We needed someone to come in and install our new dishwasher after getting some plumbing and electrical done to get it ready. Jose responded to my Request a Quote within the hour and had availability the next day to come and take care of it. Our house is over 100 years old so we ran into a few snafus, like an uneven floor, bracketing issues attaching the dishwasher to the counter, and hose fittings but he handled it all smoothly, checking with me before making any decisions we might not have been comfortable with (e.g., screws in our counter interfered with bracketing the dishwasher exactly in the center of the space we had wanted so we had to shift a little to the left). He also reused some materials I had left over from a DIY project I had done to level the washer, saving us some money on additional materials. We also ran the dishwasher before he left and identified one of the hoses was a little too loose, causing a slight drip, so he made sure everything was tight and secure before wrapping the job. The dishwasher has been running great! The price was really reasonable and Jose was very kind and accommodating. I would definitely feel very comfortable calling him again for future jobs! read more

Jose charges $75 per hour plus travel. He did well on installing my storm door, new threshold and 3 thermostats. The installation of my marlite in the bathroom was unacceptable. There was a deep scratch of about a foot and a half from his installation. Therefore, I had to spend another $50 to buy a new sheet. I have never hired a handyman that did not have a truck in order to pick up materials. I had to buy the door and marlite sheets, use my husband's truck and deliver to him. My time and travel is worth money too. A UAW "licensed" electrician makes $40 per hour, so not sure how he can command $75 per hour. What I asked of him should have taken at most 3 days to complete. I only hired him because I needed the work done timely. After more than a week, the work was not completed. Not happy. read more

Jose was wonderful. I hired him for what we both thought was a simple job but as with so many things, it wasn't as simple as thought. Jose put in the necessary effort and wasn't even pleased at the end because it wasn't 100% perfect. When I told him it was great and I was very happy, he asked multiple times if I was 100% sure. Jose is a gifted problem solver. The floor of my second floor porch is an extension of what had been the first floor roof. Previous owners had covered it with poorly installed, rubber flooring that had ripped and cracked over the years. Jose removed it, removed the old tar roof tiles and striped, repaired and restored the the underlying wood. It was a tough job that other contractors had declined. It looks terrific!
