    Chips and salsas
    Jana B.

This family-owned business has been open for about a month and we gave it a try today. FOOD: We asked what the primary cuisine was as I spotted some Latin American type flavors & we were told the chef is from Mexico. First, the chips and salsa are unlike any I'd ever had. 2-one tomato based and the other like a creamy avocado. The chips were addictive. I had the Chicken Crepes and my friend got the chicken enchiladas. This is where it took a turn for me, they essentially tasted the same, except mine had spinach and mushrooms. The wrappers on both seemed the same. ATMOSPHERE: Nice and clean, you could do families or date night, either one. SERVICE: Here is where they shine. Salvador was our waiter (the best) and when I asked him about the similarities of the two dishes, he went and told the chef. Fernando came right out and we talked about it. Next time, I will be ordering the Vegetable crepes as that is what made mine so good. TIP: Don't fill up on the chips and salsa. You are going to want to, but the entrees need all the room!

    It's not at all expensive

This was our first visit, and it exceeded expectations! This restaurant checks all the boxes -- great ambience, indoor and outdoor dining, nice decor, outstanding service, and absolutely delicious and not run-of-the-mill Mexican food. We will be recommending this to friends, and encourage you to visit. You will not be disappointed!

Recently moved into the area and still discovering some good restaurants. Found Josefina's about a mile away from my house opposite of where I normally head out. Appears to have recently opened about a month ago however, the atmosphere of the restaurant lured me in. It was so well lit up and bright inside. I'm not a fan of dim lit restaurants as you just don't know what they are really trying to hide. Staff was very friendly and so hospitable that after a few minutes, I just wanted to be left alone but I let it go. I know they are doing their jobs and respect it. Some places just don't even give half as much service these days. Great job ladies!!! The food was great!! Enjoyed the chips and two salsas. The queso was delicious and had a a great bite to it!! I ordered the beef tacos with rice and black beans and taste was spot on. I enjoyed the homemade tortillas as well. I bought some packaged Mexican wedding cookies on the way out and the taste was great and reminded me of my mom's cookies she made me growing up. I will be back as I do see the do serve breakfast as well.

Greatttttt foodddddd and good drinks, really good. Clean and nice for any type of gathering, not noisy and awesome service always.

Food is amazing and the Josefine margarita is amazing better than what's next door. Better than most Spanish places around for sure!!

Mole enchiladas was amazing!!! Will come back again

Everything was so amazing! I love the story of him naming this after his mother. The story on the wall is beautiful. We had our Christmas dinner for work here. Was able to accommodate 10 people with a breeze. Had a room in the corner for our privacy!

Stopped by Venezuelan Restaurant off a recommendation from D Magazine and our party of 3 adults and…read more1 child had a great time! We split one arepa blanco with picanha and two cachapa con queso de mano y nata, one with carne asada and one with chicharron. The meats were all great; the chicharron was fried super well and the fat was perfectly rendered. The picanha and carne asada both had an excellent char, and I'd say the picanha is more tender. We really enjoyed the slight sweetness of the cachapa paired with the queso, and we really liked the veggies and sauce in the arepa blanco. In the future I'd see if we could somehow get that sauce from the arepa blanco sandwich on the cachapa for the best of both worlds :) The baby in the group was a huge fan of the cachapa and cheese. The passion fruit juice I got was huge and not too sweet, which I enjoyed a lot! And the sweet plantains were an excellent side, soft and just slightly crisp on the outside. The potato salad was super interesting too; there was shredded chicken in it, so it was more of a chicken and potato salad, but very enjoyable regardless. It does kind of suck that there's no complementary tap water; you have to pay $2 for a bottle if you want water. But otherwise this is a great place if you're craving arepas or other Venezuelan style street food. Will def be back to try the rest of the menu!

The service is CRAZY good. And if you're lucky enough to find a spot at the bar, you're in for an even better drink/food journey. Favorites: the carne asade and seafood chile relleno (w/Serrano queso). If your dining mate will split these two dishes with you, you're going to have the perfect meal. All their drinks are good, but among my favorites are the Mezcalita and La Diabla. If you're unsure, you can share your liquor/cocktail preference and the bartenders will serve you something delicious. Also, if you like things spicy, they have a creamy green salsa that is . You just have to ask. I can't wait to try their new location (mostly because I want to see how some of my favorite bartenders are doing over there). Sueño deserves all the success because they truly care about your experience from start to finish. Which reminds me, get the churros if you save room.

I got a cubano, and it was a large portion that I was able to take home part of for another meal. I think the pickles could've been more pickle and less cucumber taste, but I loved the mustard and overall it was a fantastic sandwich. The guy who served us was kind and even made sure our drinks were cool for us. The less good: it's a bit of a run down vibe inside, and there were leaks and AC failings inside when we were there. The menu is a bit hard to discern if you're unfamiliar and only available on QR codes at the tables. My bf got a pork dish and mentioned that it was all kind of one note. His dish was more expensive than my sandwich by several dollars and you can see from my picture that he got much less food. Overall, I left feeling kind of wishy washy about this place. Perhaps it would be a great place to order unique delivery from rather than dining in, and I can appreciate the specialty food options overall.
