First time at this Salon and it will be my place forever..Gloria was wonderful, and so skilled.......She was GREAT

I am SO disappointed! I have a medical issue that keeps me from sitting for long periods and told Gloria this but she still took TWO HOURS to just cut my hair. She pressed and pressed me to wash it beforehand and I told her I could not sit like that. She cut the sides and front of my hair and didn't cut the back so I told her to cut it and she said...oh, I didn't know if you wanted the back cut!?!? The whole new style had a short back! She also made a racist remark..."you never know when one of those Mexicans could have a gun" while telling a story about visiting near the border. She has a VERY LOUD voice and never stops talking. She scratched my head so much while fixing it that it hurt until the next day. She also kept telling me that I have a VERY WIDE FOREHEAD. She actually said it about 10 times! Like my self esteem isn't already bad enough!? I do not need someone saying stuff like that to me! It was a horrible experience. My haircut is one of the worst I've ever had. read more

I had my hair done here a few months ago, and I had never been to a hair salon before so I was really excited to finally go to one! Unfortunately, this was not a good experience at ALL. I asked for a simple ombré color and a trim and what I got was awful! It wasn't ombré at all, it was highlighted. And they were terrible highlights at that... They were very nice, but didn't do what I asked at all! Now I'm afraid of salons. read more

I stopped in one day while working and met Michael. We talked business and I mentioned that it was challenging at best to get a good hair cut. He made an appointment for me. I was trepiditous but, went. This is the first hair cut I've had in years where people have complimented me. Its exactly what I wanted, Michael listened and it showed. The price is fair, he's a nice guy and I will not go anywhere else. It seems that the dozen or so salons I have been in over the last 4-5 years seem to cut one side longer than the other, then they try to hide their errors with blow dry magic and product. New to Dunedin. I researched salons in the area, read reviews, asked a lot of questions. Because of the positive and respectful tone of the receptionist, I made an appointment for color re-touch and to shape up my cut. I was told by the receptionist that Gloria was a master colorist. I brought a picture of myself with the desired shape and tone of my heavily highlighted hair and was very clear with my verbal communication as to what I wanted done. My first impression is that no hair stylist should let you see his/her hair look terrible. Gloria is disheveled and tired-looking. Next, I was disappointed with the setting of the salon. I was the only customer and Gloria and the receptionist/assistant talked my head off. No way to have a relaxing, tranquil experience. Gloria took quite awhile looking at her "color wheel" trying to decide how to tone my blonde down, cover my roots, and avoid brassiness. When I was rinsed by the assistant, her very pointed long nails scratched and irritated my scalp - no clue how to give a good head rinse or massage. Gloria did not comb my hair out thoroughly enough to begin putting scissors to it. She cut the bottom, as we discussed in an inverted bob because I had told her I didn't want the bottom to be heavy and bell-shaped. When she began blowdrying my hair, she had no clue how to blow out a smooth inverted bob. Everything she was doing only encouraged the bell (little Dutch boy) shape that I had told her I didn't want. I finally lost my patience and took the tools from her and continued to dry it myself. And then I paid hr $144, including 20% tip, because I'm nice that way. But I feel like I was robbed. In closing - a confused, unskilled salon. Oh, and neither Joseph or Michael work there anymore - in reference to the other reviews I'm reading in regard to loyalty to them. They sold the business to Gloria. I'm just sick about my experience there. read more

TOP NOTCH ALL THE WAY!!!!! I have been to Joseph Michaels a few times after my previous stylist moved and I couldn't find him. I'm always reluctant to start a new relationship with a stylist because I'm kind of picky. Michael did such a great job that I'm headed back for my 3rd visit right now. This little salon is a gem. Its very relaxed and friendly. I just got a cut by Leslie there and can't say enough about how good she is! She listened to what I wanted and that's just what I got, but better. I highly recommend Leslie. I love having Michael do my hair! He is an excellent hair stylist and colorist. He uses top of the line products which keeps my hair in good condition. I notice that all of his clients leave with a flattering style and color that suits them. He does not do the same cut on everyone. He also stays updated on the latest styles, colors and products. Michael Georgianni, is hands down the best person I have ever had do my hair!!! He is creative and beyond talented. If you are looking to have a make over or just a hair cut he's your guy. From a simple cut to a full color transformation he does it all!!! He does my entire families hair! He even gave my son his 1st hair cut!!! The salon is clean, organized and friendly. I drive all the way from Largo to see Michael at Joesph Michael Salon in Dunedin. Michael is amazing!! I gotta say that I have tried other salons that are closer to my home but always go back to see Michael. He is not only professional, he has a very creative eye. There have been times I wanted a "new look" and told him to work his magic bc I didn't have anything particular in mind. It always comes out looking fabulous. My son also goes to Joesph Michael Salon and he has very thick coarse hair that is almost impossible to style.. yet Michael can make my son actually like his hair which has never happened with any other stylist. Gloria is amazing. I came with pictures of the cut and color that I wanted. Having old highlights (the previous colorist, I saw threw the toner all over my head and changed my base color) that diminished my over all color, Gloria foiled in my base color after re-touching my re-growth. I have my vibrant color BACK. The cut was perfect, the blow dry on point. I will be returning to have highlights done correctly. I personally have been in this industry, so I am a difficult client, no doubt!!. I know what I want and the product I want used on my hair. Gloria gave a full consultation and did exactly what I asked. Gloria along with the other clients made the experience relaxing and enjoyable.
