Years ago, Allan G built me a framed board that I upholstered & added cup hooks to to hang my necklaces in my dressing room on (our 1950s house had NO closet space, so I made one of the bedrooms my IKEA-closeted paradise). However, in my new house, the fabric no longer worked where I wanted to put it. My new bedroom is in silver, gray, and very pale lilac-- sort of Jean Harlow 1930s glamour, so I was looking for some fabric with a nice shimmer or an actual metallic fabric. Found one! Absolutely gorgeous silvery print-- almost like a shantung. My cutter was super friendly and helpful (I can't think in metric). When she asked what I was creating, I had to explain that I had this board, and it was 24 x 26 inches...). When she told me the price I just about fell over, considering the exorbitant prices Fabricland charges. I think I paid around $22.00 for my find. They now have a customer for life, and I'll come back here FIRST before ever spending a dime in another Fabricland.

I only wish I could figure out how to pre order fabric by the cm. I know what I want just how to select the quantity - for me this a challenge. Trapunto checks off all the boxes with its amazing selection of high quality fabrics, competitive pricing and friendly staff. Not only that, they'll cut the size you need! They're clean, neat and organized with an online index and a very modern feel and they carry some of my personal (and sometimes hard to find) favourites like: Art Gallery, Moda, Liberty of London and Rifle Paper Co. and while they certainly cater to quilters, they also had cork, small collections of corduroy, double gauze and even a few knits. To top it all off, they offer classes and will even finish your quilt for you (paid service) if that's your thing. What's not to love about this store?!?! I went to the store on March 18 as it was my first day out. I had explained what had happened and they refused to make a correction as the store policy is 15 days for "returns and exchange". I was neither returning or exchanging. the manager refused to correct the transaction and I left being very disappointed.

The staff is very knowledgeable from traditional methods to the current market of today. Their fabric options and colors are unsurpassed. Amount of notions, rulers and bag/purse hardware is surreal! Store Sales are held so often, because there is always a reason to celebrate us the customer, our birthday, the store birthday, the temperature outside etc. The staff support and help each other, a true team spirit! I was shopping in the store with a friend. We both had a fair sized list of things we wanted to…read morebuy. One of the staff members followed us around the store and watched us! She literally stood around the corner at the back listening to us while we were looking at products. NO - she wasn't trying to be helpful.....she just watched us - I have shopped at Quiltessential many times and have never felt like I was being treated like a thief before this time. Maybe that's how the new staff member is - but it ruined my outlook on the store - will not shop there again, which I find quite sad considering how few quilt stores there are in the area. One staff member has lost the store a couple of customers.

I was as in to their store to rent the longarm machine to quilt a couple of quilts over the last…read moremonth. One was quite large, so I had used the valet service where they load it all up for you. I would highly recommend this service. I found Ingrid, Keith and staff to be most helpful. They were exceptionally attentive, prompt service, efficient, friendly and made this a very productive and satisfying experience for me and my quilts turned out amazing. I can't say enough how helpful they were. Exceptional service!!
