Customers beware! I have been coming here for years. I had a haircut yesterday and found out my hairdresser has NOT been vaccinated and was NOT wearing a mask. And YES, I am fully vaccinated and I was wearing a mask. In fact I don't remember any hairdressers wearing a mask that I could see but maybe a customer or two. What's up with this? Are you not concerned for your customers or each other? This is very disrespectful. In fact I think you should require your hairdressers be tested or vaccinated and masked. It's impossible for the customers to know what they are being subjected to. I know I'm very concerned because it is impossible for me to know whether I have been exposed or not. I have gone to this salon for several years. I am disappointed to break ties, since I the stylist and spa technician I have used are fabulous. However, the owner has chosen to stock profane and unpatriotic merchandise & I cannot support that decision. She states they are not profane just because the word is not spelled out. But we all know what #FJB and Go Brandon mean. Disrespectful to our country & the office of the President. Most certainly her right, but only because she lives in such a great Democracy. I got a pedicure, massage and a Brazilian wax. I loved the massage, it was awesome. The pedicure was good, they had a ver limited number of colors and I asked for just the white tips and she said she couldn't do them. No biggy I just got pink. The wax wasn't bad, the only thing that weirded me out was the same lady who did my pedicure did my waxing and she didn't wash her hands before she started waxing. She also didn't wear gloves. I will go back for a massage for sure, probably not for waxing though. The salon is very nice and quiet and is decorated so pretty. read more

I followed my hair stylist to this salon. At the time of my last visit in early 2010, Most of the staff lacks a friendly, polite attitude. Parking is usually a nightmare. The place is nicely decorated, one plus. I quit going to this salon because the lady I was using was always at least 20 minutes late, then it was 30, then 45, once an hour then one day she forgot the appointment and was rude as if it were my fault. After acting as though they were put out, the staff did talk another lady into keeping my appointment so that I didn't have to come back. The result was not what I wanted. I wanted med. brown with golden highlights and what I got was more reddish brown, even after telling her my hair always tends to lean more on the red side. The highlights were not golden they were very very blonde, and perhaps that was due to her spending a great deal of time talking to her co-workers, rather than watching how her clients hair was developing. There are a few ladies that do a good job. One lady is named Cris I believe. She's a white, approximately 30 years old, thin, approximately 5' tall lady, has short black hair and tattoos. She is in the same area as the lady I used and her cuts and color ALWAYS looked good. If you want snooty staff and spend a great deal of time in your chair, this is a good place to go. What took my ex hairdresser FOUR and a HALF hours takes the lady I use in McKinney 2 hours. That is a cut, color, highlights, wash and style. read more

Don't think I will be going back. It took my stylist less than 30 minutes to shampoo, trim and style my hair. I asked her to do maintenance for the cut with lower layers. She snipped the ends, which was ok, but did not reshape my bottom layers. Nor did she even bother to see if the sides matched in length or not. Her station was dirty and her tools of the trade (brush, comb, scissors...) had not been disinfected. She took some kind of spray and sprayed over her tools for maybe a second. After she took a curling iron to it, maybe 3 sections of hair in the back, she did not offer me a mirror to check it out. I have long, white hair and asked for any suggestions to make it whiter (a rinse?). She stated: "Why do you want to make it whiter? I don't think you can get it much whiter. It is white enough." I scanned the stylist's bios and picked her because it said she was experienced in colors. I don't think so. The name, "Jour Salon and Spa" sounds real fancy, but is very misleading. I found nothing professional about this place. Very disappointed. I drove from Sulphur Springs thinking I was going to get someone who cared about their vocation. read more

Such a relaxing place, an escape from the "real world" for a bit. Clean salon with friendly staff. Convenient online scheduling--with plenty of automatic calendar reminders on your phone (very useful for forgetful people like me). Candi is some sort of hair-color wizard. Schedule with her--she'll be completely honest if something isn't working for you, and she'll hook you up with any kind of color correction or "reconfiguring" necessary. I only went to Jour because I will follow my stylist anywhere but it is nice and the staff is friendly. The parking and location is a little complicated though, so I'm glad I won't be going back since my girl was forced to quit because of a crazy situation. I love this place, especially my hair stylist Victoria! I have never been the kind of person to have a regular hair stylist because I hadn't found a good place to do my hair that I liked. But Victoria is a perfectionist, and she really knows what she's doing. She will give you exactly what you want and need, all while keeping a big smile on her face and having great conversations so you're not bored to death! She does my whole family now, and we just love her! The staff is super friendly as well. I highly recommend you try this place. Ask for Victoria. read more

Best eyelash extensions are here! Katherine did a wonderful job and gave me a full, natural look. It took about two hours, (past experiences took an hour), but I attribute that to how detailed she is at applying the lashes. Totally worth the extra time. I'll use Katherine again and again. I had a horrible experience at Jour. I made an appt with Christy, I decided that it was the day to go from shoulder length to an edgy pixie (something I've been wanting to do for years but finally got up the nerve to do). I showed her the picture of what I wanted, and she looks at me and says "Really????" I asked her if it wasn't something she would recommend, and she says "Well, it's really short. And drastic". I told her that it was what I wanted, and after the shampoo, I finally told her "Look, I'm going to need you to be more supportive. You keep hesitating and making this a really bad experience" and she finally apologized. The haircut was okay, not exactly what I wanted (lacked the "edge" that I wanted, just ended up really poofy). As I was checking out with my sister in law, the receptionist was on the phone (so we weren't greeted), and tossed the credit card back on the counter after swiping it. Two stylists were standing there and never said anything about the receptionist's rude behavior. My husband called to complain, and it turns out that the rude receptionist was actually the manager. I ended up having to go to my regular stylist to fix the haircut. I've learned that I need to be patient and wait for my regular stylist, instead of taking chances on new places. read more

The hair salon is good. But the massage and foot euphoria is not a good experience. The therapist turned my feet blue and my massage was no good. The service was not good. My friend didn't get to have her hair done because her therapist took an extra hour as she kept leaving during her pedicure. A lot of very unprofessional and inexperienced people work there. The clerk at the front desk doesn't even know how to check you in or out. This was my second time to go to this spa and the first time I went was just okay. Do not recommend this place except for the hair. We both where so disappointed about our terrible spa day. read more

I've been for bikini waxing a few times now, enough to say that my experience must be the norm. The entire experience takes too long because there is too much talking and, I'm sorry, I just don't want to listen to the personal opinions of the technician when I'm in a compromising position. I am also very sore the next day because the technician kept going over the same spots over and over saying my hair was "stubborn," I've since found out this is a no-no and big cause for irritation and infection following a wax down there. She also took a lot more area than I asked for and, having extra sensitive skin, I wasn't a happy camper, but she then had to "even it out." The prices are good but with the above issues I don't think I will return. read more

I had an apptointment for a haircut at this salon in mid July. We moved here from Albuquerque NM the month before, and I was only needing a trim. Made sure to style my hair before going in, and making a point to let the girl who did my hair know that I really liked my current cut/style, and just needed a trim. I told her it had been about 5 weeks since my last cut. Before I became a stay at home mom a few years ago, I had been a cosmetologist for 17 years. So I (wrongly) assumed a stylist would understand from that information what I needed. Follow the line of the existing cut, and trim off between 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch...that is not what I got! More like 1 1/2 inches off an already short hairstyle, and the most uneven layers and chunks I have ever seen. This is, by far the worst haircut I have ever had, and that includes haircuts in beauty school!!! It has taken 4 weeks of growing, and me trimming and trying to even out the layers, before i could get it even remotely easier to style, looking decent. I would definitely NOT go back! Which is sad, because the shop looked clean, and the other ladies seemed friendly. read more

I would highly recommend Jennifer Wavrusa at Jour Salon and Spa! I recently moved to Rockwall and struggled to find a stylist that could give me the highlights I wanted without my hair looking brassy. Jennifer did an awesome job today and was able to get rid of the brassiness as well as giving me natural looking highlights that made my hair shine! Prior to my appointment, she texted me to see if I just wanted highlights or if I wanted color too. Upon hearing about my concerns with my hair looking brassy, she requested I text her a picture of my hair so she could see the issues she would be dealing with at my appointment. She was prepared, friendly and above all, she did a great job fixing my hair. She has many years of experience, works quickly and definitely is a master at her craft! read more

When I moved to Rockwall, TX recently, I was in need of a good color and cut. I noticed my neighbor's hair was styled cute and asked for a referral. I was given Jour's Salon and I was referred to Jessica. She was fabulous and now has done my hair twice. Jessica even gives discounts for an early day appointments. She has a great hairstyle of her own and that tells me she likes what she is doing. Thanks Jessica for making me look good!!! read more

Victoria colored my hair several times and overall it was okay for the price. She cut my hair two different times. Both times were unacceptable (uneven, large top layers that left a very thin long bottom layer). So, Victoria colored my hair and I saw another stylist for my cut. I recently booked a color appointment with Victoria online only to arrive at the salon to find that it was a scheduling error and I was unable to have my hair colored. Victoria was extremely rude and condescending. I will not be returning and do not recommend Jour. read more

Jour Salon seems to have deleted my first review....or someone did. I am using my Maiden name in this review, because at the moment....I have to return here for service. Next month, I will be moving on to a better salon! The staff is friendly, but unprofessional. There is more private conversations between the staff, than is appropriate.The stylists and staff are always eating something in view of clients, instead of keeping that to a break room, which is also very unprofessional. The hair color I receive is good, and the price is a good value. But my stylist needs continuing education on the latest cuts, and being able to follow the signs of the way your hair was last cut. (especially when she herself cut it!) I just feel that the Salon needs a more professional air, and the inside of the salon does not have a peaceful spa/salon atmosphere. It feels rundown, and a bit dirty. Management needs to take note, and encourage continued education for the staff and a more professional environment. read more
