I fell in love with the island of Kauai. This was made possible by Jill, a bundle of joy, who owns Journey 2, a tour company. With her, we planned our memorable tour. She showed everything that is best and fascinating in Kauai, exceeding our expectations and satisfactions. She entertained us with narratives about Kauai and even treated us with unforgettable donuts on longer trips. Her enthusiasm was contagious. I was so impressed with her because she was so organized, punctual, and very engaging. I remember very well that she could hold good conversations while adrenaline was rushing through my veins as she navigated a serpentine road or as she conquered a hairpin turn. She was a careful driver and she even allowed us to enjoy the scenic coastal roads as the fresh sea breeze caressing our faces through partly opened windows. Oh, yes, what I like with her, is her knowledge of the fascinating places we went, fairytales of Waimea Canyon and the legend of the fat, pot-bellied, hairy, little people Menehunes and the legend of the giant lizard Kaikapu guarding the Spouting Horn. I remember the Waimea Canyon and its splendor, and its magic beauty rightfully earns the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific." When you get to the Canyon, ask her about the legend of the love story of Hiku and Kawelu. It is the legend that Hiku used a long rope of strong vines to go deep into the valley of the Waimea Canyon, just to pronounce his undying love for Kawelu and bring her back to life, after she committed suicide following an argument with Hiku, her husband.
Jill was as excited as we were to see the best of Kauai. We were lucky to find the best person to do the job. Thank you, Jill. read more
