I have been to this store many times. I like the lay out and selection. But…read more.. I don't think I have ever been greeted by the staff there. I have never been asked if I need help and when I have asked for help I feel like it's an inconvenience to the them. I often feel like there is a little cliche and new comers are not included. The last time I was in I made a large purchase and I had a friend who does not knit with me. Even she made a comment about the poor customer service and lack of interest in the customer.

The lady teaching a person how to knit was telling the other people at the table that River City Yarns did not encourage people to spend time in the store because there was no place to sit, that they don't wind yarn for people ( this is not true) and some other negative things about that store. I found this to be very unprofessional and disturbing. Bad mouthing another business is not a way to attract customers.

I don't buy fabric that often, but I happened to be out in this part of town on a Saturday and thought, "Why not?" Years ago, Allan G built me a framed board that I upholstered & added cup hooks to to hang my necklaces in my dressing room on (our 1950s house had NO closet space, so I made one of the bedrooms my IKEA-closeted paradise). However, in my new house, the fabric no longer worked where I wanted to put it. My new bedroom is in silver, gray, and very pale lilac-- sort of Jean Harlow 1930s glamour, so I was looking for some fabric with a nice shimmer or an actual metallic fabric. Found one! Absolutely gorgeous silvery print-- almost like a shantung. My cutter was super friendly and helpful (I can't think in metric). When she asked what I was creating, I had to explain that I had this board, and it was 24 x 26 inches...). When she told me the price I just about fell over, considering the exorbitant prices Fabricland charges. I think I paid around $22.00 for my find. They now have a customer for life, and I'll come back here FIRST before ever spending a dime in another Fabricland.

I was shopping in the store with a friend. We both had a fair sized list of things we wanted to…read morebuy. One of the staff members followed us around the store and watched us! She literally stood around the corner at the back listening to us while we were looking at products. NO - she wasn't trying to be helpful.....she just watched us - I have shopped at Quiltessential many times and have never felt like I was being treated like a thief before this time. Maybe that's how the new staff member is - but it ruined my outlook on the store - will not shop there again, which I find quite sad considering how few quilt stores there are in the area. One staff member has lost the store a couple of customers.

One was quite large, so I had used the valet service where they load it all up for you. I would highly recommend this service. I found Ingrid, Keith and staff to be most helpful. They were exceptionally attentive, prompt service, efficient, friendly and made this a very productive and satisfying experience for me and my quilts turned out amazing. I had been trying unsuccessfully to use your app to pull up my coupon it just spun - the free wifi, though said connected was not. I even rebooted my phone. Had no internet connection. Your staff member then said I could just go online - what part of no internet connection isn't she understanding - My husband requested a manager, she argued instead of calling a manager. I walked away leaving my $80 order on the counter. It is as a Saturday afternoon and your store was dead - I can see why. Being told I can return something when I bought it, and then told, rudely but her that she cannot, is unacceptable. The way she spoke to the other worker who was trying to help me, was also not proper. I'd suggest customer service training to this lady asap.
