I refi last year when the rates were low and went with Journey Mortgage Advisors. Why? Because in full transparency, I have met Jason before and knew he used to work with mortgages all his life. So thus after talking to him on the phone (Since Covid times we couldn't meet in person), all of our forms and paperwork were all done on line. It couldn't be any easier. My significant other and I originally went with a regional bank for our mortgage. I have to say, we didn't like it because of the amount of paperwork involved but we did it because we had an checking account there. So when we had to refi the first time, it was a lot of work. So much so, I was almost afraid to refi again. That is, until we did it with JMA. It was easy. Stupid easy. There were forms you needed to upload and depending on how fast you want to close, you'll need them done by a certain time. Since everything was done on-line and you have Jason guiding you through, the process couldn't be any easier. Also, we had questions on the weekend because my personal work schedule isn't like anyone elses. Of course, Jason will reply even during weekends. Super impressive with his professionalism and knowledge. The only time we had to do a face to face during this process was with a notary. We did a outdoor meet and even that took no more than 40 minutes with all the paperwork. The first time we did our mortgage, our paperwork alone took 2 and a half hours. I sh*t you not! Now, we have auto-payment set up and in 15 years, we will have this place paid off! Jason is everything you could ever want in a Loan Broker! My wife and I started our home search at the end of 2019, before the Covid19 pandemic. Back then as first-time homebuyers in Los Angeles, navigating the home buying process was already very difficult - even after I had acquired my real estate license to help us make our purchase! By the summer of 2020 the market had only become more competitive, and what with the interruptions to our jobs due to the state-wide lockdowns, my wife and I found ourselves "less qualified" in the eyes of the handful of Loan Brokers we had spoken to. From the get-go, we had our hearts set on our first home being a multi-family property. While some Loan Brokers seemed to give us the perpetual runaround, others doubted our ability to purchase anything other than a condo. It was incredibly discouraging. This all changed when a student of mine made the remark that she "loved her Loan Broker" - a remark that couldn't have been further from how we felt about any of the Loan Brokers we had previously dealt with. So we had to scramble to find a new lender for our home due to unresponsiveness and dissatisfaction with a larger organization. My wife happened to stumble on Jason's business and I'm absolutely thankful she did. We initially had worries about using a broker after listening to my mother's experiences in the past, but we were in a rush and speaking with Jason gave us a lot of confidence in him.
