviews, Heel-to-Toe doesn't do zipper repair), I called these guys two weeks before Christmas break to see if they could fix two pairs of boots last minute. They were the only place in town who said they could get both pairs done in that two-week window. They quoted me incredibly reasonable prices ($10 to replace/rebuild heels on a pair of boots, $20 to replace a zipper on another boot), and gave me time to consider the repair cost before taking the shoes. The two staff members I dealt with were both friendly and knowledgeable. The heel repair took less than a week, and the zipper took about a week and a half (because the zipper had to be ordered). They called my cell the day both were done, charged me the quoted price (no tax!), and the boots both look great. The new zipper matches the old one perfectly, is well-stitched, and blends perfectly into the boot. The new heels were stained to match the boots, have great durable soles, and seem like they will last for ages. Definitely worth the cost of repair instead of tossing these babies out. So if you want to have your shoes fixed affordably, in a reasonable time frame, and without any stress to you, this is the place to do it.

First off, comfort is GREAT! My feet have NOT been killing me since Day One with these work boots…read more But the rest of my review leads into a very strong word of caution with your $200+ dollars in the trash. So, really, 4 stars for the initial purchase since they did not have the most common shoe size in stock. 5 stars for the comfort up to this point. The rest of this review drops it down significantly due to support......... Even though the store clerk lady admitted that 10.5 is the most common size, of course, there were no boots in stock for a particular style that I wanted which meant special ordering my boots. I picked them up about January 20th, 2018. I noticed on February 13th, 2018, that the footbed inserts were separating. For $230 work boots, this was just unacceptable to have poor workmanship fall apart in under 30 days of owning supposedly top-tier work boots. So I called that evening and a guy answered the phone and said sure, no problem, bring in your old ones and everything is warrantied and covered for 6 months after your purchase. So I brought them in last night (Feb. 14th about 7pm) and the lady store clerk was working again. Instead of a simple warranty swap, I received a verbal warning that footbed inserts are not covered under warranty and that this would be a one-time inserts exchange only. Feeling a little defeated from a place that specializes in WORK boots and I do in fact work for a living, after my visit, I was curious as to what the warranty was. I was surprised and totally defeated to find this line in their fine print "Product failures caused by excessive or abusive wear conditions, or if worn for occupational purposes, do not qualify for exchange or purchase credit." Bottom line, since I use my WORK boots for my occupation, a company that specializes in WORK boots do not have any warranty when you use them for WORK. Well-played Red Wing, you got me. Shame on me this time.
