We made appointments with Hastings based on recommendations we had received. To be objective, it seemed that this dental facility was state of the art, they seemed to have the latest and greatest equipment. The staff, especially the hygienists and assistants were very nice and professional. They were on top of making sure you were always comfortable. What really turned me off (more like pissed me off) was the upsell along with the sales pressure that the woman up front who handled the scheduling. They would seat you with her as you were exiting and she would hit you up with additional procedures that were very costly and certain unaffordable. I tried to explain to them that I had been out of work, and did not have dental insurance to pay for a $1400 under gum cleaning. They eventually cam back with a procedure using a different piece of equipment for around 1/4 of the price, but still insisted I would require the original $1400 procedure within a few months. Well, all the time I am thinking that my dentist in CT had never come up with all this baloney. Meanwhile, my wife get's told that all her fillings needed to be replaced. She questioned this diagnosis and guess what happened? They sent us a notice in the mail firing us as their patients because we did not subscribe to their treatments. Give me a break!!! I'll tell you what, my guess is this dentist needed to turn in his Mercedes for the new Bently that's coming out. I guess he doesn't realize that dental health care is not the same as selling used cars. I do not recommend this practice as I feel they have very low regard for their customers and their customer's financial situations, they just want to soak you or your insurance for all that they can get.

I had been a patient of Dr Mariano's for about 15 years. He was always great...until Covid. He had…read morereplaced 2 crowns before the pandemic, one of which was problematic. He acted like I was bothering him when I went back a week later, he did something to it that made it worse. I saw his wife, Dr Emersian, who is a excellent dentist but isn't a prosthodontist. She adjusted the crown as best she could. I saw another Prosthdontist in his office that also adjusted it but told me that it need to be replaced ( she's no longer there) It was well documented which tooth was problematic. I saw Dr Mariano as soon as the office reopened (in E. Longmeadow). He replaced the WRONG tooth!!! After contacting him he told he that he "couldn't do anything more for me and would refer me to an endodontist" Two years later the root is fine, but the tooth is uncomfortable and painful (bulky and short) I can't chew on one side of my mouth because of it. Find a different Prothedontist!! He's burned out.

The two Doctors…read moreWohl (Martin, the senior Wohl, and Carina, the junior Wohl) and the third doctor Steed have taken excellent care of my teeth for six or seven years. (Yes, I live on the west coast now, but my spouse and I still belong to their practice exclusively because we are really attached to our dentists!) The dentists and their staff are caring, personable, knowledgeable, and gentle. Over the years, I've had some fillings done, and it has been with kind hands every time. I look for high technical competency, as well as excellent bedside manner in my healthcare providers, and the Wohl Family Practice team fits my needs, and then some. I've visited many dentists in my life, and many dental specialists. These dentists are the best I've ever had. It's a real gift to my family and to the community that the Wohl team is in the world, and I would believe this even if juggling weren't a prerequisite for all their on-staff dentists. I had a very complex case with lots of work to be done, to restore my smile. My teeth were frail, brittle and broken. He made a plan and we worked as a team to restore my smile and my confidence. Dr . Mariano asked fir old pictures to make my smile natural since I needed so many implants. What I realized was for the 5 years previous that I had not smiled in photos! I had to go back to old pictures and I could see how over the years I had lost my smile and self confidence. With the assistance of his staff and Chris Gagner in particular we started a long journey to restore my smile . It took a few years but was worth the time and funds. I have a great smile and self confidence back. I now go to EMA and Dr. Mariano for tuneups and regular scheduled appointments. I am still anxious but they continue to work with me, all of his staff from a smile and warm welcome when you walk in , to all the staff stopping to say hello. Dr. Mariano recognized this so when he made a second appliance that i believe to have been less expensive he didn't charge me for it, but it too was as equally ineffective and inappropriate for addressing my problem. He was insensitive to my anxiety disorder, he made offensive remarks undermining the legitimacy of my disease and left me feeling foolish and insulted. Now his office is hounding me for a $78 bill I owe. I cant believe it.
