They completely overcharged me for my car. 2011 Buick Regal almost 63k miles $8500, I've only had the car a little over a week, I've had to get the key fob replaced as it was already loose. I now have to get the struts/shocks replaced. As a young woman I didn't realize how bad it truly was until I drove the car for a few days & my dad drove it. I was offered a "discount" lol. On top of the many cosmetic damages, even some that are outside of normal wear & tear. They wouldn't even take $8250 but I needed a car asap as I had been looking for weeks. I Purchased a 2016 Buick Lacrosse form them and paid to have it shipped to me in Louisville, Ky. The vehicle came almost completely out of gas. When I filled it with gas the check engine light came on. I took it to Ken Towery and they replaced the gas cap. The engine light stayed on. I replaced the battery and the engine light came back on. I took it to a Chevy Dealership and sat for three hours as they looked at it and they said it was okay. An hour later the check engine light came back on. On Monday I took it to the Buick Dealership. They called me this morning and told me the entire undercarriage is completely rusted through, and the gas tank is leaking and it would cost more to repair it than the vehicle is worth. Was interested in purchasing a vehicle Selective Motors had listed. When I asked basic questions about the vehicle, Sam was vague in his answers. I asked for pictures of certain areas of the vehicle and he replied they could only send through text as they were too large to email. Everyone knows you can send larger files through email than you can through text. When I mentioned I couldn't find any maintenance records for the vehicle using a VIN search, he replied they didn't have any records. When I asked if they had run the vehicle through the shop to see if anything was wrong, Sam said they only service vehicles that need it. It is common practice among reputable legitimate dealers to have the service shop do an inspection on the vehicle, change the oil, check trans fluid, brakes, etc to see what the vehicle needs, are there any problems and how they should determine a price for the vehicle. It is bewildering how they could come up with a price without knowing anything about the vehicle. Based on this experience, it seems the negative reviews are accurate and the 5 star are more than likely AI generated in my opinion. read more

My husband and I just bought a mini van from Selective Motors. After bringing it home and it sitting overnight the battery dies. After replacing the battery and still having this issue we took it to have diagnostic testing done. Turns out there is a parasitic draw on the battery and it's going to cost us a pretty penny trying to trace it down and repair it. Of course since they sold it to us as is we will eating that expense. I'm fairly confident they were aware of this issue and just didn't tell us because they told us their mechanic checked it over and was in tip top shape. All used cars need some work but when you spend $7500 on a minivan that you were told had no issues after being check by their mechanic and then come to find out there is a huge costly issue like this one is so upsetting. read more

Paid top dollar for the vehicle for its age...looked nice, low miles for age, brand of vehicle with good reliability record, extensive car fax showing regular maintenance....then in four months time...tire issue, transmission goes out, front suspension drops out (ball joint), water pump with possible engine damage...well at least they cleaned the piece of junk up good. I also saw this business had good reviews on Yelp which eased my concerns, because we are talking used car salesmen after all. At this point it is likely it will be sold for scrap at a tremendous loss. Caveat emptor (let the buyer beware). My recommendation would be to steer clear, but if you insist on considering a vehicle from here have the entire vehicle checked over thoroughly by a qualified mechanic as they obviously are okay with selling sub par vehicles for premium prices. read more

I did not know that this place existed until I looked at my Company ADP Employee Benefit program and it pointed me in their direction. I was suddenly in need of a car and was able to look over their inventory quickly and found 4 different vehicles that immediately were within my criteria. When comparing to Blue Book they are right on the money. Not only was it the only place I went to I found the car of my dreams on the third one I looked at. It had what I wanted and much more. Salesman was very nice and and efficiently guided me through the financing process. I have never had a car transaction go so smoothly. I was pleasantly surprised to receive in the mail a few days later a car emblem that I had mentioned would have been nice to be replaced.
