Over a year and still going strong! Every Friday for Happy Hour, we love this location and all of the amazing people that work there. Being regulars, we enjoy the company and banter between their employees. They always take the time to come over and are genuinely interested and caring about how our week is going. That's what makes this location so great and we hope management keeps it this way and promotes this behavior! We love sitting in the bar where it is always packed and loud. After a long week it is imperative to get an adult beverage (on HH sale!) and let out the frustration or glee pent up in us. Other regulars seem to enjoy the same thing. They have plenty of non-bar seating which is much quieter if needed. We have tried almost everything on the menu and occasionally will ask for something off menu, which they gladly make. ALA secret menu like In-&-Out ;) We recently tried the Carnitas Street Tacos and they are stuffed huge and fantastic! I love the #3 combo with a beef enchilada, cheese (add onions) enchilada, and of course their famous deep fried beef taco with rice and refried beans. I'm really surprised that I've never reviewed this location. I've been here several times, especially since the mission location closed. I normally order online and just pick it up. It's always been super easy and convenient. During my last visit, I actually ate in the restaurant because we had a family dinner there. The staff was super accommodating, especially because we had a few people and weren't really sure on how many. The interior has quite a few tables and a separate bar area. I believe they also have an outdoor patio, but I didn't get to check that out. I almost always get a house Margarita, rocks, salt. It's super cheap, very good and you can even get it to go. During happy hour the margaritas are two for $10 so you really can't beat that. But even if not on happy hour, they're only six dollars. A few others in my party got frozen fruit margaritas-peach and strawberry. Those were a little sweet for me but they still tasted good if that's your thing. I always get the exact same thing every time I go to Jose peppers. I get two soft steak tacos and I substitute the rice and beans for a side salad with ranch, preferably dressing on the side. I don't care for the rice and beans so I always get the salad. The salad always has fresh produce. I do like the ranch dressing but sometimes they are heavy handed so I like it on the side. The steak tacos are light but still filling. They are definitely not authentic but that's OK. I don't always want a super authentic taco. Occasionally, I crave white people Tex-Mex. And when I do, this hits the spot. The steak is always nice and tender, which is surprising from a Mexican spot. I will most definitely return. I'm sure I will be back in the future with family to eat there. And I recommend it to anyone just wanting a nice solid Tex mix experience. read more

I was visiting a friend yesterday and they mentioned that yesterday was national burrito day and there were specials at different restaurants. He showed me an email they got from Jose Peppers for their burrito special which was $9.99 regularly $14.99 The last time I went to Jose Pepper's was years ago. Many many years ago and although I can't remember exactly what I got I was not that impressed so I had never gone back. Well, I decided to give it another try. my wife and I went there last night. I ordered the Carnitas burrito and she got a half order of nachos. I also downloaded their app and joined their rewards program which entitled us to a free serving of queso dip. Before I get to the food, let's just start with the service. Our server was very cordial and she gave a detailed explanation of the different burritos since there were five different burritos to choose from. Not only that but a supervisor came over as well. She was also extremely friendly, and between the two of them, it was just an excellent vibe. I also liked the ambience of the restaurant in general. It's a large dining room room and lots of windows so it was nice to have a lot of daylight. Even the plates the food was served on were really beautiful and I wouldn't mind having them at home. The portions were generous. I took home half of my burrito And my wife had plenty of leftovers from her half order of nachos which actually seemed like a full order at many other places. My burrito also came with a side of refried beans and cilantro, rice, and again both of those tasted delicious. The rice not only has cilantro but a bit of lime in it. First time here at this location although it is just a few blocks from home. Seems to be popular with the older crowds. Pricing seem decent. Thin strip tortilla. A little heat to the salsa and chunky with peppers and cilantro. Lunch portion was enough for one person. Dinner size is huge if you got the appetite. Food was fairly good. We had a party of 8, with a hearing impaired child and an elderly man with significant hearing loss. Our server, Kevin, kept a positive, friendly attitude and showed understanding patience with the repeated questions and, "What?" being fielded at him. Came here for an early dinner on a Sunday and I must say, the food was disappointing. We started with a guacamole appetizer. It was pretty good except for a huge chunk of hard, unripened avocado that took up half of the bowl. I had a mahi mahi bowl and the fish was waaaay too salty. The rice and beans were pretty good, however. My husband got a steak fajita. It was not great. Also way too salty, and the steak had a weird mushy texture.
