Awful experiences. Each time, I have to follow up myself to…read moreensure I get the care I need. During visits, Dr. Leon seems SO busy or over booked (or just does not care), doesn't know which pt he is seeing, who I am or why I am there. He does not take time to get to know you or educate you at all. For example, during my very first visit with Dr. Leon, he asked if I have "any pertinent family history" - the average person may not know what that means OR what is considered pertinent. My patch test came back posistive for items, including nickel. He asked if I eat a lot of canned food to which I replied "not really, well we have been eating a lot of tuna lately". He did not acknowledge that reply and moved onto his next question. Should I be avoiding tuna or other canned foods??? I guess I will never know. He asked many questions like this to which I replied yes, and he just moved onto the next question with no education or guidance. I asked him the best way to know if I am allergic to a products ingredient if that item was not included in the patch test, to which he replied very odd - giving me a non answer and just telling me to scan my products in the allergy app. Ok, well if we dont test for X, the app will say I am not allergic to X - so that does not help me. I asked him about 3 different, nice ways to which he replied "This is the gold standard and we do patch testing multiple times per week". Again, a non answer and he seemed almost offended that I would ask how I know if I am allergic to something or not that we do not test for. It was super weird so I dropped it. During my follow up with him, he walked into the room and asked ME to remind HIM what my "chief complaint is" bc he didn't take 30 sec to review my chart first. We were in the middle of talking, and after a few min he opens the laptop and says "Anne right?" as though he didn't know WHICH pt I was for sure and had to double check. At my follow up, I had to remind them I was also there for a nasal scope. Dr. Leon was supposed to send a medication to my pharmacy after my appt, that same day and did not. I had to follow up the next day to ask them to send it. Appts are very long, I am often put in a room and wait 45 min or more to be seen. I was also told I needed a sinus CT scan but they could not see me for 5 weeks! Insane. I explained I cannot wait that long and asked to be fit in that week, or send the order to an outside facility, so they did fit me in. I went in this week, Thurs 8/13 for the in office CT scan and waited in the lobby for 30 min. The front desk went to check on my wait time, and when she came back, I heard her tell her coworker that the main guy who does the scan was out that day and the girl covering was not monitoring the CT scan schedule. Great. I was told Dr. Leon would call me with the CT scan results (he reads them in the office), I was given option to wait for him to come talk to me about results in person that day while I was there or a phone call and chose a call because I needed to get back to work. It was implied and understood by me that he would call the same day, this was Thursday. Of course, he did not call me with the results. I sent a msg on the patient portal Thurs 8/13 evening asking them to call me Friday before the weekend as my symptoms were very uncomfortable and I am hoping to know results/treatment plan/meds etc before the weekend. At this point, it's been several weeks since I started coming here and we've tried two diff meds that have not helped. I still did not get a call before they closed Friday 8/14 for the weekend. Do not expect any bedside manner, education, answer to your questions, or prompt care here. I plan to follow up again next week on the scan results and I have already scheduled with a new doctor/office to transfer my care

During my first visit, Dr. Shakouri was very dismissive of the fact that my profession as an airline pilot strictly limits which medications I am allowed to take. Despite my repeated concerns and the FAA medication restrictions, he continued to push for a "large dose" of an allergy medication until I finally said, "I would rather not." I was later scheduled for allergy skin testing and a sinus CT scan. The front desk provided written instructions, which I followed exactly. Those instructions also clearly stated that I would be contacted in advance with pricing if my insurance did not cover the tests. That never happened. On the day of the appointment, I was unexpectedly told I owed $300 for the allergy testing (which I reluctantly agreed to) and $150 for the sinus CT scan (which I declined). I expressed my frustration to Dr. Shakouri, after which he issued a refund, and I chose to terminate care with this office. Overall, this was a very frustrating and unprofessional experience. Poor communication, disregard for occupational medical restrictions, and irresponsible front office practices. I now have to start the entire process over again elsewhere. I do not recommend this practice. EDIT: Just in case it gets deleted, Denise K (business owner) commented below: "It's sad patients can say anything they want on social media whether it's true or not" My response to Denise K. whom accurately proves my point about this allergy clinic: What's actually sad is dismissing legitimate patient concerns by implying they're untrue, rather than addressing them professionally. My review reflects my firsthand experience as a patient and the interaction I had in your office. If any part of it were inaccurate, a respectful clarification would be appropriate -- not a blanket attempt to discredit patients for speaking publicly. He patiently provided all possible information when I called him the first time inquiring about the process. He gave the list of all the vaccinations and lab work we had to do in the first visit itself and also followed up diligently with the labs to secure results to get started on the paper work without further delay. He was very considerate of our work hours and accommodated our late evening requests both the times we had to visit his facility. I would recommend him to anyone that is seeking to get medicals done for immigration purposes. He is detailed oriented and very patient.

First issue: Patient portal - you would suspect or hope it was to help speed 1st patient visit along and cut down on duplication, yea not here. On-line you fill out patient info, address, emergency contact and several pages & fields including last Dr. seen, then at the end of that 30 minute session. You get to do it ALL over again but this time on 11 page document you need to print out. Make sure an take notice, one of the last pages ask for Credit Card number, expiration date & 3 digit security code info to have on file "just in case" interesting huh.... Second issue: Customer service skills, I showed up 10 minutes early. I was greeted cordially enough, I presented the eleven pages I spent more time filling out, since this one is a little more detailed and required digging up contact names, numbers and recalling procedural info not asked on the patient portal. I begin the sit and wait process for the next 45 minutes, do I get so sorry for wait, do I get he is with someone that requires assistance, do i get would you like a glass of water, heck no. Instead at the 50 min mark beyond my scheduled appointment I now see the nurse, same nurse who has been sitting at the front desk the entire time. She will now take my BP, Oxygen level, temperature and weight then I am taken into a patient room to wait additional 15 minutes. Finally after 65 minutes of being at their office (55 mins waiting for Dr) he walks in. Third issue: No respect for the patient. Instead of walking in and saying "I am so sorry and apologizing" I get " so what are you here for. We begin to cover why I am there and due to his lateness I do not have time to do a full 1st visit but I am willing to come back, get blood work and other tests done. Now, he offers an apology for being late. We quickly talk about why I am there. Total face-to-face with Nolen about 20 minutes. Now I know several of you are saying "you had the red flags" why didn't you leave. In the past I would have been gone, but now its simple. I know things can happen and Dr's can get backed-up so give some leniency. Until they cross the line, with attitude their time is more important than ours so just deal with it or you challenge their fees which can cause them to bow up. Which they are going to charge one-way or another remember you gave them access to your CC with authorization when you signed that document. If you are seeing this guy and are happy then that is great but if you are thinking about going to see him cause you got a flyer in the mail...think about it how many Dr's have you known that have flyers in the mail.

If you are an overall healthy individual I would say this place would be decent but here is my experience. After my physical I had a follow up and prior to this we reviewed my medical records and medication. I reached out to Dr.Nguyen for help with anxiety, PPD, PPA, Adult ADHD & what I thought was depression (mind you all of my records w medications I was taking and had taken in the past). She prescribed me allergy meds for CRIPPLING anxiety , Allergy meds for appetite stimulant and some random antidepressant. Now I'm aware that she isn't a specialist in mental health but at the very least try and explore and help me instead of pumping antihistamines into my system (that didn't work by the way). That's not the worst event though . My records state that I take a control substance at a very low dosage , with her being my new physician I let her know so I can get a new script. As I'm discussing the treatment I needed she basically stopped me mid sentence and told me in order to prescribe any controlled substance in the state of Texas I would need to be drug tested to receive a refill (mind you my records show that I've never had an issue w controlled substance I've been prescribed the same medicine at the same dosage for almost 10 years. Now if I hadn't gone to doctors in Texas before I probably wouldn't have felt the way I did (never had a drug test for any prescription I've gotten thus far), but it's something about being a black young woman that made that comment and her attitude feel a bit racist. After a sit down w my lawyers it is Texas law and I get that. I haven't had this issue in the past but the allergy meds + the drug test felt odd. Only one-in-three African Americans actually receive adequate help for mental health issues & doctors like her are the reason. Nothing she prescribed me was evidence based for the issues I was facing and if she couldn't handle it she should've recommended I seen a specialist. A week after the allergy drugs I was prescribed i was hospitalized for my mental health and it was interesting to see the hospitals face when I gave them my course of treatment from Dr. Nguyen in full detail. After this I called and immediately asked for DPC to send my records to a new facility & lucky enough they refunded my membership. It took them over a month to finally get my records to my new doctor and they only sent my small file of records from their office but mind you they had my records prior and apparently don't send those and that's fine but inconvenient given all the treatments she gave me were awful . Not to mention she never asked any additional questions about my depression & guess what it wasn't even depression but much more severe. Imagine paying a membership fee for allergy pills and a doctor that just wants to push expensive medical grade skin care. Anyways , if you are diverse and have mental health issues go see someone who makes you feel comfortable, seen & safe. With my following and large influence in the DFW area I will continue to advocate for people like me to see qualified healthcare professionals for their needs.
