We were told for one of the best selections in town go to Guarantee Shoe Downton. The store has been in its downtown location since 1953. We lucked out with our parking right in front. We were greeted by Sally as we entered. I told her my sore feet story and what I was looking for Sally brought out 4 different brands and explained each brands strong points. I tried on all of them, Sally was great no rush she knows her shoes. I decided on a pair of all black HOKA Clifton's. A good quality shoe costs more these days but I deserve it. Sally and Guarantee is the place to go I also picked up a pair grey Sanuk slippers My feet were happy I floated out of the store in my new HOKA's

They have a pretty big variety of name brand shoes from toddlers to adult shoes and they even have clothes here. They don't have a huge variety of clothes, but they have a section across the wall w nothing but apparel, backpacks, socks and novelties. This is not my preferred shoe place for myself; however I absolutely love that they are affordable and that there's a variety here. I would really love to see this place carry Doc Martens, I did notice they have other similar brands like Timbalands, Lugz and other work boots brands, but they did not carry Doc Martens. You should definitely come by to check this place out, you might be surprised to find some of your favorite shoes at a cheaper price.

I ended up wanting to peruse to see if they had a pair of loafers I'd spotted online that I wanted to try on. I like how they have the shoes separated by brand but after searching and searching I could not find the loafers I was looking for. I'm sure it's difficult to stock shoes that everyone will like and it's so simple to shop their online store so I won't hold that against them. I love their rewards program and it definitely comes in handy when purchasing shoes because sometimes they can get pricey. Overall this is a place that I come to first when school shopping for my kids or if I'm needing a pair of shoes for an event or just to compliment an outfit. You should for sure check this place out also!

I did most of my ordering online and pick up in store but it was the keen eye of the girl behind the counter that caught my mistake on the shoe size and immediately brought it to my attention. She then located another store that had the correct shoe size. Called that store for them to hold that shoe size so that I could drive across town to pick it up. I thought that was excellent Customer Service and beyond my expectation. She didn't have double check on the converse if they were for a man or woman to make sure the shoe size was correct? Her taking that extra step made my shopping experience amazing. I was in such a hurry I forgot to get her name but I'm driving back over there today and find out and trying to speak to a manager personally about her. They are having really good sales right now. I saved a bundle. I bought between 3 people I've bought a total of 8 pairs of shoes with the buy one get one half off sale. You can't beat it.

Nordstrom Rack in Bakersfield is an average experience compared to the other Nordstrom Racks across…read morethis beautiful state of California. This Nordstrom Rack has plenty of inventory it just happens to be average, overpriced items that can be found at the TJ Maxx right next door or somewhere between Marshalls and Kohls. Today was probably one of the few times that I actually was looking for a pair of shoes and they happen to be some hocus I don't believe Nordstrom Rack does price matching when they add their stickers to their products but a lot of their products are overpriced whether something is on sale or not is debatable. Today I was looking for On clouds or Hokas for my upcoming trip. The Nordstrom Rack usually has comparable prices to online at the on store or even the Hoka store but after researching several items including the one in the pictures below there's no reason to shop at Nordstrom Rack anymore, instead shop online and save 10 to 20%. I really do understand sales price meaning Hoka can run better sales in most cases as the manufacturer but most items are overpriced in Nordstrom Rack. Ralph Lauren polo shirts two to three years old are still running $70 even more expensive than the outlet price, basically Nordstrom Rack is overpriced in my opinion and this one in Bakersfield has given me reason to continue to go.
