I can't imagine trusting this place with something requiring more serious medical attention. Appointments are rushed, but I can deal with that because my issue was minor. My problems began when I needed to follow up with them. Good luck contacting these people. They use a communication app that isn't compatible with all phones -- phones that are compatible with every other app in existence -- and if it's not compatible with yours, your office is virtually unreachable. There's no patient portal accessible via computer and no phone number to the office, just a cell phone app that not all phones can access. So you call. When you call the number provided, you first communicate with an AI robot who understands maybe two key phrases. Then your phone call is routed to an offshore call center. That's when the real fun begins. The call center operators will blatantly fabricate answers on the fly in order to get you off the phone. They'll tell you your prescription has already been processed while you're looking at your pharmacy account which clearly indicates that the prescription is pending further action from your practitioner, a practitioner you can't contact because of the app you can't use and the office you can't contact directly by phone. They'll tell you that someone from the actual office will call you back. Days pass. The call never comes. So you call the call center again, and the whole fiasco repeats. These call center operators don't care if you don't get the medical care you need, and why would they? They don't work for Schweiger Dermatology. They work for an Amazon-style call center 8,000 miles away. Your potentially-serious medical complaints in need of potentially-serious medication may as well be a broken lamp to them. So after many wasted hours and days and still no medication - which again, isn't serious for me, but it MAY be for you if your condition is more serious than mine - you give up and you find a new dermatologist. But not before joining the chorus of other horrified former patients calling Schweiger Dermatology a profit-driven, corner-cutting scam masquerading as healthcare. Which is all it is.

Right after the facial, my face turned red, especially on my cheeks. I didn't think anything of it, since the esthetician did do extractions on my nose and cheeks. Of course redness is expected. After a few weeks, the rash started to get worse and didn't go away. I sent this place an email with pictures of my face and told them that ever since my facial treatment here, I developed a terrible rash with pimples. They answered the following: 'Hello, This is Jessica from Skintology medspa. I did your facial when you were in our office. It looks like your skin may be having a bit of flareup from rosacea. The products that we use for facials are ZO skincare products which are medical grade.' ... like ok so what if medical grade products were used? They still caused an allergic reaction to my skin. I wasn't expecting to get my money back or anything but I was expecting at least an apology or something from the Med spa. Anyways, I ended up having to go to a dermatologist (another expense and time out of my day) and he said that it did look like a rosacea flare up from the skin care products that they used at the facial. I've been using a steroid cream that was prescribed to me by the dr (also another expense to buy the cream). The rash has not gone away and it's been well over a month. I don't know if at this point it will ever go away. I'm traumatized and I'm never going to get a facial ever again. I'm embarrassed to show my face; I used to have the clearest skin and now it's just a mess.

Kopec, MD Would Squarely Land Given Her Treatment Of Me and Others I Know. There were virtually no decent dermatologists in Bayonne, NJ. when I first sought care. My 1st. office visit with Dr. Anna Kopec was in 1990. A friend and colleague of mine was seeing her. She was my treating dermatologist for many years. I found Dr. Anna Kopec's demeanor to be rather off-putting. She seemed to be terminally virtually ill-tempered. She never smiled and was borderline nasty. She always seemed like she was playing what I would term "Beat-The-Clock" -- always treating you with one foot out the door, she would race to get as many patients in and out as possible. I overlooked her ill nature and behavior for many ears, but in the latter years, she grew nastier and became abusive in her behavior. It was then I decided to terminate her as my treating dermatologist. I now knew why my friend and former colleague, a former patient of Dr. Kopec, told me 20 years prior that she "she could not stand Dr. Kopec".

We have nothing but praise for Dr. Ferraz and his team. His office is ridiculously busy on most days. You can call for an appointment when they open at noon, but everything feels like it operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Your appointment is a guess of when things might be less busy. If your situation is not extremely urgent, your best bet is to call, ask for the latest available appointment, and drop by then. I relocated to California. I still see my dentist in Newark (Dr. Gultz), since I visit home roughly every 6 months. I really wish I could do the same with Dr. Ferraz, but -- for better or worse -- illness doesn't come on a regular schedule!
