Jose over promises and under delivers. Everything sounded nice until the work was being done. My neighbor and I hired Jose to redo our back fence since it fell down. The middle of my fence where I have a plantar eroded so that part was crooked. We all agreed to straighten, but instead of just straightening that... Jose took my entire fence towards my yard. The fence is straight but at an angle! He also cut my gazebo without asking to fit his fence that he said was in the right area. If the fence was put at the original post, why would you need to cut the gazebo? Also, if done right, why would my plantar stick out in my neighbor's backyard (see images) ... When we asked Jose to put the fence back to original post he refused and said his work is great. Both neighbors told him to do it and he still said no and will only put it back to where the city tells him to. My sister and I paid an extra $1000 for a certified surveyor to come and we were right, fence was put in too far into our land by 5 feet! (See photo) We asked Jose to fix this and he said he'll only fix if we give him more money. He went back on his word and still had the audacity to say he did it right... not sure how you put the fence right if you didnt follow property line? Common sense to me! Now we are having to escalate the situation as we have lost so much of our property. And he still refuses to reconcile his poor work. He is unprofessional, does not keep to his word and by no means followed proper protocol as a licensed construction worker. read more

Most pleasurable experience of all contractors I've worked with. Jose goes above and beyond to ensure the job is done right the first time. I was in the market to have my old wooden fence removed and replaced along the backside of my property. My fence was 10+ years old, rotted and my neighbor's dogs behind me would continuously dig and occasionally end up in my yard. I had reached out to multiple companies for quotes, however I ran into many contractors who did not respond or flaked. During my continued search I ran across 'Jose's Fence' on Yelp. Based off the many positive reviews I decided to reach out. Jose responded very quickly to my request for a quote and was even able to come by same day to survey the yard and get exact measurements. My initial impression upon meeting Jose was that he was professional and well dressed. I received his quote shortly after (same day) and was very pleased with his fair pricing. I agreed to the terms and Jose was able to start work the following day. Jose showed up to the job on time and was able to accommodate my work schedule to ensure that prior to beginning the project we were both on the same page. Jose began work and was very focused throughout the project. No matter how busy he was if I had any questions and/or comments he would pause and answer them all while being very courteous. The original timeline for the project was to be completed within three days and I was pleased that with his diligence and skill he was able to complete the job in just two days' time with no setbacks. Not only did Jose produce an impeccable fence he was also able to solve the issue I was having with the neighbor's dogs with his expert recommendation to add a footer to the fence. I highly recommend Jose's Fence! I got a few bids on the project and since a neighbor had used him that helped me make the decision to hire him. He went the extra mile without being asked, he is very concerned with the quality and ensuring customer satisfaction. His pricing was in the middle of the bids but I found out later he used better quality materials than the others had bid on. He also did a section of iron that I don't have a photo for now but will add later. He did a great job fixing up my gate and adding the iron section. We were in need of a fence as our new rescue dog discovered he could easily jump our old chainlink one. I got 5 quotes, but Jose was the one who really explained what he would do for us and what was needed for our particular job. We have a large backyard that slopes down to the fence along our property line and along the city sidewalk. He was the most reasonable and he could start the job the soonest. For these factors, he was our selection. Jose was delayed by a couple of days due to a previous job, but we understood. It was still sooner than the others had quoted. When he arrived, his partner was not there as he had broken an ankle. My husband and I were wondering what we had gotten ourselves into. Well, before long, our worries were gone. This man single handedly removed a large amount of debris and the old fence, hauling it all away neatly. Then he meticulously installed our new 6 ft by 158 ft with a hidden self-closing gate cedar fence. He achieved this all in less than a week during the hottest summer I remember!! The finished product is excellent and we are extremely pleased. The only change in price was due to having to cut back some large yucca branches and remove the root to a tree that had grown into the old fence, forcing him to rent a chainsaw. Our yard was left immaculately clean and he informed us each day when he was leaving and what the plan was for the next day. My husband and I cannot endorse this man enough. A bit disappointed as Jose's Fence came highly recommended by two of my husband and I's friends. It started great. I called Jose, but received an automated message to text him. So I text him and he texted back right away and was even able to come on such short notice to assess it for a quote. We were so relieved because our house is currently on the market when the rain/wind blew down our fence. We only had the next three days to find someone to fix it before a weekend full of showings. When Jose left, he said he would message us later that day with a quote. He never messaged us that day, but I gave it till the next morning in case he was busy with work. I finally text him at 11am the next day to follow up on the quote. No response. I called him later that day around 6pm, to which I just received the automated message to text him. So I text again. And again, no response. At this point, I was so confused as to why I felt like I was chasing him. It has now been three days and I have yet to hear from him again.
