This dealer lied to me about the condition of the vehicle I purchased. I though I could trust a…read moreBENTLEY dealer to be transparent and honest, but they deliberately concealed body damage and now will not reply my emails, calls, or text messages. I purchased a 2023 Porsche Macan GTS from out-of-state -- it's not a Bentley, but I still spent $80k plus tax, fees, and transport cost, and I will need to spend another $17k+ to get the vehicle into the condition that they told me it was in.
I asked the sales person, Odai Alzeer, and sales manager, Austin Campbell, multiple times for pictures of any damage prior to purchase. I was told that there wasn't even so much as a rock chip, and the vehicle was in perfect condition. It arrived with a large, irreparable dent on the hood, a scratch on the rear bumper that is all the way through the paint, and extremely poor quality paint and body work on the passenger door, which is bent and does not close properly. The door has a ton of body filler on it and it isn't even the same color as the rest of the car! This was all immediately identified the moment it came off the transport truck, so any one at this dealership with eyes would have been aware of the condition of the vehicle on the lot. When I brought this up with Austin Campbell, he blamed it all on the transporter (as if they could paint car while it was on the truck!) and said it was in perfect condition when it left. I went back to the listing photos as was able to identify the damage, which I previously assumed to be shadows or water spots because I trusted that the dealer would have photographed all of this when I had very explicitly asked for photos of any body damage. It also has quite a lot of scuffs, scratches, and rock chips that can be attributed to normal wear and tear for a 3 year old vehicle, but the damage on the door, bumper, and hood is far outside of that. I even contacted the previous owner and he confirmed that he was aware of the damage prior to trading it in to this dealership.
Austin Campbell said that he would "further investigate" but won't even reply to me now. Other lies told to me by this dealer included maintenance history (the full 20k mile service wasn't done, only an oil change), the location of the vehicle during the purchase process (it wasn't being sent for a wash, the dealership owner's wife was driving it), and it having small accessories that never existed. The listing also claimed that the vehicle passed their 125 point inspection, which evidently excludes body damage and missed a mechanical issue (leaking engine mount).
I (naively) believed that a dealership representing the Bentley brand would be honest enough to disclose the actual condition of the vehicle. Instead they took advantage of the fact that I was buying it sight unseen and essentially scammed me out of thousands of dollars. I am going to have to spend a small fortune just to get the passenger door to close properly so that I can have a passenger in my vehicle, and be without the car that I just purchased for weeks while it is the body shop. And then the car will have a body work documented on Carfax, which will hurt future resale value.
My experience with Bentley of Indianapolis has been what you would expect from grimy, bottom-feeder used car dealer, not a luxury brand like Bentley. The car I received is not what I was promised, and this has been the worst customer service that I have ever experienced. I would not recommend buying a car from this dealer unless you like being lied to and throwing your money away!
