I hate leaving bad reviews for local businesses, but I asked this company to install a used…read morebasketball hoop. The workers came over on time and were very nice, but apparently there was some question about the integrity of the hoop itself. They installed it without asking any questions, and after they left I noticed the hoop could only extend to a max of 6 feet tall, rendering it useless. Why wouldn't you talk to me before you cemented it in? Now I'm out $225 and all they offered to do is cut it down and I got the reply " we did what you asked us to do." * update: the "Fabulous Mr. Fix It" still hasn't removed the hoop as promised. Did anyone notice how the respondent was defensive and didn't try to rectify the situation? Ya... me too. (4/23/2020)

Looks like the inspector missed this leaky sink and John very wisely picked up the problem and fixed it as well. I highly recommend John for all your Plumbing, electrical, home mtnce issues.

I do a lot of business in Michigan and California through Yelp. I have never seen reviews like…read morethis... either 5-stars or 1-star... AND THEY ARE BOTH ACCURATE! Obviously a very nice guy and talented... until he decides he is through with you... whether the job is completed or not! I had the same story. Great communication, knows his biz, nice guy, good work... but a TERRIBLE BUSINESSMAN. Why he would quote these jobs, do work, build relationships and then just disappear is crazy. I actually thought something happened to him until I read these reviews. Unfortunately for us, he left one part of the job (the sanding and painting) unfinished. Now, I have to find someone to come in and clean up his mess. cI've been told I have a nice case for small claims court... and I may just try that route. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME! STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY!

The roof line is fairly steep where the repair was needed, and I'm not a big fan of heights. Eric responded quickly the evening I posted my request. He was very reasonable with his initial quote after seeing the photos I posted. He was on my roof a couple days later, popped the siding back in, and secured it further ensuring it stays in place for the next wind storm. Really liked Eric, and he stated that he was a "Jack of all trades". When it comes to any of my future projects/repairs, he will be the first person I call for assistance.

His work offer was well written and similar cost to others. I decided to go with him after reading some reviews on his page. I am sad to report that after delay of the project, then asking for money because of said delay, then saying the home was ready when the projects weren't complete I took possession of the home and paid in full as we were in a time schedule. Following is a list of things that I found very unsatisfying: The floor was refinished but there are spots that have streaks and places that look like they were stained. The paint job they did in the main house area was not doe. Well, looked like maybe only primer was used? Also the window sills, where the blinds came off, etc, were not painted or holes filled in. The paint job in the basement was half done. I had to ask to have the heat/air ducts painted. Then not all were done. The electrical in pretty much the entire house was not wired correctly. I had to hire someone else to get the fans working properly, the lights to work with correct switches, etc. The washer was not hooked up and the dryer gas was off. The dishwasher was wired and hooked incorrectly. Was missing the kick plate and was crooked. I had to have a new person reinstall. They forgot the new bathroom fans but after requesting these they were installed, very small and the paint was never touched up or made right around them. There were greasy marks in new paint job, splashes in walls of idk what and the paint we smashed for (high quality washable paint) was not used. The locks installed were not installed correctly, and one had been taken over by the owner and we had to buy a new one (expensive!) I can't recommend this company.

DD is looking out for me as a person, as opposed to merely being someone who is making money off of my property. Examples: He has lent me tools when I wanted to fix things on my own, referred me to other people to help with my house, given me free flowers for my yard and offered to make me artwork. On a more professional note, he has done yardwork outside and handy work inside. This has included high quality landscaping, taking ivy off of my brick, and planting free flowers in my yard. Inside, he has hung up pictures and other artwork, fixed problems in my bathroom, and helped me snake a drain. The list could go on, too. He can do anything and everything and he charges an affordable rate. I highly recommend DD to all people in the Ann Arbor area without any ounce of hesitation.
